Septic Tank Cleaning or Pump Out
Eberle quoted a price for pumping out the septic tank ($499 up to 1000 gallons) then continued to add additional charges for every and additional service, such as, finding the septic tank ($300) and clearing out the clogged line ($500). We found the tank ourselves then agreed to have him pump it out for $499. After he finished the job, he said our tank was 1050 gallons and charged an additional $245, plus tax for a total of $812.67. He also told me at the time of payment, that if I paid with cash, it would cost $500 (a savings of $300), otherwise it was $812.67. The bank was closed so I could not get cash. He would not accept cash the next day, had to be at time he finished the job. Sounds shady to me. Also, if paid with credit card, he would add the merchant processing fee. which was another $30. As business owners ourselves, we believe this young man has a lot to learn about business and customer service. I will not be hiring him again.
Response from Eberle Septic

"Hi Ms. [Consumer Name Removed], It seems your main concern was not with the service I provided, but with the pricing?something that was clearly explained ahead of time to you, your husband, and your employee. I came out not once, but twice, to address your situation, including returning at no additional cost due to your initial hesitation about paying for extra work. When I arrived, your system was backed up and showing clear signs of neglect and underlying issues, all of which I explained in detail. Despite that, I completed the work to the best of my ability under the circumstances and made sure you understood the condition your system was in. You chose"

Septic Tank Cleaning or Pump Out
On Nov. 24 Eberle Septic (ES) pumped out my septic tank discovered the tank had collapsed required replacement. He is only licensed to pump tanks & is proficient, albeit messy. He offered to find a septic company/installer quoted $12K for new system- tank, leach lines, labor. He  subcontracted, Salmeron Septic. Chad needed to be paid in cash because his subcontractor had to purchase tank, rent trailer backhoe. Chad pledged he would handle everything & be on-site to supervise the entire process said install would take 2 days. Initial install  (Dec. 8) was rescheduled due to rain.  After the old tank was removed, the install was scheduled for Dec 15. Kyle did not show up or contact Chad. 3 days later it was discovered Kyle was in the hospital. This turned out to be a significant issue. Kyle has had a chronic and debilitating disease for years, he was completely incapable of functioning and never should have accepted the job. Chad told me his subcontractor was excellent, this was their family business.  Many work days were cancelled or Kyle would arrive, stare at the job and leave because he was too sick. I went 5 weeks with a giant crater in my yard, no septic system. My clothing, carpet, couch, bed, air, everything, was saturated in septic odor.  Chad disappeared after he got his money, I never saw him again, though he promised to oversee the install. Because I was working and Chad never showed up, I hired a man to oversee the work and workers at $200/day ($400 total) for the two days predicted for the install. Day 2 Kyle was again a no-show, so my hire got paid $200 as promised, but with no one to supervise he got a day off- paid. Several days later Kyle?s step-father arrived with a 1000 gal tank for a 500 gal hole. The 1000 gal tank sat in my yard for about 7 days.  On Jan. 7 Kyle appeared, dropped the tank in the hole, I don't know if it is connected to the old leach field or not (I paid for a new leach field, but never got it), then left the job incomplete. He does not respond to emails or calls. I specifically asked Kyle not to spread the contaminated rock and soil from the dig over the yard, my landscaper was coming to remove it. He spread it over the yard any way. He left my fence and irrigation system in pieces. He damaged a tree, it must be cut down It must be cut down. He spread the contaminated soil over newly  landscaped property, over new topsoil and new St. Augustine. The cost of the septic tank is one thing. The mounting cost of the damage is mind boggling. Nothing can be done unless I hire an attorney and sue him. Angi.com is not responsible for the havoc wreaked.
Response from Eberle Septic

"Hi Ms. [Consumer Name Removed], I wanted to kindly clarify that our company did not install your septic system. We respectfully ask that you remove or redirect your review to the correct company responsible for the installation. We strive to maintain honest and accurate feedback and would appreciate your help in keeping that standard. Thank you for your understanding, Eberle Septic"

Good job. Got to work immediately and was finished in about 1/2 hour. They knew what needed to be done and seemed quite experienced. The main thing is that the tank is pumped out, no mess and no complications. We agreed on a price for the job and that is what I paid. Watch out for companies that give you an open ended quote and tell you about charges that will depend upon ... .
