Darryl did a very thorough inspection and conducted himself in a very professional manner.  He explained his inspection findings in person on the day of the inspection and delivered the report the next day.  I got the peace of mind I needed to make a decision on the home that I was considering to buy.

It went very well. He was prompt, did the inspection quickly and we received an email copy the next day.

The Clouse family interaction was quick, responsive, and thorough.  We were in a bit of a time crunch and Teresa was polite and calming.  She scheduled Darryl to come out on short notice which was great.  We had contacted other inspectors but none would accomodate or even consider sqeezing us in.  Both times Darryl would arrive at the house early and I would meet up with him later to go over his findings.  He was very informative and gave accurate descriptions on current code and where the house was in relevance.  We were willing to make upgrades to our prospective new home but after the inspection we realized we were taking on too much thanks to a informative report.  That report was emailed to us in full before close of business the same day.  Once we had another house in sight we quickly contacted SAHI again and Darryl was quick to respond and made himself immediately available.  Once again we had a full imformative report both in hand by close of business the same day.  We have been living in our new home for almost six months now.

Teresa Clouse was very professional, always corresponded quickly, and was very understanding with my husband's and my work schedule.  At one point I was unable to give her the check, but explained that I was caught up and would give it to her the day after.  She didn't even make an issue of it and I gave her the check the next day without an issue.

Darryl Clouse scheduled the inspection immediately and was very thorough.  After the builders said that the inspection was unnecessary and a waste of money I was worried.  But Darryl discovered that there was no insulation in part of the attic.  He also found spots where there was insufficient insulation.  In the San Antonio summer our cooling costs would have been expensive had Darryl not done the inspection.  Supposedly the contractors that insulated our house were fired, but  I don't know if I believe that.

Darryl also discovered various other deficiencies that I would have missed.  The contractors were more willing to fix the deficencies after Darryl's inspection even though my husband had voiced his concerns before.

All in all the inspection was worth the money and if I ever had to buy a house in San Antonio again I would ask SAN ANTONIO HOME INSPECTORS to do the inspection.

Worry about what the home builder says.  Although, some home inspectors find small things so that you don't feel bad about spending the money, in this economy it's worth the money to ensure that you house was built right and that your house will be re-sellable in the future.

They did my home inspection, they were very infomative and helpful with explaining every part of the inspection, they were affordable and they were there on time, they did what they had to do and they were done, wasted no time. **and they have a military discout**

I contracted a home inspection for a condo based on the reviews from list members. However, I did not receive the same quality service others feel they experienced. Mr. Clouse did not provide an exhaustive review of the property and the final report did not address areas of concern that I identified specifically for you as noted to my agent and the inspection agency. Now I have a report that gives me some leverage for repairs but not replacement of items I wanted replaced. Furthermore, Mr. Clouse reported that the hvac unit was not vented and did not provide much detail, claiming he was not qualified to provide further input. Yet, the qualification is exactly what I would expect from a home inspector. After receiving the less than expected review, I had to hire another company to provide a more detailed report, costing much more than if I went with another company. If you a looking for a home inspector that can fully assess a property for purchase, then look elsewhere. This is not the company for you.

Everything went very smooth and we were very pleased with the service and information provided.

I was thinking of buying a foreclosure property. Darryl discovered signs of foundation breakage and suggested I get a plumber out because the water turn-on valve was padlocked. The plumber got the padlock removed and sure enough there were 2 gushers coming out of both sides of the concrete foundation. The seller subsequently lowered their asking price, but it was not enough to cover possible costs involved in fixing the foundation and plumbing problems. I did not buy the property. Darryl and the plumber saved me a lot of headaches!

Very well.  I enjoyed working with Rodney.  He was thorough, polite, and easy to talk to.  He went through the report with me immediately after the inspection, answered all my questions and explained my confusions, caught everything I saw and more, and his report was amazing!  So detailed, organized, and easy to determine the faults he found.  His report was well organized and contained great pictures that made it easy to find the problem areas.  He was honest to tell me which defincies were big and those that were minor.  And his estimate was on target and comparable to other inspectors in the area.

The inspection was performed on a new home and was extremely detailed from start to finish.  From what I saw, every component of the home was checked out with a fine-toothed comb.  I would recommend this company to anyone that needs a home inspection.  Mr. Clouse was very thorough and explained the pros and cons of the construction methods used by the builder.   As an added bonus, I even received a military discount.

Overall, they did a great job. Took about 4-5 hours, longer than I expected, but he was very thorough. Also, very informative and provided a PDF copy. Before he left, he went over the inspection with me.

Darryl found the source! He is so thorough. I have had two roofing companies out and they weren't able to find the source. Darryl found it on the roof and fixed it for me while he was on the roof. It was a plumbing vent that needed caulking. I am building a new house and will defnitely use him for my phase inspections this time around too!

Darryl Clouse of San Antonio Home Inspectors has inspected my former home in May 2003 and current home in August 2007. He's very thorough and takes the time to explain his report and to answer questions. Over the past few months we have had some cracking in our sheet rock and were concerned about possible foundation problems. We wanted to have this resolved before doing some other work on the house. I called Darryl to get his recommendation for a structural engineer. He offered to come out and look at our problem himself. He was at the house within 30 minutes and spent at least another 30 minutes looking over the situation. He offered up a couple of other options to try before getting a costly structural engineer. He didn't charge and wouldn't even accept a few dollars for gas.
