Culligan of San Antonio

We hired Culligan to install a water softener and reverse osmosis less than 2 years ago. We paid close to $7000. We noticed that one of the pipes they installed next to my foundation started leaking so we called them to repair it. They told us that it was out of warranty and that it would be $100 an hour to fix it. I called the salesman who sold the equipment, he did not return our call. I called the service manager, he stepped out of the office for one hour. So, I talked to Bill, the General Manager. He started arguing with me and saying that the plumbing was guaranteed for only one year. I responded that with the quality work, equipment, and service they advertise, you would expect it to last several years and not start leaking within 2 years of installment! Obviously, this company does not honor the reputation it advertises!

Culligan stood me up twice for a quote on installing a water softener. So unprofessional, I would not recommend using this company.

Raymond showed up on time and was very professional and friendly. Yes, these two assets can coexist. I explained my problem (salt in water on one occasion) and he explained why that happened. He reset my unit to the proper settings and diagnosed a worn position (it was 9 years old). He replaced the piston and the noise is gone. He showed me how to reset after power failures and even wrote the settings down in the table inside the unit for my reference. I very much appreciated that. I am most happy with the Culligan unit and the service that Raymond provided.

i needed service and they were able to give me a quick appointment. The serviceman was professional and gave much needed advice on self maintenance. Did not try to sell me a new system even though mine was quite old.

I've had them for years and they always have been very competent and very efficient.

They made 3 trips to my home. One to inspect, another for pick-up, and another for delivery and install. It turns out that the system hasn't worked properly in two years. Hector took the time to explain to me exactly why it wasn't working and the options I had to replace it along with a tutorial on how the thing actually works. It was very informative and now I have a better understanding of the technology though I'd obviously call Culligan before working on it myself. Culligan completed the work within a couple of days and set it up perfectly. Great job, very courteous, and timely. Seriously. The guy said he'd be there at 2 and was calling me at 1:45. That never happens, so we were very appreciative. In fact, he did the installation so quickly that I was unable to get there in time to ask him a couple of other questions. No bother, I just called the office and one of the guys explained it to me. Great experience all around!

They arrived on time, got right to work, explained what to expect, and gave notice prior to water shut off - no problems.

I didn’t believe all the stuff the salesperson was telling us, and every bit of it has been true. Our salesperson's first name was Linda. They are a national company. We pay them monthly, because it's just simpler for us. It's a little expensive, but it's easier for us. In July, the installed our water softener in a house that was not pre-plumbed for it. It went great overall. I think that one way we can measure the attitude of a company is what happens if there is a minor hitch. There was one minor hitch. As soon as they became aware of it, they were all over it and fixed it. It was fantastic. There was one person who messed up. Everybody else was all over it fixing it. We are still using them, and we would recommend them to anyone who has the same situation that we had. We have a house that isn’t pre-plumbed for a water softener.

Eric arrived and performed the service in a timely fashion and gave a great explanation.

Richard came to my home and explained the different systems that I could choose from to have installed in my home.  He was very informative and professional. This was on July 16, 2014.  The next day I had Culligan call me and set up an instillation date which was July 23, 2014 at 8:30.  Three gentlemen arrived at 8:30 on the date stated.  First they checked out my garage and attic to decided where the softener should go and the best way to enter my home. They went over everything they were going to do explaining just how they were going to install the softener. Two men then dug up a trench in my yard to my house  where they were going to lay the piping. At this time, the third gentleman was installing the water purification system in my kitchen. Before the insulation he explained everything he was going to do and how he was going to run the piping to the back of my refrigerator.  When the purification system was installed he joined the other two men to work in the garage on the softener instillation.  They went into the attic  and made two small holes where they fed a water pipe and wiring down from the ceiling to the outlet in the garage. When they were finished they cleaned up the area and took time to explain how the system worked.  Later that day when I ran my sprinkler system in one area water was just coming up from the ground.  I called Richard right away and he had someone at my home the next morning at 8:00.  The gentleman found out the one of the pipes to the sprinkler system had accidentally broken. He then replaced the pipe and checked out my sprinkler to make sure it was running correctly.  With in a week of the instillation Richard returned to my home to check out the water softener and the water purification unit to make sure it was installed correctly. He also walked me through the steps on how to use the systems. He was very professional and told me if I had any problems to just call him.  Since the instillation all systems are working well. I am also very pleased that I have a warranty for the  next three years for parts, labor and service. I would recommend this company they were punctual, courteous, and did exactly what they said they would do.
