"I received a phone call and he said "I had my house painted 6-7 years ago and said the chimney wasn't painted and I needed to take care of it." I did state that there is no warranty for 6-7 years ago and when I tried to ask his name, he said a few choice words and hung up. This is the rest of the story. The whole call was under 30 seconds. I stand by the work we do and if mistakes are made I own them. This is an unfair review and over the course of seven years, chimneys take a toll in Texas with Sun, storms and hail."
"This work was done 2 years ago and was done very well. This job was a lot of touch up and not full rooms due to putting on the market. We recommended some additional walls to be painted and the customer did not want to do the extra work. We reviewed the proposal very carefully due to the amount of one wall here and there. Then during the job she started saying areas we should have painted and didn't, I then met and reviewed the proposal again, asked if she wanted to add. We performed quite a bit of additional work free to accommodate. There was never leaks discussed on the dormers, but we were accused of damaging the very expensive gutters and she wanted fixed prior to putting on the market. The contact and pictures, prior to any work, clearly showed the damage was there and more than likely from the inspectors. Once I notified and showed the pictures with the dates, several weeks before, of the damage I couldn't get any more response from her. We worked hard, jumped through hoops and stand behind the work we did. Thanks."
"I would like to start by apologizing for the parts that we could control. We did have some issues that were on us and I owned up to that completely. However, this isn't the whole story. My wife and I came out to address issues and we did, but when we don't paint all surfaces it is difficult to hide/cover previous painters mistakes, etc. Some of the areas and lines are trying to cover previous paint so there wasn't multiple colors due to previous painter not painting straight. I reviewed that with you and we even removed some of the new paint on molding to show you that and you agreed. You were painting the molding and it was very faded and had old paint all over. Caulking is typical due to being cracked from age. You didn't like that is was white and your trim was faded. I offered to remove all caulk and you said no. It is difficult to have an outcome when we don't paint over all the surfaces in a room after a previous painter was so sloppy. I walked every area with you and your husband and willing to do whatever you asked, whether it was us or not. I did give a discount, because we did have areas that were on us and took care of. I am sorry you were not happy, but don't know what else I could have done. I do wish you the best. Thanks."
"There was some confusion on this estimate due to meeting with one person and sending proposal to another. We had discussed this review and I actually got the proposal over, agreed and completed the work within the week. They were under a very fast time line and we met and exceeded that by moving jobs around to accommodate. Thanks."
Tyler also broke down our estimate into 3 parts (we decided complete 2 parts of estimate). This enabled us to see exactly how much work we could get done at the current time and also how much to budget for future areas of house. We received the estimate in a timely manner which was the mid range of estimates we received. Tammy was helpful in providing paint color ideas and samples to chose from.
The work crew was very professional and friendly. They showed up each day on time and cleaned up each day before they left. The crew was more than happy to make any touch ups or address any issues I approached them with. We have two small dogs, one of which is blind, and the crew was very considerate of both of them and their whereabouts while they were in our home.
I would not hesitate to hire CertaPro of Lake Ray Hubbard again; in fact I am sure we will use them at a later date to paint the remaining interior of our home and the exterior.
"Thank you so much for your kind works and your business over the years. I wish you the best in your move. Thanks again"
That day and time came, and I was excited to get going! I'm looking to list my house to sell in 2 weeks, already have 4 realtors waiting to show their clients my house (before it's even listed), and this is literally the last step in getting things ready.
Tyler showed up by himself with slacks and a polo, and clipboard. Ah, apparently we're doing estimates. Oh well, great. He said estimate the next day by email.
Next day comes, no email. I call Tyler, and he says sorry he hasn't gotten to it, he'll have it ready tomorrow. Every day I'm waiting on him is one more day I'm stuck, I explain. He then explains that he can't even get his crew out until late next week, or even early week after.
You've got to be kidding. 3 days wasted on something that could have been cleared up on the first call/email.
He then says I should call a handyman for what I want done. I had $2,500.00 budgeted for what I needed, but, sure, a handyman. I'll do that. He says he can't even refer one as his normal guy moved.
So, sorry, can't help you, take care, bye bye.
That would be my experience. I wouldn't wish this guy on my worst enemy. He might do good work ultimately, but good luck trying to get anything scheduled or him to even take your money.
"I do apologize for not being able to assist you. I did meet with your father and there were a lot of touch up spots and I did explain that we won't just touch up spots as it normally looks touched up. I was behind due to the major tornado damage that hit our area. We did speak and you let me know you needed it done within a couple days. I did recommend finding a handyman that might be able to do touch ups and get to you in the time frame you were needing. I felt I was honest and upfront with you and your father, which is who I met with. I take pride in being honest and letting you know I could not meet your time table. I wish you the best in your move and on selling your home. Tyler, Owner"
"We have NEVER received any form of communication from this customer. We have checked all email accounts and phones for messages including our local office and our 800 call center to contact this person regarding a free painting estimate. This customer may have confused us with another painting company. We would be more than happy to set an appointment and give him a FREE estimate. We greatly appreciate our Angie's List consumers! Sincerely, Tammy with CertaPro Painters."
"Thank you so much for your kind words and it was a pleasure working with you."
"Thank you so much for your review and the opportunity to work on your home. We take the trust of our customers very serious and work hard to ensure satisfaction. Please let us know anything we can do for you in the future. Thanks again. Tyler and Tammy"
The painters gave me a time frame to be home in order for them to start the job. One painter showed up just as the time frame was set to be passed, took a quick look at the job and said he and his partner would return later, that they were working on another job.
When they finally started the work they were very efficient.
In removing the toilet tank, the tank cracked and began to leak when reattached. Toilet tanks are not available to buy. It was necessary for me to purchase a new toilet and pay for a plumber to install. This added almost $300 to the cost of entire job. The old toilet was working normally.
Overall, the finished product of the paint job was very nice.
