Very knowledgable and helpful. Patient while I made up my mind. I got a new front door with a glass storm door. He was helpful making selection. Had samples and pictures of other work he had done. Had different manufactures to select from. Arrived as scheduled and completed installation in the amount of time estimated. Personable gentleman felt comfortable working with. The door was great so I asked him back to install 7 windows. Very happy with them. Really do reduce heat coming in even in direct sunlight just like he demoed. They cleaned up before they left. I plan to have them back to replace the rest of my old windows.

Tom Herold walked out of another decade. This is an old school craftsman who takes pride in his work. The door I had was rotted as was the frame. He came out on a Friday and stayed with his helper (also first class) for over 6 hours. The result was excellent. I had several other contractors quote the project - some I got from Home Depot. Tom is in a different league. The door required a custom measurement. He gave great advice on what I needed and called me when it was complete.
I read a couple of reviews that said they were unable to connect with him. I had a missed connection too at the beginning but that is because Tom is in demand. If you try to reach him and don't connect - try again - you will be glad you did. He is probably on a job and going the extra mile to achieve old school excellence.

He came out and did a thorough estimate. He asked a lot of questions and there were some products that he didn't have that other estimates we got did have. He was able to kind of look a little father to some other providers and get the product that we wanted, even though it wasn't necessarily the standard vendors that he used. Overall, it was a great experience. He had one person that he worked with. Two of them did all the work themselves. They did a great job.

We have an older home and the patio door and a cracked window were in dire need of replacement.  We called Southern Pride Openings and got a very reasonable estimate.  My door was an 8 foot patio door and had to be ordered which took a couple of weeks.  As soon as all materials had arrived, Tom called with a date/time and arrived on the day of installation promptly at 7:00 a.m.
We were very pleased with this company.  Tom went above and beyond the call of duty.  He ended up having to do more trim work than anticipated and as a result the finished product looks beautiful.  He cleaned up as he went along and just did a wonderful job.  I have a front door to replace and several more windows and we will be calling this company back to do all of that work.

I received a quote from Larry.  He was great, explained things and gave a fair price.  We have not ordered service yet but I believe that we will and we will use this company.

Tom is extremely focused on proper installation of the product.  Highly professional. He installed all items in two days.

Tom answered my call and scheduled an estimate within the next few days.  I was given several options and suggestions, but, thankfully, was not pressured in the least.  The door arrived as scheduled, and was meticulously installed.  Extra time was taken to make sure everything fit perfectly.  Everything was left clean and neat.  Tom even took the time, at the end of a long day, to work on my pantry door so it fit properly...and then refused to charge me for it.  This is a great company, great people.  Would highly recommend!  Love my new door!

Tom called me on Friday and said that the door he ordered for us had arrived and that he was ready to install it. I told him I would be busy with work the following week so he proposed installing it on Sunday morning. He showed up promptly at 8 am and had the door installed and was off site before noon. We wanted the door installed before the hotTtexas weather and he got it in quickly. The door has been in for a month and we have notice a big reduction in heat/cold, draft and sound coming through the door. Overall this is a very friendly and straight forward family run business that I would work with in the future for my exterior door or window needs.

They were prompt and knowledgeable and did a great job. We were worried about making our back door secure from breakins and they explained how to do that and helped find a good solid door that fit our needs. Our cost was a higher than most people because we choose a steel door and other security features that some people would not necessarily choose.   I would highly recommend them.

Tom is great! Aside from being a really nice guy - He is also very knowledgeable about his product line, and utilizes the best practices for installation. I literally called SPO, made an appointment, reviewed my options and scheduled an installation. Tom is really good about giving you ideas and recommendations.
On the installation date, Tom and his partner Jacob arrived on time and immediately got to work. Despite my older home requiring a little additional work, the job was completed within the day and looks awesome (inside and out).
I am hoping to have SPO install new windows in the upcoming months.

Tom was outstanding in every way.  He explained what I was getting in detail and gave me a rough estimate over the phone.  He then came out and provided the written estimate. The door he was replacing was stuck, so in the interim, he removed the existing lock to get the door open and replaced it with a new lock so it would be usable while we waited for the new door to come in. The difference in the new door and old one is amazing! He does very high quality work, is a very nice person and is very professional.  I will definitely do business with him again and I highly recommend him to others.

