 + -1 moreWe have used him for years. I haven't used him recently. He is reliable. He has his own little business. I trust them. We just never had any problem. The owner always talks to us personally and I just trust him. We have two Toyotas and the dealership has told us that we needed all kinds of repairs. We take it to Blackmon, he checks it all over, we don't see anything and he tells us what he's trying or what he doesn't try. We have the paper that the dealership gave us and he said, I checked this and you don't need it.
Description of Work: Every time I drive into Mexico because we have a home down in Mexico. We always take the car in, have him check it over and do any repairs.

When he tells you that something needs to be done, it really does need to be done. He will tell you if it's something that can be delayed safely. I give my highest recommendation to Paul Blackmon and his team. They are throughly professional and honest.

 + -1 moreThis started out as a possible serious problem and ended with a relatively inexpensive repair. The car runs fine. Do trust Blackmon's garage!
Description of Work: I had purchased a used car for my daughter. After several days the engine light came on. I took it to Mr. Blackmon, and he said this could mean something serious, such as the fuel injection system or such, and could run up to $6-800. I told him to go ahead and do what he could, that I figured I didn't have any options. Later that afternoon he called and said that they found the problem on pg. 3 of an 85-page protocol, and it was a relatively easy fix. This is a shop you can depend on to be honest and fair.

 + -1 moreWhen the engine light came one in our old van, we expected our most recent repair would be a big one. Instead, they found a minor problem and charged accordingly, only $85 and the car runs like new.
Description of Work: This is a small, locally owned garage. When we first moved to San Antonio, I tried at three franchise type auto service businesses to find someone who would cut off a bolt on my out-of-state license plate so I could replace with TX plates, no one would bother with it, but finally a mechanic recommended this little garage down the street. At Blackmon's, they not only cut off the bolt on the spot, they didn't charge for doing it. We have used their services regularly for three years now, for brakes, engine repair, and AC servicing. I have been very impressed with their professionalism and their integrity.

 + -1 moreHe has done several things for us. When he looks at your car, he is not out to get you. He is very honest. When he looks at something and doesn't find the problem, he won't charge you. I'm sure this is not the case all the time, but the point is, he tries to look out for your best interests. He is also very good at what he does--we have never had to take anything back. Would highly recommend.
