"The repair job was a difficult one but we did great on all aspects...am surprised he told the phone interviewer "B"s as couldn't have been better nor a cheaper price."
Bob also taught us how to do a caulk-and-paint job on the porch ourselves.
Bob is very thorough, very professional and very honest. I would recommend him without hesitation and hope to use him when we buy our new home
"Thanks! Great person & project to work with! I want to point out that this is a very historic home - over 100 years old. It had some challenging areas to renovate, but all went very well & we were able to match the old mortar colors perfectly. I am so glad people like the member take the time & money to restore & protect history as it deserves!!"
"Great AngiesList members to work with! I really like their selection of stone on the entire house & walls. This project was an additional, over 6' tall x over 60' long "L" shaped privacy wall, with stone covering block on our concrete & rebar footing. It is a 2" thin cut Lueders ledgestone that looks like the side view of 2" thick rough Travertine tile. It was a bit difficult to keep all in a straight line & tightly pushed together as was a drystacked look, but came out great. It is now my favorite stone as the ledgestone look is very classy & artistic. It looks more like a sculpture than a wall (as well as their entire very modern style home)! We also installed a thick polished smooth Leuders stone top cap on the entire wall. Thanks again!!"
Bob is a friendly guy that knows his work. He was pretty busy when I worked with him, but he was able to squeeze me in to do a job when another contractor left me with an unfinished project.
He was helpful and gave me a few different options for repairing the wall, including a more expensive option that would have been more perfect, or a value-engineered option that worked for me for this job. (If I didn't already have an unfinished wall there, it might have been different, but I just wanted it finished).
He had a good crew with enough guys to finish the work quickly, and he came back a few days later to check on how the concrete was curing, and to see if it needed any touchups.
In terms of design, this was a pretty simple job. Based on his pictures, it seems like he really shines on more complex masonry jobs, limestone walls, old brick and mortar restoration, etc., but for my little wall he did great.
"Glad to see that they are pleased & since April, with this severe drought, the repairs are still holding due to expansion/contraction. Am surprised at the B for price as that was a VERY cheap price as there where many cracks & we had several men doing it for for many hours. Also, I don't recall, but I've never had to make a client wait 3 weeks to get to their work. I remember had some rain periods back then in April though. Great people to work with & hope it holds up through the drought."
"Great AngiesList members to work with! We were VERY busy that month, with customers starting vacations & ready to do home improvements...ALL came in & wanting work to start at the same time. But we did them all, with hard work & long hours in the heat, no problem. However, I didn't have to pull a worker from another crew to finish this on time...they were the same as planned. We just got a one day late start as were still finishing another big job that took longer than thought, but we showed up & stayed there every day punctually for many days till finished, as was a very big job. Hope to work with them again in the future = great people! Thanks."
"Another great Angies'List member to work with! She had a large outdoor fireplace started by another company/worker & they never finished it. We came in to re-evaluate it & complete it for her. She is very artistic & we all came up with a solution on how to finish it correctly...looks great now! She knows how to do faux finishing paint details & is going to decorate the mantle herself. She had done faux work on various areas of her house that looks beautiful. I will hire her if I need faux painting! Thanks!"
"Am surprised at the "B" rating. This was a 2 story tall expansion joint on the house where the full sun hits. It had been previously filled with silicon several times by the builder & others later with an ugly mess & color. We covered it with a better mortar color to fill & cosmetically cover it. Nothing more can be done by anyone or any product = the house is slighty sinking & spltiting down the very tall middle. Especially with this severe drought, I told him to water the slab. That side of the house is always in direct full sun & is contracting & expanding daily. We even rushed back there when he called & touched up a SMALL HAIRLINE crack that formed (what he is referring to for the "B") the 2nd time for free."
Bob is a very pleasant man to work with.
He had the frame work for the concrete done on the day he set up to be there (which was a big job). The concrete was poured two days later ( we lost a day because of rain) and all was finished on time and on budget!
