AFF Honesty Foundation

Owner Joe Winter was prompt in coming to our home & giving us an estimate. Our home was sinking 3" in the front. His estimate was not the cheapest nor the highest. The day of the repairs he & his crew of 6 men showed up promptly. Immediately went to work digging the holes. Each time I went out to observe the progress they were willing to answer any question I had. They completed the job in one day. They returned the landscape to its original order. I was impressed with their efficiency and proffesionalism. Would highly recommed Honesty Foundation!

I am ashamed that I have waited so long to do this review. I was extremely impressed with Honesty Foundation. I was referred to them by a neighbor. I was afraid that I would not be able to afford to have the work done, but the price was within my budge and I feel that I got a bargain. I know nothing about things like this but I was comfortable and confident after meeting Joe Winter. I was totally amazed by the procedure and the amount of work that his team performed in the July heat. They not only leveled the slab, but when they left, there was no evidence they had been here. Eveything was cleaned up and neat. I have told many peple about the job they did and I highly recommend them. The word HONESTY in the company name has meaning. The foundation of the company is honesty and integrity - rare qualities these days.

They did an excellent job with the work. The team was not as punctual as I would have liked but that was not the main problem. The main problem is that we are now almost 2 months out and still have not been able to get a receipt from them. Repeated attempts to contact them have not resulted in contact. I realize they are probably very busy as they are an excellent service but paperwork needs to be attended to as well. Otherwise I would completely recommend them. UPDATE: It appears there was an issue with emails being filtered between them and us. As soon as the initial review was posted they contacted us immediately and sent the invoice over post-haste. Seeing the incredibly quick response it would seem that it just a series of missed connections or unhappy occurrences in communication. As stated before- the work was perfect so with this response I have upgraded them to an "A" in repsonsiveness. I completely recommend this provider for any foundation work that you need!

I noticed a crack in the sheetrock around a window in one of the rooms in my house. I called AFF Honesty Foundation after researching Angie's List. Every review for this provider was positive. I scheduled an appointment with Joe Winter who is the owner. He came out and checked my house and gave me his evaluation of the situation. He did not try to sell me services I did not need and told me what to do to minimize the possibility of a cracked foundation. He was professional and did not charge me for coming out to do the estimate. He told me what would need to be done if, in the future, I needed foundation repair. He explained the process and told me what the approximate cost would be if it came to that. I was very pleased and would recommend this company to anyone needing foundation repair estimates. I will definitely call him back to do the work if it gets to that point.

There are no details! Joe is as his name says "Honest". No hick-ups. No I need to go out for this or whatever. Joe delivered exactlywhat he said he was going to and on time. On top of it all he is one of the most deCent down to earth men I have met!

We scheduled a date for him to be there and he arrived at my house early in the morning with his crew. He explained what they were going to be doing and started work right away. The crew was nice and professional as well and they finished faster than I expected. They put everything back in it's place and repaired any holes that had to be made in my patio. I have a big dog in my backyard that likes to dig random holes, and they used some of the extra dirt to fill in those holes as well. I hated the fact that I had to get foundation repair, but going through Honesty Foundation made it painless.

We were so impressed that he spent so much time with us answering all our questions and explaining how he came to that conclusion. We are going to have some concrete work done in the future and although we did not need foundation work as we had thought, he will be the first one we call about the other concrete work. We trust him and we trust Angie's List.

My home suffered cracks and other problems during the 2011 drought. Since I had heard of bad experiences with foundation contractors, I waited for over a year to call for help. Joe Winter was the first one to promptly answer his phone and promise to come out for a free estimate. He arrived promptly when promised and took all his measurements and assessment and gave us an honest explanation of what we needed and an estimate of cost. Since I have a screened in porch on the back of my house, I was concerned about how they could do the work and not mess-up my porch. Joe assured me that he would do everything possible to preserve the porch. On the day the work was scheduled, Joe and his team arrived at the time promised and carried-out the foundation repair as promised and also kept the porch in perfect condition. I can not say enough good things about Joe and his team.

The owner met me at the property, gave me a quote, then repaired the defect.

Joe was very punctual, visited the site to evaluate the area that needed attention and was on time and professional completing the job. He worked with our schedule to complete the job after hours to avoid interruption of service to our members. I was very pleased with the job done.

Joe showed up exactly on time and went straight to work. First he did an initial walk around the property looking at the exposed foundation, bricks, windows, etc. Then he did a sketch of the footprint of the house. He did much the same inside and then began laying out his equipment making pertinent comments as he went. After he got the equipment set-up to his satisfaction he began a series of measurements. Wow! is all I can say. The detail if his report was incredible and then gave me the estimate to repair right on the spot. Because of his work, my wife and I decided not to buy that house, but if I am ever in need of foundation repairs in a house I own, I will be calling Joe. I was greatly impressed with his work and his ethics.

.Arrived promptly, did a thorough assessment, explained the procedure (which I was already familiar with) and the results. Very knowledgeable and professional, and above all honest. I will definitely recommend, and use again if needed.

I was very pleased with Joe Winter and his crew. What impressed me was the fact that Mr. Winter bids his own jobs, and is there for the actual leveling process. They aren't some huge company that just sends out people to do the work. He has a site supervisor who is in charge of making sure things are done correctly, and they were. They cleaned up everytimg when they were finished, and I am very pleased. I would also like to add that not knowing anything about foundation repair, I hired an engineer to look over the situation before the repairs. Mr. Winter was the only one (out of 4 estimates) who's drawings of what needed to do be done matched almost identically what the engineer had drawn. After the work was completed, I invited the engineer back to look thngs over. He was very impressed with the results.

