Mr. Brader inspected everything and explained clearly the issues that did and did not appear. He explained all the steps and what the information meant. He also pointed out that the builder had done an excellent job of sealing and insulating the house so that there wasn't much to be gained in that area. (Nice to know what work does NOT need to be done!) He also identified some problems with my HVAC ductwork and what might be needed to improved temperature control in my house.
Mr. Brader was careful, conscientious, and thorough, spending more time talking and explaining than I expected. I do feel that, as a result, I know exactly what my HVAC system will need going forward. As a result, I will certainly consider using Jon Wayne for the work.

  • He told me that the rubber ring was 99 dollars and I had already paid my price for the visit thru you guys.    I asked a plumber today and there service is 99 dollars and rubber ring is around 3 or 4 dollars.  Kind of feel lied to from the service guy that  he misrepresented himself about prices,  I a a female not knowing how much plumbing stuff cost so believed him but just seemed like a lot of money not sure whether I would use them again,   Feel like by the time I paid you  around 30 dollars and paid him 99 dollars that is 130 dollars   The plumber I was talking to would have cost me 103 approximately so do not know how cheap it is to use services, except you screen them   Thank you for listening.

They were wonderful, above and beyond! They came in January on their day off on Saturday and stayed all day to get my heat working downstairs. They came back and fixed the upstairs heat on Monday. They did an awesome job! It worked and we are very pleased!

The repairs made were possibly necessary, but the part that upsets me is the ad says $189 to service the units. No mention that there might be "other costs." I was not shown the replacement parts so I had to take their word that they were bad, (both air units were working prior to the call) He did show me a picture of a rat that had gotten in the outside unit.  The fact that I was charged $1,036.00 when I expected $369,  (cost of a "deluxe service") was indeed a shock.

I wish now I had referred to Angies list instead of an ad. I will not use them in the future

I'm still in shock and must admit, I laughed 'til I cried after this service call.   I just don't understand what happened.  The young tech lifted the top off the tank of my 5-6 year old Kohler comfort-height toilet to view the worn flap lying on the bottom of said tank.  He looked inside and confirmed what I reported to the scheduling clerk: the flap needs to be replaced.  The technician (who was a very nice and courteous young man), commented on how new the toilet appeared and then began working up the estimate for replacing and installing the flap. After taking a good deal of time searching his iPAD or other device, the tech presented "three options" for the repair all of which cost more than what I paid for the toilet itself.  After stuffing my eyes back into their sockets, I asked him to explain the cheapest option to me.  I'm a retired college professor and I don't think I could explain this situation for a million dollars. Since I am already a customer from the purchase of a heating and air conditioning system a few years ago, I already pay them a monthly fee for service contract.  This toilet was not purchased with them and it really makes no sense to pay an additional monthly fee in case this toilet requires another $10 flap in the future.
I suppose my age is the problem.  It used to be that you could call a "plumber" to make all types of "plumbing" repairs.  Being a senior, I thought I would receive my 10% senior discount, wait about 20-30 minutes, and my toilet would once again function perfectly as it had before.  I don't understand these new methods of pricing which may not be, but appear unscrupulous to some of us.
My recommendation is to only use Jon Wayne for major AC/Heating system purchases, but hire a handyman for minor repairs.

Jon Wayne's master plummer Troy took one look and knew what the problem was.  He proceeded to fix the faucet quickly and efficiently.  Troy was extremely professional and personable during the whole appointment.
Another representative, Christina, made the appointment and then followed up with a reminder of the appointment.  Because of an unforeseen complication with the appointment before me, Christina called to inform the plummer was running late, but would advise me as soon as he was coming.  She was  very pleasant and helpful with the whole situation.
Great job by good people

They told me they were going to charge me to come out and would not apply that to any repairs, so I will not be using them.

