We have used them to replace two different units in two different homes and they do it quickly, professionally and without leaving any mess behind. The name says it all! The BEST!!! They came out and took the "best" care of us. Follow up was amazing and the technicians were friendly, hard working and on time. The work was complete, affordable, and honest. NO trying to get me to buy something extra or side sale me. Here's our story.... So my husband and I were sitting on the couch on the first 90 degree day of the year and I look over at our thermostat on the wall and distress filled my body...The thermostat said 77 and it was set to 73, fear set in because this has happened ALOT of times before, too many repair times to even remember. So many times that 4 years ago, we hired Will FixIt (DO NOT RECOMMEND) to come out and replace the whole system so we could not have any more A/C issues. When we bought the new system it was $12K and we declined the labor warranty that was an extra $1000 because we thought, we just bought a new system, we won't need any repairs for a while.... MAN WERE WE WRONG :( we had to have them come out w/i 18 months because the BRAND new system wasn't working, turns out the evaporator coil was leaking and we needed it replaced, the part was under warranty but the labor was $1400!!!!Then 10 months later, the system stopped working AGAIN, this time the capacitor, the service charge plus labor was $300, they also put some freon in the system because it was low, willfixit said it was because the system was working so hard, thats why it was low... Then in early April 2020, it happened! The A/C went out AGAIN!!!! I had decided that we had had enough of WILLFIXIT's will not fix issue/attitude. I am a nurse in the ICU and a few months ago I met some wonderful people at the hospital that recommended George Best A/C if I ever had any issues again. So when the A/C went out this time, I called them first thing in the morning. Gay, (later I found out was the owner) answered the phone and was very polite and scheduled for later that day, the guys came out (Louis and Wade) and looked outside and ran numbers and said the pressures and freon were low, that that meant there was a leak somewhere, they got out their Leak detector...checked outside; no leak, then came inside..wiped their feet, wore a mask and booties and hand sanitized before coming in; They went into the attic and there it was, beeping like CRAZY, the evaporator coil was leaking..(dramatic music played in my head) The guys called Gay and told her what was going on, she assured me that they would get it taken care of and they would make sure we were not without A/C. Gay and the guys went above and beyond contacting Lennox and arranging all the details to get my A/C fixed, and it was NO WHERE NEAR $1400 to fix it. They really took the stress and worry out of this whole process and we ran into some snags with getting the right coil in our system (that was a Lennox issue, which by the way I found out that Lennox has an agreement with WillFixIt that gets them crazy good pricing, then they make a crazy retail off it) George Best A/C found the problem, found an AFFORDABLE, COMPLETE solution and took great care of us. My husband and I work in the hospital and things are very stressful right now, I can honestly say that George Best went above and beyond to make sure that this repair and that keeping our home cool was not one of those stresses. They have a customer and recommendation from me for life! Definitely hire George Best to do your work!!!!

We initially went with George Best based on a friend's recommendation, and all their positive reviews. We have used George Best for years to service our three air conditioning units and all prior experiences have been positive. I can't tell you how honestly surprised as well as disappointed in their service this year. What a change from all my prior interactions with them. A couple of years ago they informed us that we had to replace one of our AC coils which we did. This year we noted that one of our units was not cooling. This year we called for service when one of units was not cooling as well as in the past and the technician stated that everything checked out normally, but recommended that we change out our capacitors as they were getting old and less efficient and if they went out they could damage the motor. We went ahead and replaced the capacitors on all three units for $330. We were hoping the capacitors might be a factor in why the one unit was working so poorly this season, as the technician had no other recommendations. After replacing the capacitors we noted that the problems unit was performing even worse, so we called George Best back out a couple of days later. The technician this time informed us that they had not sealed the plug on the unit and that the coolant which was normal on the prior visit had now leaked out. Being they were the cause of it they agreed to not charge us for the full service, but would charge us $90 to recharge to coolant. Today we noted that the unit was still performing poorly, when we called to discuss with George Best the woman on the phone (not the technician) stated that the reason the unit was not cooling was because it needed to have it's coil replaced, and they had informed us of that last year, and to do so would be an additional $1500. In our two service visits the technician had never mentioned that we needed to have a coil replaced. When they said we needed a coil replaced on the other unit 2 years ago we did it without hesitation. We followed every recommendation the technicians had to get our units working optimally. I am honestly dumbfounded as the technician never mentioned any other recommendations, and why would we have put $420 into the unit if this wasn't the cause of the problem in the first place. I would never us this company again as I think they are dishonest, or inept.

Their professionalism, especially in these days and times, is great. A lot of people have tried to scam us but not George Best. We highly recommend them to others and are blessed to have their honesty and integrity.

Last year we were looking for a good ac team and we called George Best, Gay was very helpful and Tony was able to fix the compressor at the rental house for $280, another ac team (also found in Angie's list) could not fix the unit and said we needed $6k replacement. So we have been using George Best for a year now and have been happy with them, The latest thing is that the drain pan on our 35yr old air handler cracked. The whole unit had to be replaced and installed a new one, they did it in 2 days and worked hard to make sure it was correct, again Tony and another tech worked on it. The house smells so fresh with the new unit and uses less power, I have recommended Best to other people.

