Royal Window Fashions provided superb service! They responded immediately to replace two lost curtain hooks. Not only did they personally deliver the hooks to our home within two days of our request, but they brought two extras and rehung the draperies to make sure everything looked perfect! It was no surprise to us that they had maintained their excellent standard of customer service that we experienced almost a year ago when we originally purchased the drapes. When we purchased the drapes, they came to our home with a wide selection of fabrics and provided expert advice on the style of drapes and types of fabrics that would compliment our home. We highly recommend anyone looking for beautiful custom made draperies and superb customer service to use this company.
The finished shades are beautiful.
The price I paid for the fabric was very high; I didn't comparison shop, so don't know ifthey inflated the price too much or not.
"Thank you for the review. I am so happy that you like your finished shades!! The specific color of fabric you picked was out of stock at the fabric mill. We did have to wait an additional two weeks for the material to arrive. The price was regular mark-up and not inflated. I just had to say that for others that may be reading this review. Thank you so much for saying that you would use our service again in the future and for taking the time to write a review. I look forward to working with you in the future!! Michael L. Roark - Sales Manager - Royal Window Fashions"
The initial deal was fine - took a week to get the quote back, but no problem.
The handymen came over to install the outlets and slapped up conduit in the quickest/easiest way possible. It is the level of finish you would expect in a utility shed. The conduit ran up the wall and across the ceiling with swoops and swags. The handymen were nice enough, but only dealt in cash. After complaining to Jim's secretary, I received a call from the handyman that he wanted to come back and put up more clips to prevent the sagging. I didn't want them back, because I did not have the confidence in the first pass of the job to give them another chance. I didn't feel the way it was done could be improved upon enough. I also wanted to seek Jim's expertise to see what else could be done. He could not be reached and was not proactive to check in with me on what could be done. Jim states he emailed me at some point, and I'm sure he did, but didn't receive the email (typo on the address?). Perhaps an old fashioned phone call is sometimes the best way.
The shade installation crew did a great job, however instantaneously recognized that I would require and quot;guide wiresand quot; to prevent the shades from being damaged in the wind. Turns out they were 100% right. I require guide wires because they flop around so much that I can't use them. The installation crew replied with a quote to add in guide wires for $382.20. I felt like this is the equivalent to ordering a new car and upon delivery, having to by wheels. Jim states he mentioned guide wires to me at some point during the sales consultation, but it was obviously a passing comment without emphasis. I'm sure I would have listened if he said I could not use my shades without them.
After writing an email to Jim's secretary explaining the issues I'm having with the shades and the guide wires that would be needed, no returned email or phone call. I called him this morning to tell him that I'm not satisfied with the fit and finish of the installation, and five minutes into the call, he places me on hold. Must be too busy with new customers now that I have paid him.
I called him back one hour later, and by that time I became angry and not open to give him a chance to make it right. Probably didn't matter though - I didn't get the impression for a second he would have made it right anyhow.
Overall - the hardware is probably OK to buy from Jim, but my recommendation is to work with someone else to advise you on what you need and the best way to do it in terms of hardware and craftsmen and also have them communicate with the craftsmen on a proper installation.
Let me know if you want pictures. I am currently trying to find someone who can help me make this right. In hindsight, I should have insisted Royal Window Fashions make this right, but like I indicated above, it didn't seem for a second on my follow-up phone call like customer satisfaction is a high priority.
