"[member name removed] have been awesome customers to work with and we hope our relationship with them continues. We always appreciate great reviews and strive to receive them and appreciate the [member name removed] very much."
I give this company a 'F' because they are not taking responsibility for damaging my Kohler cast iron tub. The owner's response is that he is not taking any responsibility for his workers causing damage to my Kohler cast iron tub and that the chips are "hardly visible"
Kohler set me up w/ their representative to look at the tub.and the outcome is that a heavy tool was dropped more than once on the surface causing 4 chips to the surface. Kohler has voided their warranty due to the damage caused by the workers. I paid a premium for the bathroom remodel and I am asking the company to repair and compensate me for the damaged tub that will no longer have a warranty due to the damage even if repaired. They did not finish all the work in the contract and stopped working when I brought the damage of the tub to their attention.
Jonathon Sprinkle the owner thinks that the customer must accept damages done by his workers and a voided warranty on their expensive fixtures. This is not how a professional business is run especially when all your advertisement states that you focus on quality, perfection, customer satisfaction and are insured.
"This is what I have already stated to this customer through the BBB, which the BBB even noted to be a good faith response and closed the complaint. I am not saying that our workers did or did not damage the tub. My point is that she is completely saying that they did with no actual proof and the word of the tub manufacturer, who obviously will state it's not from them. That said, I have already told the customer I would assume the responsibility far enough that I would tear out the tub and all necessary work to do so and install a new tub and reinstall everything to removed to do the repair. I will not however just hand the customer money. The customer does not want us to warranty our own work and would prefer an unrealistic amount of cash to cover paying someone else in the future, should in the unlikely case, the tub actually need to be replaced after a tub repair, not replacement. We believe and work with Integrity to the fullest extent we can and have tried to be as accommodating as we can be under the circumstances."
Demolition began on January 20th as scheduled. The stairway and walkways leading to the bathroom were protected and covered before the work began. Workers showed up promptly and cleaned up around the area each day before leaving. The project ran smoothly and we are very pleased with the quality of all the work that was done in this bathroom. Work was completed on February 10th - a few days later than anticipated due to wintery weather delays. Once again, we are very satisfied with the work done by ICS and will definitely call on them again for future home renovation projects.
Demolition began as scheduled on Nov 5th with protective coverings on stairs and walkway prior to starting the work. Workers showed up every day and the project manager checked the progress of the project with phone calls and on site visits. Jonathon, the owner, even called midway to make sure we were pleased with the work being done. Work in the bathroom was completed on Nov 27th - just in time to show off the room to our Thanksgiving guests. The end result far exceeded our expectations and we contacted ICS again to renovate our 4th (and final) bathroom.
Jonathon and his team have a good understanding of my tastes/preferences and were able to leverage that in the design phase. One thing that I really like about ICS is that I can change the scope after the project after it has started and they will adjust the price in a fair way. I've worked with other vendors before that like to lock you in and charge ridiculous fees for any changes - ICS does not operate this way.
The fence and deck are pretty much a work of art - it's the first thing you see when you come into the backyard, the reaction is always "wow, this is cool!".
The ICS crew is a good group, they work well together and are always positive. I have used ICS on a couple other projects and will continue to do so - these guys have earned my trust. There are too many folks in this industry that focus on short term gain rather than a longer term relationship. You want to have a trusted dentist, doctor, lawyer, and construction team (unless you rent of course).
I am happy to be a reference for ICS, if anyone would like to talk to me about my experience with Jonathon and his team please reach out to ICS to line-up the call.
No company gets everything right the first time, in the case of ICS I did not fret if any hiccups were encountered as I knew that they would make things right in the end ... which they always did. ICS is now working on a fence around my vineyard as well as a deck for my Man Cave - I'll review that work separately once we get across the finish line (2-3 weeks from now).
I have recommended ICS to close friends and now I'm sharing the recommendation with the rest of the world.
All in all, this was a good remodel, we really are enjoying our Master Bath! Funny how changes can make it seem so different! I'm pretty handy, but couldn't do this on my own, nor could I have come up with the ideas for how to lay out the tile.
ICS began the project the Monday after Thanksgiving with a target completion date of 12/21/12. We explained to them how firm we were on this date as we had tentatively agreed to hold a Christmas eve dinner at our house. We were told not to worry, but privately, due to the amount of work being done, we fully expected the project run over the completion date. We expected this not due to anything ICS had done, but due to us adding items to the original request.
While our house was in chaos for the month during the remodel, Jonathon, David and Tino made sure that all of our requests were met and that we were happy with the final outcome. A last minute fireplace mantle build by Jonathon showed what he and his company will go through to make the customer happy.
We have several other projects upcoming, and know that Jonathon and ICS will treat us fair and on time.
I had problems at every phase of the job, with their work....and I would be told go with it, when I complained about anything... it will be fine in the end... I was told... and this was far from true.
They show up to give an estimate and appear as if they know what they are doing, then when workmen show up, they are amateurs, semi-skilled labor that is not supervised, or does not speak English.
Oh, they are getting their experience for sure, and its at your expense...
"We tried to work with Mr. T as much as we could even with his everchanging demands and requests to do the work his way, instead of the correct way. He interferred the entire length of the job and would degrade our men on a constant basis. We are not frauds by any stretch of the imagination as you can see by our other reviews and if you look at our website, austincustomremodeling.com, you can see even more and pictures of our work. Mr. T did not let us complete his job as he stated he had in the review and did not pay us to the point of work performed. If you look at his other reviews, you will see that he reviews everyone poorly. We wish him the best and we will move on and take it as a lesson learned to follow initial instincts."
