The last technician I had was good but no longer worked there so they sent a new one.  This one came out, looked at the system and took a hardness sample.  Told me I needed to buy a new system.  He gave me prices for a new system and left after charging me $139.00.  He never even opened the system up to look inside.

They are great!  They did everything the promised, never tried to sell us on products we didn't need and have an amazing service team.  We had several snags which is to be expected with any new water system as complicated as our is in the first year and they were very quick to respond, even at 5AM on a Saturday morning. Dustin is especially outstanding an knowledgeable.  Kinetico products are expensive in comparison, but you really get what you pay for.  I would highly recommend Kinetico and American Watercare.

The technician was nice and on time.  He tested my water, which was fine.  He said he could tell the water softener needed the carbon tank flushed and refilled.  He said he could do both-clean the system and refill the carbon tank for $199, instead of charging me $149 for the cleaning and an additional $199 for the refill.  Sounded good to me.  He took about 90 minutes to do that and said he cleaned up all the parts and got the system running.  He advised that the system would need to be replaced in the not too distant future.  We discussed future options.
Two weeks later the system started to leak.  I called the company and the "on call" technician said he had to charge me $289 to come out because it was a holiday weekend (Fri after Thanksgiving).  He made it seem like an inconvenience that I was even calling and said "he had things to do" and asked me just to put on the bypass for the weekend - even though I had a leak.  He came over and couldn't fix the problem because "i'm just an installer and don't carry parts with me."  He said they would send someone out on Monday - no one ever called or came.
I called a different company and had the whole thing fixed for less than $100 within two hours of my phone call. The second company said the system is working fine and other than when a few parts go bad, it should last me another 10-15 years.  I would not call American Water again.

Went very well - we did an extensive research before deciding to go with Kinetico - and I waited for sometime to ensure the systems worked well prior to writing this review.
The sales person I interacted with (Sam) was extremely courteous and responsive through out the process - almost 2.5 months while I researched and compared among various providers. These were the only folks who were willing to provide written information on the efficiency (salt usage) of their system. None of the others were willing to provide it in writing - after several requests to the others and waiting on them to provide matching information on salt usage, residual salt in water etc.  (that was written down and not just verbally conveyed), we decided to go with Kinetico despite the significant difference in upfront costs as compared to the other providers.
Our experience so far has been great and would recommend them based on quality of their product, their willingness to provide technical specs in writing, and their professionalism.

They came out afterward to do a few repairs. When you call them they give very good customer service. If you have a problem they will send someone out in a reasonable amount of time. They also arrive on time to do the work. When you buy their water system they offer really good customer support after the fact.

Did not go well. Water softener still does not work and I don't want to miss work for them to come and charge me 139.00. Rip off. I will never ever buy anything from them ever!

The price that they charged included the cost of the water softener too. We had a good experience with them. They came out and looked at our old Kinetico. They gave us a bid on fixing the old one, but it didn?t cost more to buy a new one. So we bought a new one. They installed it and it was fine as well. I didn?t have anything to compare their price to, but $3000 seemed like a lot of money. We would definitely use their services in the future too.

Both the sales rep and the installer were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. The installer showed up on time, completed the work and showed me how to use the system.

They come here on a regular basis to do routine maintenance on my water softener. They make any repairs or adjustments necessary. They also change the filter and add salt. It is $50 quarterly for the service. I am very pleased with the service. It is nice not to have to worry about it. The people are helpful and courteous.

The system I got from them was fine. They did fail to inform me of the costly upkeep involved with this type of unit. They should give some kind of discount to me since I purchased the unit from them and they installed it. Instead they charged me for the house call, the replacement filter and an hourly rate. They took about and hour and twenty minutes the last time they were out.
