I found Butler Plumbing on Angie's List after calling one other plumber who could not get to me (my contractor's plumber is a smaller business).  From the beginning, they were super responsive and professional.  After asking me a few questions, Shane explained that it could be a simple repair in the tank (as my daughter thought it was), or it could be something more serious given the gurgling action when I flushed the toilet.  He explained the pricing and was far more responsive than I could even accommodate!  (I had called during the busy holiday season and was fairly booked up myself with tons of appointments!).  We settled on a date early the following week, and Shane encouraged me to call back if the problem became more serious and I needed them to come out.
At the appointed time, two extremely professional and knowledgeable gentlemen (David and Matt) arrived to look at my problem.  It did turn out to be a tank issue and a minor repair, but they were very kind and assured me that many people don't know how to assess the issues in these new tanks.  Anyway, we spent a little time visiting about the care of toilets (no bleach in the tank!) and going over the pricing (which is well documented so customers can see how visits are priced) and discounts available to Butler Plumbing customers.  They could not have been more professional.  As they were taking their leave, David shook my hand and said, "By the way, I'm Dave Butler.  I like to keep my hand in when I can."  I found that so impressive, that the owner still goes out to meet his customers, even new ones with minor problems, when he can.
All of that is to say that Butler Plumbing is my new company when I have problems they can solve, and I recommend them for Angie's List members.  I do think homeownership is so much easier when we have a team of capable and honorable professionals to turn to.  So I'm very glad to have found Butler Plumbing to add to my list of problem solvers!  (Thank you again, Angie's List!)

Contacted Butler plumbing. They are courteous and informative when I called. I was asked pertinent questions to verify the issue. I was notified that there will be a fee for coming out even if they did not do the work.
Day of the work, they arrived on time and assessed the issue and gave me an estimate of the job. As they worked I was given updates on what they saw and what they were doing. They found that the leak was actually under my home (under the slab). I was given an updated price for repairing the lead under the slab and details on what would be done to correct it. Due to the change n the issue they were unable to complete that day and scheduled to return.
When they returned, they were punctual and went right to work and were very careful about making a mess since they were digging up the slab inside the house. Work was completed in a timely manner.
The entire job consisted of:
Replacing outside shut off valve/piping.
New box around the valve
Replacing damaged section of pipe under the house
Pouring new concrete to seal the hole
I am very satisfied with the service I received.

There was a funky smell in our guest bath downstairs for a few weeks. We finally got around to calling the plumber. I searched on Angie's list and found Butler Plumbing. I checked their license to ensure they were still current and checked their website to see who much effort they care about their business. I was satisfied with both so I called to talk about my problems. Shane answered the phone and was very professional, informative, and to the point. I was aware of all the charges and what to expect. They scheduled me for 2 days later. I got a call when the tech was dispatched that morning. He came and diagnosed the problem pretty quickly. They came back the next day, fixed the problem and the smell is gone. They are a pleasure to deal with. Very responsive, trustworthy, prompt, and professional. I will definitely use them again, and would highly recommend them.

Can't say enough about them.  No second guessing on pricing very
straight forward and honest.

Was having some carpentry work done on my front porch.  When the workmen moved the hose attached to my outside faucet, the faucet broke off at the base.  Luckily they could turn the water off to the house and then called me at work.  I didn't know of a plumber that I could call on such short notice so the carpenter recommended Butler Plumbing Company since he had worked with them before and was familiar with their work.
I called Butler and spoke with Shane.  He was very polite and assurred me that even though this was out of their normal territory, they would come by.  He also was upfront that this would be considered a service call, not an estimate,  and that once they arrived they would be prepared to fix the plumbing problem.  I was able to remain at work until he called to let me know the plumbers were on their way.
Fernando and his helper Chris arrived at the designated time.  Fernando was able to assess the damage quickly and let me know what needed to be done and how much it would cost. Both he and Chris were very professional and didn't waste any time digging out the old faucet stem and installing the new faucet.  They also cleaned up after themselves before they left.
I felt that I was charged a fair price for the work that was done.  I will definitely call Butler again when I need a plumber.

It was an amazing transaction.  The gentlemen who came out to the house explained in detail what they would do to find they leak.  They located the leak and explained how the process for repair.   was going on and how they would go about fixing it.  They were extremely polite and professional.

This experience couldn't have gone better! I called to make an appointment, after looking the company up on Angie's List, and they were able to send someone over right away. The repairman & his apprentice showed up, looked over the situation and said they could put in a new, updated line for the dishwasher. They needed to shut off the main water to the house, as the copper line the dishwasher used did not have a shut-off valve on it. My wife was needing to get ready for work, but the repairman was able to work quickly & have the water back on in about 5 minutes time. This made my wife very happy! He capped the old line and had the new line connect to the water line under the kitchen sink. All of this work was done in about 30-45 minutes. Both men were courteous, professional, and wearing uniforms. They had the tools & parts with them to get the job done. Price was reasonable & the fact that he was able to only have the water turned off for 5 minutes was great. Life at the house was able to proceed fairly smoothly.I'm glad I chose Butler Plumbing, and would use them again.

Great.  Don't like the prices but their prices are in line with other plumbers.  They have a written price list and can show you before they do the work what the expense will be at different levels (dependent on what they have to do).  They finished.  Showed us what my grandson had put down the toilet and we were back to normal.  We were lucky; they had someone back from a job and were able to let him come right away.  Can't think of any dos or don'ts specifically.

