+ -1 moreIt went great overall. Jonathon the owner came as scheduled, and even though he came from Ft. Worth (30 miles away) there was no travel cost or gas surcharge. He arrived on time and was able to not only do everything I had scheduled for him, but also check out my entire plumbing system to see if anything else was needed. He showed me a few things that I might consider in the future, but did not push me to hire him to do it now. Jonathon was highly skilled, knowledgeable and efficient. I will certainly call him back for my future plumbing needs.
Description of Work: I had a number of old sink and toilet cutoff valves that were quite old and stuck. I was concerned that forcing them might create a majob leak. So, I took advantage of an Angie's List BIG DEAL of $99 for $200 worth of plumbing services.

Asked him to do and then volunteered to check out the water heaters while he was here. There was nothing wrong with my water heaters, that that was nice to confirm. I will use this plumber again!

+ -1 more.Couldn't get information over phone about work or time that was covered by the Deal before I bought it. Finally was assured that Partridge would handle the ice maker situation when he came out.. He was on time: I was late since I had not yet moved into the house. During his walk-thru, which he was more interested in doing than anything else, he did discover a leaking bathtub and the bad showerhead. I had already bought a showerhead which he "guess"ed he could replace. When I asked about fixing the leak, he went back to look at it and reported that it wasn't leaking after all. My son had to fix the leak the following week. My impression is that the Deal is just an effort to create more profitable future trips rather than to offer plumbing service. However, he didn't want to talk about arrangements to fix the leak, a minor task apparently. I can appreciate the fact that the walk-thru is designed to create opportunity for a lot of head shaking and placement of doubt in the dependability of homeowners' plumbing systems so they will spend more money. However, I think it should be clear what the Deal covers before we book it. .
Description of Work: Disconnected non-working ice maker and capped the open sewer drain. Replaced showerhead. I provided. Walked around trying to find more work to be done or had been done wrong..

+ -1 moreHe would have given me the whole plumbing inspection, but I declined the offer. If you have leaky pipes, maybe you just need to tighten them yourself.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal through Angie's List. I had some leaky faucets, and all he did was come and tighten the pipe. I feel like for $99 he's going out and doing nothing.

+ -1 moreHe gave me additional information that the faucet I had was an inexpensive brand that probably wouldn’t last long. I’m treating the faucet carefully because of this. He also told me that the big box stores do not have the best fixtures; if I want better quality on them I need to go to a plumbing supply store. That tidbit was worth the price of admission alone. I mentioned another project in my house and he told me that it would cost more than the Big Deal I had purchased. He charged me $50 to do it, I felt like it should have been included in my two hours.

+ -1 moreGood experience; recommended. The original Big Deal was to install a new faucet, but since it turns out that I have "frost resistant" faucets, this was not covered by the original deal. However, the problem I was trying to fix was that this faucet would seriously leak/spray when turned on no matter how tightly the hose was attached. The plumber fixed that issue as the fulfillment of the Big Deal without additional charges for parts or labor.

+ 0 moreAbout a month later the sensor shut the hot water off, although the sensor did not sound the alarm. Shane came within 45 minutes. He could find nothing wrong. He reset the sensor, got the hot water back on and said if it happens again he will replace the sensor at no charge.
Description of Work: My parents were coming from out of town the next day when we discovered water in the hallway coming from our water heater. the drip was slow so we placed a pan under it. After looking on Angie's List, I called Partridge Plumbing at 8:00 the next morning.Shane called back and asked several questions. When I answered that the water heater was inside the house, he said he would be there within the hour. When he had to travel farther than anticipated to pick up a new water heater, he called to let me know he would be delayed. The old heater was removed and a new one was installed. He added a plastic pan and a water sensor. He had to upgrade the flashing around the vent and he removed an out-of-code gas line than my dad had piggy-backed onto the main gas line. He also noticed a flexible hose on my heating unit that was vibrating and wearing a hole in the gas line. He replaced that with a non-flexible line. The cost was $1700. It was quite a bit more than I had expected, but he did take care of several small issues and bring everything up to code. He explained everything he did and the cost of each. He was polite, punctual, and left everything looking better than he found it. I would definitely recommend Partride Plumbing.

I trust his judgement that the condition and grade of the previous water heater made it necessary to replace it, as the builder's installation was lacking in many ways. The new water heater works fine and we consider the price to be quite reasonable. In the future, I will call Partridge Plumbing for my plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Shane came for the Angies's List special water heater service and found several problems with the heater. Based upon his expertise and professional advice, we decided to replace the water heater, as it was 9 years old and a very poor builders' grade. Shane was able to schedule the replacement a couple of days later and completed the work as promised.
