Shane and Linda went back and forth on the phone to get me the date and time I wanted for him to come out. They also rescheduled cheerfully when unexpected travel came up.They took a detailed explanation of the work involved. He came on time, got everything done promptly. He also answered questions about installing a hot water heater under kitchen sink and gave his recommendations. A whole house plumbing inspection was included in the coupon, however we only discussed the need for a leak detector on the water heater and AC units. (Expensive but probably a good thing to have) He also gave his professional opinion on the water heater installation. He did a great job overall.
Description of Work: New kitchen faucet installed. Toilet tank repaired so that lever did not hit top of tank. (Tank was not draining completely as lever was stopped by lid of tank) Four nozzle extension added to outside faucet.

The overall repair experience was one of excellence! From beginning to end, no issues. I received a Angie's List "The Big Deal" email for $99 Outdoor faucet repair on Friday June 29th. I jumped on it. Emailed them to schedule an appointment, received a reply shortly from Shane who stated his wife would be contacting me shortly to schedule an appointment. Unbeknownest to me they were moving that weekend and did not have the capabilites to go through the endless amount of emails. No worries. Monday morning I received a call stating Shane would be in my area and asked if he could come out mid afternoon. I said yes. He was very professional and knowledgable. Out with the old and in with the new in a short amount of time. Walked through house and gave me some insight and tips on how to go about an ongoing renovation of a bathroom I am doing. So overall great job and would defintiely add him to my list of someone to call. Thanks.

I first had Shane of Partridge Plumbing come to my house for a hot water heater drain/inspection on an Angie's List coupon deal for $98. Shane showed me five handfuls of sediment that had collected in the tank after ten years (and neglect on my part for no annual drainings). He also pointed out some plumbing concerns he had with the current unit (no leak sensor and located on 2nd floor of house, poor pipe fitting, cheap plastic drain faucet, age of unit). The only additional service/product he presented at the time was the sensor with no pressure from him to purchase and install. However, given his professionalism and the other reviews on Angie's List, I felt confident in having Shane install a more efficient hot water heater as soon as possible.Shane arrived promptly at 8am and was complete within three hours. This included removal of the old unit and installation of the new unit. He left the areas where he worked and moved the unit very clean and undamaged. Shane spent a few minutes explaining the new unit features and other additional plumbing he fixed in the installation that he had noted in his original visit. He also pointed out that a professional electrician could install a socket for the leak sensor rather than have it run on batteries. I really appreciated that he hadn't tried to play electrician and do it himself and was honest in his skills focused in plumbing. The difference in my hot water is amazing and I'm looking forward to my next electricity bill to see, hopefully, a small decrease with the new efficient water heater in place. I am very pleased with Partridge Plumbing and am glad to finally have a trusted plumber ready to call for any additional services in my house.
Description of Work: Last week, Partridge Plumbing came to fullfill a coupon I had purchased on Angie's List for a hot water heater drain/inspection and whole house inspection. Shane returned today to install a new water heater.

Would you prefer a master plumber responding to your calls for a plumber -- or someone with much less experience? Shane Partridge is a one-man operation. So, when you call Shane, you get a master plumber who really knows what he's doing. I received an immediate reply from him after I sent him a text message after our gas water heater began leaking. When he arrived, he fully explained our options, and answered my questions in language I could understand. He quickly went to work, and never wasted a minute while he was working in a very small closet that houses the water heater -- all the while exposed to Texas June heat for 4 to 5 hours. Shane got us out of hot water and into hot water at the same time. I'm very impressed by his expert knowledge and his professionalism. The biggest reason I signed on to Angie's list years ago was to get peace of mind that I was hiring a true professional to make my home repairs. Shane is a great example of the Angie's List ideal.
Description of Work: Shane Partridge responded quickly to my text, and arrived on time the next day as agreed. He quickly diagnosed that we needed to replace our 12+-year-old gas water heater that was leaking. He gave us options of buying a water heater ourselves, which he would install -- or him providing the USA-made water heater. He drained and removed the old water heater, installed a brand-new one, and brought our whole system up to code -- which included a significant amount of welding new piping. He tested the system to make sure it was working before he left. The whole process took 4 or 5 hours.