He is really good. It is family owned and operated.

the first hvac company said our compressor was shot and we needed a $5,000 replacement unit, George Best came and fixed it in 2 hours for $250 AND corrected the cutoff switch and whip(wiring) which first guy did not even identify as damaged, so I would have spent $5k and not have been fixed correctly.Thank you Best. The only reason I do not give A on punctuality is that on the first time we called them the previous week, they did not show up for the appointment.

bi annual check up and replaced a part great, we have used this company in our family for the past 15 years and never had a problem

They are very honest, hardworking, and reasonable people. Their pricing is very reasonable and they do not do work that is not needed. I had compressor that made a lot of noise, so another company said I would have to replace the compressor for $1,400. My friend told me to contact George's and I just needed a part that cost just $64. My unit went out on a Saturday night and they came out on a Sunday at no additional charge and were able to fix it, no problem.

He is very friendly, knowledgeable, good prices. and has great customer service. He does not rush the job.

Our furnace stopped working on a Monday and they came to our house within a few hours of my call. They tried to repair the unit which was very old for several hours. As they were not able to fix they quoted several options. I got another 2 companies to quote replacing the unit as well. They had the best price / quality for my money. They day of installation they showed up at 8 am... The installer Tony stayed until almost 9 pm to make sure we would have heat before going to bed. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure it was done right....

We have been using them since 1976 or 1977. We have had other companies over the years but we always go back to George Best never really happy with anyone else. They are very courteous, its almost like having family, they are very personable. Their prices are very reasonable. They are prompt as well. When its over 100 degrees out side and the air is not working getting them here right away is important and they always are. They are very honest. When we were in our other home about 15 years ago, we couldn't reach him so we contacted someone else and they gave us an outrageous price so we finally got a hold of Mr. Best and he came out and said no you don't need that what the other company had said. He got us back up an running in no time. He is really great. When we moved we were kind of out of his area so we were worried they would not be able to come out here but they do. Its a family owned business so you get to know the people. They really do excellent work.

Have done business with George, his son, Gay and the crew since 2006. The company carries George's last name--BEST--for a reason! They helped me extend the life of the Lennox AC system to 17 years before the compressor unit finally died in this summer's heat. We had a new Trane exterior unit installed and it is running perfectly. George Jr. came out to do the diagnostic on a Saturday morning with temperatures already in the mid 90s. He checked everything and explained what every reading meant. Professional and courteous in every way; George Jr and Sr discussed options with us and never pressured us in the least. First thing Monday morning, as soon as the Trane distributor opened, George Sr ordered our new unit and Tony, the lead technician and his assistant, were at the house within 2 hours. I had to travel on business that Monday, but my wife met Tony and crew when they arrived. They went straight to work and stuck with it until the new system was installed, checked and balanced before they went on to another house call that afternoon.

I love George Best!!! This is the BEST air-conditioning company I've ever dealt with. While checking out my heater, they also checked out my air conditioner and found a starter capacitor that was very weak (would have gone out probably in the heat of summer). They showed me the reading on the Ohm meter and it was way below what it should have been. I had them change that while they were there so I was also ready for summer. There's nothing worse than having your air-conditioner take a dump when it's 100 degrees out! I was glad to have a chance to get some preventative maintenance without paying a SECOND service call in the heat of summer (and probably having to wait a few days!). George Best installed my last air-conditioner 12 years ago and it's still going strong. I swear by these guys.

For the most part, everything went well...when they finally came out for the service call. It took almost a week and two cancelled appointments...cancelled by them to work trouble reports. One more cancellation would have resulted in my calling in a trouble report on my A/C units. Also, I was not told the cost of the R22 freon until after everything was completed and the service rep. wrote up the invoice.

They do a good job and they are reasonably priced.

Our A/C unit downstairs was blowing, but not cold air. This morning, I called based on what I read here on Angie's List. It was very early but a sweet lady answered the phone anyway, and she told me that the gentlemen had a pretty busy day lined up, but she thought she could get us a visit this afternoon. So I started my day. About 9:30, I got a phone call that they would be right out! Hurray! They came out and fixed the problem: 4 burned out capacitors. They also checked both A/C systems. They were quick, kind, and honest. We will definitely use them again and are grateful they could come out to help so fast.

I called and i was told they would try to come today but it could be tomorrow. I received call back about 3 hours later and they met me @ the house punctually. George and Tony were professional, courteous and worked well together. they cleaned up after completeing the job in about 1 hour. I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased with the quality of work, their honesty and their punctuality.

Went smoothly. George and Tony always do a professional job.

A fifteen minute service call, with minimal charge for time and travel ($25).

The experience was very good. They had to do a very difficult installation on the furnace because it was situated in the attic. They had to disassemble the new one to take it up and put it in the attic. They stayed as late as it took to get it done.

I live outside of the area and I trust them to take care of needs when my usual guys can't make it.

The owner is a respectable person who cares about his customers. I have used their services in the past and have always been satisfied. They are great to work with.
