I got a leak in my roof and into my living room after the last ice storm. I got with Kangaroof and they sent out a salesman who looked at my roof and my inside ceiling which has a 2 foot line of sheetrock hanging from the leak. He gave me a quote of $1100 to fix the issues and I said fair enough. A week or so later a tech came out and spent about 1 hour on my roof and another hour going back to shop to get different shingles. Tech did not tell me when he was done and just left. Well, my inside ceiling is still not fixed. I called Kangaroof and they said that my salesman did not include any inside work on the quote and I said what! So I just paid them about $1000 an hour to fix my roof. So they sent the same salesman back out and he kept putting off coming back out but after about 3 calls to the office asking where he was he finally came out. He came in and looked again at the ceiling and took some measurements and then said sorry my laptop died and I will have to send you a quote tomorrow by email. Well I know why he pulled that stunt because the quote was $8000.00 to repair a 2 foot piece of sheetrock! What on earth! Get the #%#$ out of here whit that noise! Long story short, there is no honor in their quotes so be aware!

The staff stopped communicating with us when we paid our deposit. I went weeks without an update. Phone calls and emails never returned. Our account sat on supplemental coordinator’s desk for 5 weeks before they bothered to send it to our insurance company, and that was after several call and emails that they ignored. They blamed the insurance company. Funny, the insurance company are the only ones who returned my phone calls or emails. They didn’t order the correct materials even though we tried to confirm the correct materials no less than 5 times. In the end, they proved to be so unscrupulous we had to go to another roofing company to finish the job. I would never recommend them to anyone and I would stay away from anyone associated with KangaRoof. These people are not detail oriented people. They lied to cover their tracks. They were very condescending to my husband and he became very heated. They treat people like trash and don’t like when it comes back to them. This companies lack of character starts at the very top.

If you are looking for a company that you have to micro-manage and stay on top of for them to get their job done Kanga is the company for you. In my opinion these guys need their hands held and do not care about the level of service they provide their customers. It took them almost 4 months from the time I made the first payment before they completed my roof. I understand this was during a time when many people were having roofs replaced due to a recent hailstorm. What I do not understand is why, throughout the entire process, nothing was done until I would call in? This started with asking insurance to subsidize additional work and continued all the way through multiple return visits to fix the mistakes they made and issues they missed on the initial install. My roof could have been completed in half the time if they knew how to communicate between employees and do their jobs without waiting for me to call in before they realize action needs to be taken. Oh, and if material is dropped off in your driveway make sure you check the material (shingle color, drip edge color, vents, etc.). Kanga has a third party distributor deliver their material, and it became obvious to me they don’t confirm the material is correct before installing it onto the roof. As mentioned, they did have to come back in order to fix obvious oversights. For example, rotten lumber and drip edge misalignment that could be seen clear as day. This took over a month just to get them back out. Now I may just be old fashion, but I believe you should finish a job correctly before moving onto the next one or prioritize that job above others as it should have been done right the first time. When they finally informed me someone was coming to do the repairs, I scheduled time off to be home when they arrive. I should not have been surprised when no one showed up, and I did not receive any calls notifying me. A week later they finally come out, they were over 3 hours late, but I guess its better than a no call no show. The contractor that came out did not have the right information on what work he was supposed to do. I had to give him the correct work to be done. I also inform the contractors that I want to inspect everything before they leave, because I am not going to wait another month for them to come out for anything they missed again. The contractor left without letting me know and everything was not completed. It took another 2 weeks before they finally came out and finished all the issues. I was asked by Kanga if I felt I received a good quality roof, and I could not honestly say I was confident in the quality of the roof. Not because it took them almost 4 months to complete the job or because I had to constantly call to get anything done, but because they overlook the simplest thinks. I found simple issues they missed and installations that were done incorrectly which makes me question the overall quality of their work. They tell me I have their warranty if any issues arise. Not sure what good a warranty is if my roof is leaking for a month because it takes them forever to get someone out to fix it. That is assuming they fix it right the first time.

From start to finish they were professional. We filed insurance claim with USAA and Kanga had a representative here walking the roof with the appraiser. The appraiser said good things about Kanga. Josh was the salesman and pointed out that we had turbines, sofit vents and ridge vents. He said the turbines with ridge vents were bad and reccommended we pull the turbines, this was missed by our last roofing company. A week after we signed the contract, kanga sent another inspector to make sure nothing was missed. Materials arrived day before install. The morning of the install the crew arrived early and got right to it. The forman, Luis, spoke broken english but good enough and was vey nice and knowledgeable. The quality control rep (Hayden) stopped by several times to ensure all was well. They also replaced the roof on two sheds and some wood that was rotten. They cleaned everything up when done. Everything took about 10 hrs. They do have to come back for gutters and chimmney cap.

Don from Kanga Roof told me that the vent was raised about 2" on the bottom. Because of the age of my roof he recommended doing what they call a Roof Tune Up which involves sealing any places where the nails have loosened from the roof. He said that reseating the vent that was raised would be included. When the roofer arrived he did not know anything about the vent but said he would look at it. He spent 30 min roaming the roof calking various areas. It rained two days later and the vent again leaked. When I called they stated that reseating the vent was not included in the contract. My error was in trusting their verbal committment which was not written into the contract. They said that since they did put calking on the vent and it still leaked, it would need to be replaced. Strangely enough their quote for replacing the vent was exactly the same as the roof tune up. Or maybe not so strange. I went with another roofing company to do the repair. I have absolutely no trust in Kanga Roof and would not recommend them to anyone for anything! If you do decide to contract with them, make sure all of their verbal commitments are in writing. Update: Stacie Feller, an owner of Kanga Roof Austin, called me to discuss my experience. She listened to me and offered a 50% refund of the monies I paid which I felt was very generous and more than fair. I had engaged another contractor to replace the leaky vent. He had taken pictures of my roof and vent at the time he came to look over my roof and give me a quote. Stacie asked for and I forwarded those pictures to her. She was very interested in hearing my experience with Kanga and will use that to discuss with her project team to improve internal communications about customer expectations from initial contact through job completion. I give Stacie an A+ for her reaching out to me and her kind understanding. Averaging those two grades together, I give Kanga Roof Austin a C+ grade instead of the original F. The moral of this saga is that clear communication is an essential component for successful completion of a project.