We couldn't be more pleased. Not sure what we expected the cost to be, but it would have definitely been MORE than what he actually charged. Prompt service. Professional & honest service. Fairly priced service. Partridge Plumbing is our no. 1 "go-to" for any plumbing needs in the future.
Description of Work: Late Sunday afternoon. The upstairs bathroom is leaking to the kitchen downstairs. We had used Partridge Plumbing before via Angie's List so we called - got his voice mail.Within FIVE minutes, he called back (first big plus)! About twenty minutes later - he was at our front door! He promptly diagnosed the problem - the A/C condensation drain was clogged and was backing up into the bathroon sink, which was overflowing onto the floor, and was dripping downstairs into the kitchen below. Shawn un-clogged the drains & checked the system.

They were timely! They arrived closer to the beginning of the timw frame window rather than the end. He solved an enormous problem for me that could have cost me over $1,000. He was the third plumber in my home who has looked at the problem and was able to think outside of the box and the issue was resolved with a $30 fix I purchased from Home Depot. I am very happy with their services.

When I first spoke with Mr. Partridge, he inquired about my specific plumbing problems and discussed possible causes/solutions for some. He was prompt, courteous and efficient.
Description of Work: I needed a toilet replaced after having new flooring installed in my home. Also, had drainage and sewer gas concerns in two other bathrooms. All tasks were done thoroughly and with helpful communication to me. I will definitely call Partridge for any plumbing needs that I have in the future and would highly recommend him.

Plumber took extra time to explain to me, and measure the "ruff area" needed for the 2nd commode, which I have not yet ordered. This is an older home and requires a little extra thought in ordering equipment, so as not to order the wrong size (like I did in March, 2012). A few extra parts were needed for the installation (in this older home) of my new Kohler commode, which was installed on May 14th.And I really appreciated Shane going to purchase the exact pieces needed. I am so thrilled with my new commode installation! It is wonderful. I will be using Partridge Plumbing for all of my plumbing needs. I especially like it that the owner of the Partridge Plumbing Co. does all of his own work himself. It is professional: from start to finish [from the moment I picked up the telephone and dialed the Partridge Plumbing Co.'s telephone number . . . until the plumbing job was completed]. I feel sooo lucky that I found Partridge Plumbing! It has been the easiest and most comfortable plumbing experience that I have ever experienced.
Description of Work: I ordered a new commode from Morrisons Supply, and on Thursday, May 10th I was informed by Morrisons that Morrisons would deliver the commode on Monday, May 14th. On Friday, May 11th - I phoned Partridge Plumbing and spoke to the scheduler, telling her that my new commode would be delivered on Monday morning (May 14th) and so I would like to get on the schedule some time the next week, if possible, for the installation of new commode. The scheduler was very helpful and said she would need to check the list of appointments and also check with Shane Partridge's schedule to make sure the best and soonest appointment could be set up for me. Her Professional attention to detail in scheduling immediately put me at ease. She confirmed that she would provide a call-back after double checking Shane's updated schedule, and that she would phone me back on Monday, May 14th. Well, bright and early around 8:15 am - the phone rings and it's the Partridge scheduler asking if my new commode had yet been delivered!!! I responded that the new commode was delivered at 7:45 am that very morning!!! She asked if a 9:00am appointment that morning would be a convenient time for me to have my plumbing installation!! I was thrilled beyond measure that I would receive my commode installation that morning! I mentioned that I was driving an elderly relative to doctor and would be back home around 9:45 or 10:00. We set the appointment for 10:00am; I have never in my life - had such an easy time of setting a professional appointment. At exactly 10:00 am, very punctual, the plumber was knocking at my door! This has been a wonderful experience. I am going to order a 2nd commode for another bathroom, and I most certainly will schedule with Partridge Plumbing. Plumber, Shane Partridge, completed an excellent installation from start to finish. He really exhibits the skill of a true MASTER PLUMBER.