They viewed the line with a camera, showed me the problem, cleaned the line out thoroughly with the proper machine, which was available on their truck at that time (the previous plumber had only punched a small hole through the roots blocking the line, with the snake they had available on their truck, to let water flow through), inspected the line again to make sure it was cleared well, showed me the results of their cleaning (and I could see for myself that the line was indeed cleared thoroughly with the use of their camera), and then gave me an estimate on the job for fixing the problem once and for all.
I was extremely impressed with the professionalism and the thoroughness, the fact that they came equipped with everything to do the job completely the first time, and the fact that they informed me completely of the work that needed to be done to prevent the recurring problem.  Even though they are more expensive than the competitors, I am so impressed with their preparedness and ability to communicate the problem to me, making sure I understood everything, that I will recommend them without hesitation and will also be calling them to do the work needed to fix the problem for good.

The person that came out to fix the disposal was the owner.  Also, once we set up the date and time for the slap leak they were on time and fixed it quickly.  The other place we had out first- which is also listed on Angie's list was the total opposite- They charged us a price out of thin air (which was alot more than Butler plumbing's price)  The other place wanted over $3,000 and then told us they could not come out and do the slap leak repair on the days we agreed to--AFTER we had to call them and find out where they were because they had not shown up to start the repair.  Plus, we had to call that guy a few times to find out when he was going to fix our disposal-then improperly stored it and had it bouncing around his van and told us he would get another one the next day.  This other guy also left some of his work stuff here and he even made our plumbing problem worse by jamming the toilet up which is tied into the shower so our shower started to back up. He also made a mess and didn't clean up. Butler plumbing personnel were the ones that noticed what happened and explained it to us.  I would recommend Butler plumbing to anyone.  They were honest, professional, explained things and picked up after themselves.  Very good Company.

The initial work went well but when we asked for a price along with details of the work that remained to be done we got resistance.  He considered that task to be unnecessary and evidently did not want to take the time to do this.  When pressed further, he basically refused and said he did not want to work with us.  Very unprofessional.  All we wanted was clarity on what work was being done.
Response from Butler Plumbing Co
"There was much more involved here than is in Member's Report. We did locate Member's leak in a shower pan in an upstairs bath over the master bath. We gave him a price and were waiting for him to coordinate his tile contractor. Member hired an interior disigner to oversee the work. Twice we were rescheduled by him with little or no notice because his contractors did not get their work done according to schedule. We felt uncomfortable with the contractors doing the work and with the person Member had running the job. A shower pan must be installed properly and the tile contractors have to know what they are doing or they can damage the pan. The homeowners then call the plumber, not the tile contractor , when it is leaking through their ceiling. Due to our lack of confidence in the people Member chose to do his work, we did not want to be involved in a plumbing installation that was not up to Butler Plumbing Company's Standards. That is why I kindly told Member and his assistant that we were not comfortable with the way the job was being handled and were not interested in working with him. We have high standards for our work and the contractors we work with because we always have our clients best interests in mind. We will not lower our standards to work with contractors that we feel are not taking good care of our clients needs and that is why we told Member we would not do his plumbing work. Sincerely, David Butler Owner/Butler Plumbing Company"

The original install by the builder was not done right and they corrected and added some plumbing to the outside of the house without any extra charges. They also met the inspector in case there was a problem due to the added fixes.

They were running a about 30 minutes late and it was an evening job,  but they stayed until it was done right even though it was past quitting time.

I had attempted to auger out a slow draining toilet myself with no success.  (I had been successful in the past.)  David Butler of Bulter Plumbing "augered" and "plunged" the toilet/drain.  The job took less than 30 minutes.  He also adjusted the flow rate and water level in the toilet.  He was very prompt (here within 4 hours of my initial call).  He was very professional and made several suggestions for future plumbing needs.

I was a little apprehensive when they would not quote a price on the phone without seeing the job. Most small plumbing jobs I try to do myself. After reading horror stories on this type of job I decided to try them anyway as the result of their ratings on the list. They were very punctual and professional, in fact they called earlier than expected to see if I was home from work yet. They explained the complexity of the job after they arrived and performed the work in a timely manner. As far as pricing I cannot comment since this is the first time I have contracted a professional plumber. All I know is by watching that I would have had to buy the replacement part, an additional $100 tool and get a spare set of helping hands to do the job myself, took them both to remove the old silcock and install the new one. Overall I am satisfied and will probably use them again if necessary.

"My apology to the member. I missed the email that she was wanted us to contact her. We hope that if anyone needs us they contact us by phone when they don't hear back on email. Sometimes our emails slip through the cracks but our phone is always answered by a live person unless all our lines are busy. We hope you will give us another chance in the future. Thank you, David Butler"

My husband called and set a date for them to come, I was concerned because I had a chemo appointment that afternoon. The young men arrived exactly on time, worked quickly and efficeintly found thre leak and repaired it...all within 2 hours. the price was just what they quoted except they gave me a 10% discount because of my illness.. Great company, I think we have finally found our plumber.

We found a water leak in the garage/opposite the wall where washing machine is located in the laundry room. We called on the weekend and our call was returned promptly. We explained what the problem was and that it could most likely wait until Monday. They said they would have someone call Monday morning at 8am. They did and said they would be there shortly, and they were here in 20 minutes! The servicer ran the washer and could not detect a leak. He checked several other lines in the house (toilets upstairs, etc.) and still could not find anything. He then ran a snake with camera into the line and found a clog of caked powdered detergent. Cleared it and told us to start using liquid detergent. Excellent service in every way, we will be calling Butler Plumbing from now on!

They were able to find the problem and temporarily fix it. The problem came back. There was more to the problem than they initially thought. They came back for the second time and told me that I needed work done on my main drain. We have not had the work on the drain done yet.
