 The technician showed up right on time and assessed the problem to be a leak in my evaporator coil. He was able to get the part covered under warranty and gave me a reasonable quote for the labor to repair. He recharged my unit so it would last until they could get the part and schedule service. I was contacted the next morning by the office, scheduled a service date and then was called back as soon as they go the part. The 2 technicians that showed up were on time and extremely knowledgeable, nicely dressed and as nice as could be! Issac and Alyandro were great to deal with and made it easy to get my A/C replaced. I was so impressed I had the do a service at my mother's house. I will use no one else in San Antonio for my A/C repairs.

Woke up this morning and my residential A/C unit was blowing out hot air on a soon to be 100 degree day.  Called Airtron at 7AM and was told a technician would call me between 1pm - 10pm.  Went to work and at 8AM (1 hour later) got a call from Airtron Tech Billy who told me he was already enroute to my house.  Went back to my house and he arrived shortly after.  He introduced himself, put his little booties on, and came inside and looked at my unit.  He said everything looked good on the inside and asked me to show him the outside unit.  I took him to it, he took the panel off and started testing the inside components with a voltage meter.  He quickly determined my capacitor was dead.  He quoted me different prices depending upon how long a warranty I wanted (1 year vs lifetime).  I selected the one with the lifetime warranty and he went to his truck and came back and replaced it.  After that he borrowed my hose to get my fan working again and in no time my a/c unit came back to life.  Overall I was very happy he came as quickly as he did, quickly determined the problem and fixed it for a fair price.  Billy from Canyon Lake was great.

I have been with Airtron for 10 years now and this is the first time I was scammed. They are not cheap but in the past I always felt that I got service worth the money I paid but not this time. They added 2 pounds of refrigerant and charged me 500 dollars. The refrigerant is worth $10/pound. I called multiple companies after the incident and they told me if the tech was already in the house I should be charged between $50-70 /pound.

I called Airtron and they told me that they charge a flat fee and it does not matter if it was 2 pounds or 10 pounds. It is my fault I should have stopped the work and called other companies to ask for the price but since I was with Airtron for that long I did not expect them to do this.

I am very disappointed to see a good company resort to these kind of tactics to make more money.

As Airtron originally installed the A/C & Heating unit in my home when new in 2008, I took them up on their tune-up offer I received in the mail this year.  Today, Mario, the tech, came out & did a wonderful job.  He was extremely thorough with his tune-up (much appreciated) and was even authorized to address an additional concern with the venting at no extra charge.  There was no up-sell or gimmicks.  I recommend them & will no be a permanent subscriber to their preventive maintenance.  I would also like to add that their last service on my unit was 3 years ago, when they fixed the A/C at no charge even though it was 6 months out of warranty!

Everytime they came out they were trying to sell something to us, and always trying to hike up the price on repairs.

I came come from a trip to the East Coast to put my mom on Hospice and arrived to find my air conditioning was not working (it was near 100 degrees outside and in the high eighties in my house, not fun. I purchased my new AC unit in 2009 from Airtron and called them to come out. Repairmen was there within 3 hours of my call and quickly discovere I needed I needed a new capacitor. It was under warrenty and thus part and labor was free. He replaced and in less than an hour, AC came back on. Technician explained it would take 24 hours or more to get entire home cool; he was right. Technician was very professional and performed work quickly and correctly, what a relief. No AC in August in Texas is no fun.

They come out twice a year. They are very thorough. The people they send out are very knowledgeable. If anything is not right, they fix it. It is under a contract and they have kept my systems running. They come out quickly when I call them and my unit is still under warranty and they have contacted the factory so they can handle the warranty. They do everything for me.

We have a contract that takes care of our heating and air conditioning services. We have had the contract since we purchased our home. They have never given us any reason to not be with them and have had a contract with them for about the last eight years. They come every six months on a regular basis and call to schedule appointments when they are due. They are excellent, I think. They service our units and check everything out to make sure they are running efficiently and as they are supposed to. They do any type of maintenance that needs to be taken care of. Their quality is excellent, I think. We have had one instance during the winter where we had to call them to come and take care of something and they were here within a couple of days. They always give me a 30 minute call to let me know they are coming and they are always right on time. They are very professional and show me ID when they come. They are very courteous and wear little booties on their shoes when they come into my home so they don't dirty my floors.

It seems the techs get a commission on work performed.  We've had an annual service agreement with this company for many years, for years they added freon then all of a sudden we need a new one because it leaks.. Why didn't you do this in warranty when you kept adding freon?  3 months ago they said I needed a new capacitor even though nothing had changed & was working fine.  Now the unit is grounded out & they say I need a complete replacement for 5K$.  They were supposed to be here at 930AM at 10AM I called & was told NO it was for 1PM.  I was standing next to the tech last Sunday when he called for prices & date to do the work.  It's 145P & I have not heard from them yet.
Never again!!

Sorry I didn't see the update button until I filed another complaint that they did not honor the 10% senior discount offered on their Angie's List page.

We have used Airtron since we built our house in 2005.  They installed the original unit and have serviced it  well ever since.  I did not use the highest efficiency filters in the beginning and the evaporator coils eventually clogged up causing the  Freon to get too cold. That led to condensate getting into the electrical parts.  So I bit the bullet and ordered a new 15 SEER Trane unit.  The technicians, Cody and Justin, who work only on installing new units, arrived as scheduled and replaced the unit in about 3 1/2 hours. The knew what they were doing and left everything clean.  They explained how to use the new thermostat.  We are very satisfied with the job they did and will continue to use Airtron for maintenance on the new unit.  I did cancel our monthly maintenance agreement because the new A/C has a one-year parts and labor guarantee along with the normal 10-year warranty on the compressor, etc.   When the full one--year parts and labor guarantee expires we will get back into the monthly maintenance program, because it served us well in the past.