The pilot light on our gas water heater was going out increasingly frequently, till it got to the point where it wouldn't light at all. Shane had done plumbing work for us on a few other occasions. I left Shane a message at 2:00 am Friday night, and his reply was waiting for me first thing Saturday morning, stating that he would come by around noon. Around 11:00 am we got a call from him. I had given him the model number of my water heater, and he told me that particular water heater uses non-standard parts that would have to be ordered. Another plumber may not have caught that, or bothered to look it up, and ended up charging us for two service calls. Shane advised us to call the number on the water heater, and to call him back when the part came in if we wanted him to install it. He followed up a couple days later to see if the part had arrived. (It hadn't.) The next day I called him to tell him we got the part, and within a few hours he was there to install it. Unfortunately, they had sent the wrong part (combination gas control). Fortunately, he just happened to have a spare of the right part (thermocoupler) on his truck, so we were back in business. He easily could have installed the new combination gas control as well as the thermocoupler, and charged me a lot more to do it. But he didn't. I offered to give him the combination gas control, a rather expensive part, since we didn't need it, but he refused to take it. He told me to keep it in case we need it down the line. He installed the thermocoupler while his partner checked the roof vent to make sure there was nothing clogging it. He checked the water sensor and noted that the fuse had burned out. We hadn't noticed any leaking water, and he explained that this particular water sensor was not that great of quality, it has a relatively high failure rate, and needed to be replaced, since it was only good for one use. Shane showed me the type that he recommends (he had recommended it on an earlier visit, too), and suggested that I budget to get it installed sometime in the next six months. While we were speaking, the cold water line leaked into the water heater pan, so the mystery of the tripped fuse was solved. We never realized that water was leaking sporadically, since the pan was always dry by the time the hot water had shut off and cooled. We would have known it was leaking if we'd installed the water sensor Shane originally recommended several months ago, since it has an alarm feature in addition to the automatic shut-off. As for the cold water leak, Shane had already told me that the cold water line setup was not done correctly by whoever installed it earlier, and the leaking while we both were standing right there certainly proved his point. Now that we realized what had caused the fuse to burn out, he went ahead and fixed the cold water line (as he'd also already recommended on an earlier visit) so that it wouldn't cause future problems. Being a middle-aged housewife, I am about the perfect demographic to get ripped off. But it is such a relief to know that I can trust Shane implicitly. Not only could he have installed the combination gas control as well as the thermocoupler, but he easily could have told me that I had to have that water sensor immediately, and I would have done it. But he never tries to upsell us in any way. Not only does he have a lot of professional integrity, he is just an all-around good person. Every time he's come over, I've always felt he went that extra mile. I have found that no one cares as much as a man who owns his own business and does his own work. Each job he does, he knows it's the reputation of his own company that is on the line. Shane has put his heart and soul into his business, and it shows. A plumber, no matter how personable or great at what he does, is one of those people you don't want to have to see again, because that means there's a problem. So I hope it's a good long while before I see Shane again, but when those plumbing issues inevitably crop up, it gives me a lot of peace of mind that I can call on Shane.

When we ran the washing machine, the bathtub on the other end of the house filled up with blue water. Soon every sink, tub, and toilet in the house was clogged. I e-mailed Shane, who had done some work for us in the past., at 4:00 Sunday afternoon. He replied within a few hours, and we got it scheduled. He showed up Monday morning as promised. Within no time he had found the source of the problem (clog in main drain) and cleared it out for us. Shane is a master plumber, and he really knows his stuff. Calling out a master plumber for blocked pipes may seem a bit of overkill for some. I disagree. I am very thrifty, but part of being thrifty is knowing when to spend just a little more to make sure things are done right. Shane may not be the absolute cheapest plumber out there, but his prices are very reasonable. And I knew that Shane would fix the problem quickly and efficiently. Even more important, because of my past dealings with him, I knew that I could trust him to give me a fair price and to do only the work that was needed. You just can't put a price on being able to trust someone like that.