Installation went perfectly. Door is custom made to fit your space so it takes about a month to arrive, which Tom told me when I ordered it. The door arrived on time & was exactly what I ordered. The lock kit comes as well ( you pick design) so you don't need to hire a locksmith. Tom's prices are very competitive. His door was about 1/3 less than a competitor's & competitor did not include lock or trimming. I would have needed a locksmith & a carpenter.

Excellent customer service and craftsmanship.  Tom did a great job comparing the various options and thoroughly explained the work involved in detail.  The cladding, trim, threshold, hinges, locks, jams and doors were all replaced.  Not one inch of the job was rushed as Tom and his team carefully, and skillfully, installed the new equipment.  Great job, guys!

Everything went great!  The door and trim look great! It has been about 6 months since the installation and the door still moves smoothly and quietly on the track.  They also installed an additional lock for the door and it looks great!  I would definitely recommend them and will hire them in the future.

A large bathroom window was broken in a wind storm.  Tom came out, cleaned the broken glass, ordered a new window and installed.  Work done well at price and time promised.  Cleaned up very well both from broken glass and from his work.

Everything went great.

I left a message to get an approximate quote on the door replacement.  Tom responded very promptly and I explained my situation.  I had removed my original door, yet was not comfortable with what the builder had done to make the original door work, so I didn't want to complete the job myself.  Tom explained that normally they did estimates on Monday, yet understanding I had a whole in my house, he adjusted their schedule and came out at 7 am the next morning, to complete my installation.  They worked with me and gave me a discount for the work I did in advance and then completed the installation.  

Tom and his assistance Justin arrived at the time they said and they left the house cleaner then when they arrived.  The work was excellent and when we do our windows next year...I won't even consider calling anyone else but them.

Southern Pride was a pleasure to work with.  They were on time, very expiditious with their work.  When the job required more materials than originally thought, they ran to Home Depot to pick things up and did not expect extra money at the end.  The final product looks fantastic and I would definitely use them in the future.

Everything went very well. The owner came out to give a free estimate. Honest, friendly guy and he sells the ProVia doors at cost. We had to custom order a door to replace a non-standard entry door (1930s home). It arrived about three weeks later and he and an employee came out to install the door right away. It took some doing because not everything was level (again, old house), but the door is installed perfectly and looks great. We plan to replace some windows next year and will definitely give Southern Pride Openings a call!

I found Southern Pride Openings on Angie's list and after reading all the outstanding reviews, I decided to give them a call. I called for an estimate and Tom Herold came out the next day. He spent nearly two hours explaining the process, the options, showing samples, and helping me pick out doors/colors. I decided to go with the Provia doors. Tom told me that it would take about four weeks for the doors to be delivered.
  Three weeks later I got a call from Jason, Tom's helper. The doors were in and we scheduled installation the next day. Tom and Jason showed up on time the next day and and installed the doors and frames. The doors are of outstanding quality and look great. Tom and Jason were professional, courteous, and answered my many (some times nit-picky.) questions with a smile.They really are genuinely nice folks. Southern Pride is a fitting name for this company.
  High quality doors + high quality installation + a company that considers customer satisfaction priority one = one happy customer.

Tom brought a catalog of products and a large case filled with product examples (color, function, material, etc) when we met to discuss his offerings. This really helped us see what our options were and difference in quality vs. price. Tom's experience was evident. He likes what he does and he seemed genuinely interested in our satisfaction. Tom and Justin arrived promptly. I observed them as they worked and couldn't help noticing how much they liked what they were doing. They seemed confident that we were going to be happy with their work and we were. The door's construction is impressive. It's beautiful! Tom and Justin took extra pains to improve the original construction to insure the beauty and function of our new door would last.  Tom and Justin cleaned and vacuumed the inside and out.  I really like it when I get what I pay for. And in this case, I feel like I got a bargan. The best part of all of this was meeting these men.  These are great guys that we want to support.  I know that we're not the only ones who feel this way either.  We highly recommend Southern Pride Openings!
