Pat Fitzgerald praises himself as the "# 2" Tx Vet Loan Officer. What he doesn't tell is that he will drive you to go Tx Vet conventional (appraisal done by a commercial company) vs. Tx Vet VA appraisers (saves Vet closing costs). VA appraiser has best interest of vet while the commercial appraiser has interest of the mortgage company. I instructed Pat I wanted Tx Vet VA several times and weeks before closing, and informed my builder of the same. The builder & I went into closing to find that Pat ignored my request & processed a Tx VA conventional loan. The result: He would get $3K more from the closing cost from my pocket. Very disappointed in his approach. My concern was shared by processing title company and builder. The builder pulled through for me and paid the additional cost that I would have needed to pay Pat to close on my house. Military vets beware and ensure you review your closing documents with your title company and realtor before signing closing paperwork.