Awful. They could not come for over a week, as it is first come first serve, and he apparently has no other employees other than himself. So he overestimates his ability ot manage his requests. He was going to charge me 70.00 for the garbage disposal bolts until I told him that I scanned the part and it was 16.99 at Home Depot. He said that it was not the same part. I told him it was exactly the same and he then said he does not pay that price for it. SO he pays more than retail?? I would think he would get it for wholesale at even less than the home depot price....as he is a vendor. He wasfinally able to find the parts that were missing (under my sink) so he did not charge me extra money at the end of the appointment. But our initial exchange left a bad taste in my mouth. Seriously theAngies List BIG DEAL, is not a good idea for emergent issues. Its like a GROUPON, where they get overwhelmed with too many requests....with only one person doing service calls (the ownder) and then get unhappy customers. And, I cannot attest to the quality of the work. I will repost when I can be sure that the work is satisfactory. I had more than one job, but I am not going to ask him to do them because I feel he will over charge me for parts and he makes me uncomfortable in general. My advice is even though this plumber appears to have the appropriate skill sets. He would be better off as en employee of someone else. He does not behave or carry himself as a company owner, one who is interested in retention and building repeat customer business. You have to be a good salesperson, be friendly and engender trust as well as have integrity. I do not feel he gets that the only thing you have as a business owner are these things, which amounts to a persons professional reputation. He gave me some good advice on another problem at the close of our business. So, I will actually try it, but if I need a plumber again. I cannot call him. I need someone of a higher caliber who is trust worthy and will not gouge me on price of parts and then not be truthful about the mark up.. UPDATE: ACTION PLUMBING, finished all my other work. Experience with alternate provider was E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T.!!!!
Description of Work: Fix disposal under kitchen sink Do not use Angies liest BIG DEAL. It is not worth the hassle of having the vendor be unable to handle all the requests they get. How can someone with a plumbing problem wait an entire week for service, which is what you have to do, as these mom and pop guys, with only one employee and their wives, who does the scheduling cannot keep up with the requests. She mixed me up with someone else and was not even going to show up as promised, until I sent an email the night before, wondering why no one had called me to confirm our Friday appointment. She is courteous, but confused. UPDATE: I did not read this guys rebuttal to my poor review, as I have already read War and Peace. Basically it boils down to this. The information he gave me about replacing my toilet, because of backflow, ended up being a non-issue. I called Action Plumbing to come out and do therest of my plumbing work on the toilet. He said nary a word about needing to replace an an entire toilet tank He said there are built in back check valves so that backflow of the sewer will not happen. He did the work I asked, was pleasant, professional, prompt, worked weekends, and did not UPCHARGE me 6x on the cost of parts. There is no comparison between the two providers. Sorry, that you disagree with me, but my experience with Partridge, was not good, and the scheduling issues and forgetting to contact me to confirm my initial appointment was acknowledged by he, himself. He did apologize for this, so if his response says anything to the contrary, well then you be the judge of how much "he doth protest too much". Remember, these reviews are only opinions. But, for me, I will stick with ACTION PLUMBING, next time I have a plumbing need.