Our central air unit all of a sudden stopped working. We called Jon Wayne since we had used them before to move our outside unit and they had seemed very professional (this is integral to the story). The technician arrived on time and entered the home. We explained the situation and he proceeded to the attic to find a problem. Unknown to the technician we had entered the attic the night before to check the unit and taken some photos of the wiring we as were installing a nest thermostat in the living room. The technician came down from the attic and informed us that our unit was not running due to a blown fuse and the wiring appeared to have been yanked out and it should have never been running. He did correctly inform us that the fuse was blown while installing the thermostat due to not flipping both breakers to the unit. We informed him it was a newly built home and the unit had been running for the past two years. The technician then informed us that it would have never run from day 1 and it looked as if someone had yanked the wiring out and he would be unable to leave it as it and would need to rewire it. We declined on this offer since we had no problem and informed him that the only people who had messed with the wiring would be his company since they had moved the outside unit. He then informed us they would not leave the wiring like that and someone had to of yanked them out. I then proceeded to inform the man of the photos I had taken and asked him kindly to show me which wires appeared to be yanked out. The man gave me a shocked face and asked why I had taken pictures. I informed him why and he said he would need to call his supervisor. He then returned in and said they would leave it as it is but we would need it rewired at some point and would fix the fuse. After a short time he returned down and made sure the unit was working. Now it was time for his fee which was roughly around $256 just for a "blown fuse." We paid the man. My son who was angry called and spoke with a manager who made it appear we were trying to set the technician in a trap by taking photos of the wiring before they had arrived. He then informed us the technician's fee was for rewiring of the central unit, replacing a $10 fuse and rewiring of the living room thermostat (from the attic to the thermostat). The only work the technician informed us he completed was replacement of the fuse which is also what his work order stated. The manager provided no resolution and maintained that we were trying to set up the technician and took a month to cash the check. We opted to not speak to him directly. Last night we had to enter the attic for the same problem and attempted to find the fuse to replace it ourselves. Low and behold our unit does NOT have any type of fuse but an actual breaker switch on the unit itself. So the only work the technician actually did was sit in our attic for a bit to make us think he was working and flipped a switch. Be warned as the technicians DO work on commission and are always trying to up sell you new products including a whole new unit (which they had already tried to do to us on a 2 year old unit). Be cautious with this company as they're out for money only.

tA/C went out in the house.  I received a quote from one company and decided to get a second quote since we were talking over $6,000.  Called at 0730 and was told they would get someone out there by 1100 and they would call before arrival.  I left my work number and cell number.  At 1030 I called and asked for a status and was told that the technician was finishing up and would be leaving for my address soon.  I told the representative on the phone to ensure they call my cell number since I was leaving my office.  She said she would annotate that.  At 1130 I called and asked for a status since I have not heard anything from the technician.  I was told he was held up at the job and finishing up soon.  I again told the representative to ensure they call my cell number.  1230 comes and I again called to ask for a status. I was told that the technician was running late and that the next available technician will be sent to my address.  1300 comes and I called AGAIN for a status since it is now 2 hours past my scheduled time.  The representative on the phone told me that she called my office and left a message and the cell phone number she called said "service unavailable".  I asked if she tried the number again and she stated "they are too busy for call numbers back and move on".  I was very upset by this comment since I have made every effort to ensure I could be reached. I asked to speak with the manager and she stated "there are a few managers".  I then asked her "could I speak to at least one of them?"  I spoke with a manager and told the above situation and stated I was not impressed with the way everything has played out and the comments made by the representative.  He apologized and said he would call me back in just a few minutes to see if he could get the next technician out.  When he called back he said that a technician would be finishing up in 10-15 minutes and be heading to my address.  I asked if he was in the local area and he stated he was on the other side of town (45 minute drive).  At this point I was just fed up with the wasted time and the complete lack if interest in a potential customer.  I figured I would be treated better for the amount of money I was going to be spending.

I have decided to go with the first company since they have bent over backwards to ensure I was happy...even spoke directly to the owner on a few occasions!

We had a leak in a pipe in our front yard, my husband dug up the pipe and located the source of the leak.  We had to turn off the water to our house.  After calling several plumbers that couldn't come out for at least a day we called John Wayne.  They have a price ladder for the service call based on how fast you want them to come out.  We paid for the highest priority which was about two hours before the plumber got here.  Since my husband had already located the problem the plumber basically said he could fix it and gave us a quote for the repair. Not only did we paid for the repair the cost of the service call was separate.
I feel as though John Wayne takes advantage of emergency situations by price gouging on the service call.  Since we were in a desperate situation we had the repair done.
We will not use them in the future.
