"On July 20th, 2015 the customer contacted us to diagnose a leak in his garden tub faucet. We went out to his address, that same day, to evaluate the leak and to provide and estimate for repair which involved replacing his leaking Jacuzzi Tub faucet. At his request we provided a labor only estimate for a customer supplied faucet based on the inspection of the plumber. On 7/21/15 we called and left a message for him as part of a standard follow up "Happy Check". He called us back and advised that he was happy with our service and evaluation. I reviewed our service records back through 2014 and I do not show that we had been out to this address at all before 7/20/15 or that we installed a water heater. If we did he did not and has not contacted us to make corrections or repairs for any code upgrades that he indicates were missed. I tried to call the customer to discuss his concerns but to date he has not returned my call. We value this and every Bacon Plumbing customers and, if he will return our call we are completely willing to correct any issues he may have with our work or our service on his water heater."
"This AHS customer is being dishonest, they paid $225 out of pocket to Bacon Plumbing for a water heater that their home warranty provided. The service we provided was above and beyond considering the situation. The customer started off upset that their home warranty didn't pay the whole claim and had a $225 out of pocket. After we installed a brand new AHS supplied water heater at this customers house the electrical breaker went out. All Bacon did was flip the breaker off so we were not electrocuted during the install, after flipping it back out and left the home that breaker went out and shorted the water heater out. We came back out the next day to install another brand new water heater for them and informed them they needed a electrician to replace the old breaker. The customer had AHS send out a electrician to replace the breaker for $100 and everything worked perfect. The main issue with this complaint starts with the customer having to pay for part of the water heater and Bacon Plumbing has no control over that. If you read our retail customer reviews you can better understand Bacon Plumbing. Thanks!!"
They weren’t able to come out due to a bad storm. I called the office and left a voice mail to let them know that the driver called me and wouldn’t be able to come, and to call me back to reschedule the appointment. Three days later, I still had not received a call, so I called my home warranty company to let them know about what happened. They contacted Bacon Plumbing and let me know that I was on the schedule for the next day, but no one from Bacon Plumbing had called to let me know. When they came out again, the plumber didn’t have the right tools for the job. They never called and I had to call them again to schedule service which was too much so we never used them.
"This was a call we ran for home warranty that was denied and the warranty company only ask that we complete a call within 96 hours if job was covered... We follow the home warranty guidelines, if it's a retail customer we don't have a 96 hour completion... We didn't even do the job for the customer and it was through the home warranty and not a retail customer... Take this review down please"
8/15/14:
When I ran the dishwasher last night, there were leaks where the garbage disposal was connected. Called AHS who sent a mesage to Bacon Plumbing. They called back and said they will be available to come out Tues b/t 10-2. The receptionist lady was helpful, and agreed to r/s for Sat 8/23/14.
9/6/14:
After several missed appointments, Bacon Plumbing came to my house and repair the u-tube section if the drainage pipe where there was a small crack for no charge. They told me my scheduled appointment was "b/t 8 am to 4 pm". Only after I raised an objection that it would confine me to my house on a Saturday, and I would report in on Angie's List did the lady called her boss and narrow the call window to a 4 hour period. It should never have come to that!
I called them because they were part of my AHS home owner insurance coverage. They did the job, but the communication can be better.
After BRIEFLY talking to me about the problems in my house (I had ONE stopped up toilet, and ONE stopped up shower
Gary goes to the truck to get his snake and goes to work on the toilet. He then comes and meets me in the kitchen and takes a look at my kitchen sink issue (a small leak, which I wasn't all that concerned about), for about 10 seconds. We both decide that the problem wasn't rearing its head and we would come back to it. I started asking Gary about the issues he found and he is playing coy with me about whats going on. I found out that the reason he did that was because he hadn't called American Homeshield Yet......
I overhear Gary talking to the rep from AHS and telling them that the entire plumbing system in my home was clogged (false) and that it was caused by flushing paper towels (also false). I start becoming acutely aware of what is going on and start listening closer. He then tells me that the AHS rep would like to talk to me. I discuss the issue with Shauna and she tells me that Gary has told her that we had recovered paper towels from the drain and that to fix it he would have to get up on the roof. Mind you, none of this stuff had been discussed with me by Gary, I was just bombarded by it. I then get a bill laid in front of me for the work order for $750. Now, I am no plumber, but Gary did not thoroughly check the drain outside and before he left, he didn't do anything. Just took the $75.00 check and bolted. Overall they were here for about 30 minutes, about 5 of which work was done.
I have a problem with many things here, but 2 things needs to be highlighted: The lack of communication and the lack of diligence.
Gary was quick to rush to the most expensive fix for the problem and did squat to discuss it with me. Even if the clog was made by baby wipes (not paper towels), I understand that this is not an issue with normal wear and tear, I was bombarded by the laying of a $750 invoice in front of me.
The lack of diligence directly relates to questions of their honesty. Claiming that the most expensive fix is the right fix without exploring or discussing other options is lazy and dishonest.
I have a second opinion coming tomorrow and will update the review with their findings. If I find that any of their proposed work was embellished I will be changing this grade to an F-
I would definitely use them again.