Response from Partridge Plumbing
In response to the negative review left by this customer. I would like to explain the story in my own words and everything you find in this response is accurate and a result of the Customer’s negative review. I am of the opinion that her negative review goes with her negative attitude. Customer found me on Angie’s List, where my rating is an A. Customer contacted me via email on a Thursday asking me if I had received her coupon information. I reviewed my coupons and quickly responded that I had not. After a couple of emails back and forth where I ask her for her purchase confirmation number she replied that she did not have a confirmation number. I double-checked my records to insure I or my scheduler, who happens to be my Wife, had not overlooked the coupon purchase notification. I replied to Customer again explaining to her that her coupon information could not be found on-line and was not in my instant notification I receive on my mobile device. Understandably Customer was getting frustrated and replied there must be some kind of mix up on my end. I responded that there was no mix up that I had received no notification from Angles List of her coupon purchase and that if she would provide me with her confirmation number I would get the issue resolved .Customer replied and stated she would review her records and get back with me the next day. Friday she emailed me again asking if I had received her coupon notification information. I had not. During this time I was receiving other customer notifications and I was beginning to think that her purchase had not processed on-line as she thought .I asked her to look on her receipt for the confirmation number and she said stated she had lost it. I explained that she should be able to look her information up on line and she agreed and replied and said she would look into it and get back in touch with me as soon as she got it all figured out from her end. I replied okay and waited to hear back from her. Almost instantaneously I received notification on my mobile device that a coupon purchase had been made and it was from her .I emailed her immediately stating I had received her information. She stated that she had to pay Angie’s List twice which I found strange but did not question. She also stated that she needed me to come there immediately .I explained to her that the coupon purchase appointments are scheduled on a first come first serve basis and she was not happy about that. She stated this was an emergency situation and needed me to get there as quickly as possible which lead me to believe there must be a huge problem. I asked her what the issue was and she said that her disposal had fallen off and that there was water everywhere. I asked the Customer if the water only leaked when she used the faucet and she said yes .I recommended not using the faucet until the disposal got repaired. A sink / disposal is very important for every-day life, but it’s not an emergency that would require immediate attention like a flooded house would. I told her the most important thing she needed to do was leave the water turned at the faucet and let her know I could come out the next morning, which would have been Saturday and that a Saturday call would mean an additional charge. She was not interested in paying the weekend service fee. I said okay and explained that my scheduler, who as I stated before is my wife, would be in contact with her first thing Monday to get her scheduled .I explained the situation to my wife and requested we get her scheduled as soon as possible because she was without her kitchen sink and in a semi emergency situation .When I got home Monday and asked my wife about this Customer and what they got figured out she explained to me that the customer wanted to schedule an appointment the following Friday 12:00.That seemed strange to us because the Customer had been adamant about getting the disposal fixed as quickly as possible and understanding how difficult it is for a family to go without a kitchen sink we were perplexed by the situation and change in her acting like it was an emergency in the beginning .Late Thursday night around 10:30 I received an email from this customer saying that no-one had contacted her to confirm the Friday appointment. Normally I would have contacted the customer Friday morning confirming and I replied back to her apologizing for any confusion there may have been and confirming that her appointment was scheduled for Friday at noon .I had a feeling that maybe she wanted to re-schedule but she never said that .The next morning when my wife called the Customer to confirm the appointment at noon the Customer stated that noon was no longer good for her and asked that I come earlier if possible, which I did. As I stated before, I was sort of expected this so I had re-arranged my schedule the night before just in case. I arrived at the Customers house about thirty minutes after my wife spoke with her .I had a bad feeling about this but put those feeling aside because I am a professional, I rang the doorbell and the Customer answered. Feeling like we had got started off on the wrong foot I was trying to be as professional as possible. The Customer walked me to the kitchen and showed me the sink and she seemed to be acting strange. I noted that all of the stuff normally found under the sink was located on the kitchen floor. I immediately noted that all of the bolts that hold the disposal in its place were missing .I asked the Customer if she happen to have them or know where they were and she replied no and explained that her husband (or boyfriend) may not have put them in when he installed the disposal just a couple of weeks prior .I started looking through the stuff on the floor to try and locate the bolts and was not able to locate them .I explained to her that I did not have those bolts and recommended replacing entire flange. The Customer asked how much extra is that going to cost and I explained the cost of the parts would be about $75.00 and everything would be right when I was done. She said it has to be fixed so I guess we should do it. I went to my Van to gather everything needed and all of the sudden the Customer had her head and half of her body in my Van. I was almost scared. She said hey why you are charging me so much for these parts when I can go down to Home Depot and get them for $20.00. I explained to her that my Supplies House carries better quality parts and they are purchased in smaller volume and with other cost factored in parts are generally more expensive .She disagreed with me and asked me to give her break or cut her a better deal. Just wanting to do everything I could to make this customer happy I agreed and said okay how about $50.00?Again she said okay well it has to be fixed, let do it. As I continued to gather parts she went back inside I kept telling myself to keep up the professionalism and maybe you will win her over. This is where things went from bad to worse .When I went back inside to complete the task I immediately noticed that the bolts for the disposal were laying directly underneath the disposal .This was the area that was completely clean earlier. Knowing that they were not there earlier I asked her if she had placed them there and she responded no you must have overlooked them .Even though I knew they were not there earlier and that the Customer had to have placed them there while I was outside I decided to let it go and asked her if she would rather I repair the flange now that we have the bolts .She said yes and replied now maybe I can get the water today. Not knowing what that meant at the time I continued to repair the plumbing under the sink. Upon completion I went to fill the sink up with water to check my plumbing repair and when I turned on the faucet to fill up the sink with water I quickly realized what her comment was about in regards to the getting the water back on, her water had been completely turned off to the house .I asked if she had any water in the refrigerator I could use to test for leaks. She said sure I will get it for you and she gave me a half full cup of coffee. I explained to her that I would need to fill up the sink at least halfway to thoroughly check for leaks .She got very curt with me and told me that I would have to wait on the water department to come and turn her water back on. Then she said that could be sometime next week. Just wanting to check out of there I realized that I had only been there for about forty minutes and proceeded to take a quick look at her toilet which the Customer had also mentioned having a problem with. As we looked at it together I showed her the problems with it and told her that she would need to replace the toilet because the tank had multiple stress fractures in it. She stated that was not an option for her and that she would have her husband (or boyfriend) fix it. She repeated this over and over prior to me. I apologized and told her I was sorry but there is no way I would take a chance of just replacing the tank. As I was walking toward to the door I turned around and thanked her for her business and told her to have a great weekend. This is exactly how I remember this service call and I even told my wife the full story when I got home. I had a gut feeling the feedback from Customer was going to be negative but I stand behind my work and would not have done anything differently. As As always I believe I am the best of the best. My goal is to provide my customers with the absolutely best service that I can. I am a Mom and Pop Plumbing Company and proud of it and plan to keep it this way .I do not want employees miss-representing me or my Plumbing License and what it stands for. Word for word, detail for detail, and this response explains exactly the way I recall the experience with the customer. I take great pride in myself and the work I do. The past three times I have used Shane were all pleasant. Shane came when he promised, on time, fixed the problem, and gave me some preventive maintenance tips for my toilet. The charge from Shane on the work he has done was reasonable and less than I expected. Shane has been professional, courteous, and the service has been excellent.
Description of Work: I went to change a flush valve in my toilet but could not get it off for some reason. This is not the first time I have done this easy task but the flush valve would not come off and I did not want to break anything else. I had used Partridge Plumbing before and called Shane who came out within 30 minutes and looked at the flush valve. Shane did get the flush valve off but also noticed that the two bolts holding the tank onto the commode had a bad seals which was causing a different problem with the toilet. Shane changed out the bolts and seals which saved me from a bigger problem. Early on Monday, 4/23/12, in the morning, my wife noticed there was water on the floor of the bathroom, not much, but the toilet was leaking. I tightened the bolts to the base of the tub and watched the leak for a couple of days. After noticing the leak was not getting any better I called Shane on Monday, 4/30/12, and he came out and advised the problem was one of the seals he had installed was defective. Shane fixed the problem with no charge.