Mr. Joe Winter was the contact man and foreman for the work. The contract was signed October 9th, 2012 with the unwritten promise of completing before Christmas. They finished just before Christmas. Mr. Winter was always easy to contact and answered all my questions, he is ,I believe, a trustworthy man. I was satisfied with their work and would not hesitate to use them again.

AAF Honesty Foundation did a great job. They did a thorough, economical and practical job leveling my house and garage. They did what they said they would do. They were prompt, courteous, and professional in their work. I could tell the work crew was experienced. Joe did a good job of answering my numerous questions and explaining to me the how's and why's of what they were doing. Joe's 20+ years experience in foundation work is a real plus. I have high confidence in AAF Honesty Foundation and can recommend them and would use them again.

Pros: I called Joe Winter of Honesty Foundation because of their rating on Angie's List and the BBB and he provided a next-day, free estimate for foundation leveling. The quote was by far the least expensive that I had received - less than half the cost of the quotes from the "big three" companies. Joe scheduled the work for the following week and his crew completed the job (13 piers) in one day. Other companies I had called were a month out on even providing an estimate. All previous cracks in the sheetrock closed up following the installation of the piers. One gap on the right side of the fireplace closed up, but another gap opened on the left side of the fireplace. I called Joe, and he could tell I was disappointed, but he offered to take $150 off the already low price, which was fair. All in all, the slab is now level, which is the ultimate objective - we're not sure why that gap on the left of the fireplace opened up, but it appears to be more of a cosmetic than structural issue. Cons: Joe is very laid back, which makes him really easy to work with, but he's not much of a "paperwork" guy. Joe had written the quote on the pier layout, but I did not get a signed contract for services until after the work had been completed, which was a surprise. My tenant said his crew buried existing soaker hoses when they filled the holes with dirt. The shrubs which they put back are dying. Overall, I was pleased with Honesty Foundation and would use them again (although i hope I don't need them!). I have already recommended Joe and Honesty Foundation to a co-worker.

Great experience and would recommend others to use their services.

He followed through and he gave his estimate on time. The price was reasonable.

Joe was recommended to me a a P.E. structural engineer that I hired to evaluate the excessive settling I had at my townhouse, which was only 6 years old. They added approximately 40 piers under my unit, about about 30 under the other three units. The entire job took about 2 weeks. Joe admitted himself that he had massively underestimated how much work it would be to repair such a large building. But, true to his word, he honored the price that he originally quoted which was very good compared to some of the larger firms around town. I still own the townhouse and have had zero problems in the 5 years since the work was done. So I can truly say that he did what he promised. On a personal note, you will not find an easier to work with, more honest person than Joe Winter. I know he lost money on my project but that did not affect the quality of work he did, nor his professional attitude during the whole project.

Mr. Winters was very professional. He took time to explain to me what repairs that my home needed. His crew were on time every day, and worked very hard. I had inside and outside piers on my home. The concrete dust still worked its way behind the plastic sheeting that I covered with. I was surprised at how deep the piers were placed. Amazed to see my house raise. Some of the cracks in my walls closed completely. Mr. Winters advised that I wait for a few weeks to repair most of the cracks. Mr. Winters foreman on the job did a good job of overseeing the work. They broke water line pipes and repaired them as they went. They had one broken sprinkler line that a sprinkler company had to find and repair. Things that I wish I had done was move more of my furniture. I had moved most of my furniture, but not all of it. He had to move more to get to the foundation. I wish I had covered my carpet with plastic when it was pulled back. The concrete dust settles everywhere and that can not be helped. We had rain during this construction so lots of mud was tracked in, but the crew swept afterwards. Later I cleaned the floor with Purple Power that came from Home Depot. That took away that "earthy" smell from inside the house. I also wish I would have lifted up my small plants from the flower beds. I had a lot of bulbs planted and was not able to move them before the work. They removed some of the hedge, and replanted the large plants before they left. Overall, I am very pleased to have worked with Joe and his crew from Honesty Foundation.

Joe came to take a look at the house and see if work was needed. After reviewing both the inside and outside he came to the conclusion that nothing was needed at this time. Refreshing to have someone be honest. He was kind enough to look at all the areas that I had concerns about and explained what would cause them. I would recommend him to anyone and should I think I need foundation repairs in the future, I will be sure to call him.

The guy lived up to his name. He was honest and gave me a fair bid. He did the work that needed to be done. He was very professional and prompt. He said he would be there at 7:30 and he got there at 7:22. I hope I don’t have to use them again, but I would. He stayed on the job most of the time and his supervisor was there the whole time.

They communicated very well. I was happy with the work. The way they handle their business, I liked. There was no money up front at all, they didn't accept any money until the job was finished.

They did an excellent job. The work went much faster than I expected and they were very professional. The owner was there for job start and was there for most of the time. He asked my preferences on what and when and where for all the work and wouldn't do anything extra until he asked me first. The crew was great, very friendly and professional and never once saw any of them just standing around for more than a minute. The cleanup highly exceeded my expectations. They swept all the floors and even hosed off my driveway. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