Salesman explained everything up front. Gave me options. Dates were set and everything happened as scheduled. Roof completed on time. Good clean-up afterwards,. Few days later they came by again and check for nails with metal detector. They coordinated with my insurance company and I did not have to do much paperwork to collect on my claim. Overall very satisfied.

It’s odd that I hear so many adds on the radio and tv for Kanga Roof, but I personally would not use their services. Of all the roofing companies I contacted to replace my roof, and there are many fine companies out there, Kanga was the ONLY one who wanted me to pay $50 to have someone come out to look at my roof. Thanks, but no thanks!

Job went well. Took a little while to get on the schedule, but it's storm season so there are a lot of roofing jobs going on right now and ours wasn't an emergency. They did a great job, sent me pictures of before and after, and no more leaks!

Very well - Scott was punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. No high pressure sales. His crew showed up at the stated time, did the work, cleaned up, and left. Got our first big rain since the repairs last night and NO LEAKS! Great job and experience.

Excellent, above and beyond. Showed up 30 minutes after we called and took a look a roof to make sure no major damage was done in the pouring rain during Harvey. He did not charge us anything and made sure we were on his list for repair work when the rain stopped.

Representative came over for an inspection. I wasn't sure if we needed a repair or replacement. Representative said only need to repair roof instead of replacement. Company is honest and straightforward. They cut out a section of wood rotting on roof and replaced vent with special sealant. They also came by a few times to ensure the shingles were a perfect match to existing roof shingles.

Responded within 24 hours through Angie's List message box. Ruben and Austin both came and climbed on the roof and came in and showed every option with samples to show in person, pricing and quote all the same day. This was different from the other 2 roofers we spoke with. One took too long to respond to schedule a consultation. The other did show up, but never heard or saw anyone since I was home the day they said they were doing a quote and somehow had a quote for us based on I don't know where from and never met them in person. Kanga Roof ended up doing the work for about 1 week since our current roof had 2 old layers of shingles to remove, then had some weather issues when they had to come and fix some minor details of a loose shingle. The administrative staff from Melissa and Denyelle were very pleasant, responded quickly to questions and stayed on top as far as ordering materials and keeping us informed. Ruben, sales coordinator, came by couple of times to make sure that the job is being done as he stated. We had couple of hiccups with the shingles removed, the workers forgot to clean up the ones that landed on our trees and the last part with the loose shingle. But because they stayed on top of it and responded quickly, we still give them an "A". Pricing wise, we got a pretty good deal with architectural roofing, being highest level we good get as far as shingles, 50 year manufacturer warranty, along with Kanga Roof's warranty as well of 25 years (that's an estimate, can't remember if 25 or 30 off the top of my head), and got a discount for my husband being a fire fighter and we agreed to have their sign up in our lawn for 45 days. I had to talk my fire fighter husband from trying to do it himself, although he can and no issues with heights, our roof is very steep that I'd rather have someone else do it. We put half down to purchase material and paid the rest once we were happy with everything. We fully recommend them. Thanks Kanga Roof!

I called Kanga Roof and they said they would send someone out to check my roof. Danny contacted me the day of my appointment via phone to ask if he could go in my backyard to check out my roof as he had already checked out the front of my house. He was very professional and told me that no work was needed. I really appreciated his responsiveness and customer service. I would definitely recommend this company to others.

I called this company because of the good reviews they had received on Angie's List. An appointment was made for their inspector to come and examine my roof, which had problems with leaks at the valleys. The inspector arrived on time, and thoroughly examined the roof, and took pictures of the affected areas. He told me what needed to be done, and gave me a written estimate of the cost. He said that he needed to consult the company owner, who is an engineer, on the best way to design the repair. Later the inspector went over the design with me, including a drawing of it. Then, a date was set for the work to be done. A crew arrived on time, and with considerable material. A supervisor was there, and another company supervisor came several times during the day. The crew worked all day, from morning until after 6:00 p.m. They did a great job, and did a thorough clean up afterwards. A company supervisor stayed with them as they completed their work and clean up. The next day, the inspector returned to check the work. I was billed according to the estimate, and was asked about any questions or concerns that I might have about the work. I appreciated their follow up, and concern in the work being done well.

They came and inspected and gave us a great quote. We decided to go with another business who was able to do some work on our siding as well. Otherwise, we were very happy with the service and their knowledge of what was happening with our roof.

Ashley came out on 08/02 and we gave her quote and paper work from our insurance Liberty Mutual. We signed the contract for 08/25 and had no heard from her since. My wife called and checked with her and she said Bryan will send something to my wife email account. My wife has not received any email from Bryan yet. I am giving a C grading for now. Will change after the work is done.

She works for Feller Roofing of New Braunfels which is a separate company that is owned by Ami Feller. Would you please remove this review from our company?"