I felt it was a deception. They offered a coupon for 89 dollars, but that didn't entail the work I was looking to have done.

When Shane got here, he took one look at my shower, played with the faucet for a second and said that I had a leaky shower head and just needed a new one - that was it!!!! As I didn't have one for him to install, he proceeded to take the time to check out the rest of my plumbing and gave me a wonderful lesson on my house and the plumbing bits that make it up!. I think I have been told in the past that 80% of most homeowners claims are water related. Shane showed me examples of the types of things that typically break and cause problems. He also showed me the things I need to be aware of when I get a new water heater. He was full of great info!!!!! Would definitely recommend him to my friends and colleagues!!!
Description of Work: I had previously been told by another plumber, about a year ago, that I had to have all the tile ripped out of my bathroom to replace the leak in the shower. Over the past year I had been recycling the water leaking from the shower with a bucket, but finally could't take the drip noise anymore. So after joining Angie's List and seeing one of the plumbing deals I thought I would go ahead and get a second opinion

He went to work, and an hour later, everything was done. He was very friendly and professional. My wife is very happy, and we will certainly be using him again.

While I was in Ohio taking care of my mother after surgery, my husband called to tell me the garage was flooded from a broken hot water heater. Since he had to be at work for meetings, I logged onto Angie's List to assess local plumbers. After review of all the local options, I chose to call Shane Partridge. All of his reviews were positive and he took the time to respond to each review. Arranging all of the work over the phone, including the price estimate, was stressful for me. However, Shane was open with me about the possibilities of damage and repair and quoted me a price. He was at my house with my new hot water heater within the hour. I communicated through my daughter who was the only person at home to oversee the work. She was so impressed with the work he performed, the communication and the expedient service. He was only at our house for a couple of hours and I couldn't be more pleased with the service. I would recommend Shane to any of my friends for plumbing services. Thanks Shane!!
Description of Work: Changed out old, broken water heater for a new one and hauled off old hot water heater.
