Response from Partridge Plumbing
First off,I`m somewhat taken by the negative feedback from this member.I am a small company trying to make a living in these hard economic times just like everyone else.I do not hire an answering service to take my calls after hours and on the weekends,I foward my calls to my personal cell phone.I`m not a corporate plumbing company.I simply stated my professional opinion to this gentleman about where to purchase a water heater, because of problems that I have seen in the field with certain brands of water heaters. This gentleman also asked me to give him a price over the phone to swap out a water heater if he purchased the heater.I told him probably around 500 dollars.First off,It`s almost impossible to price a water heater change out over the phone because every water heater job is different.I need to pull a 50 to 100 dollar permit with the city and put this water heater in per plumbing code. There are several old water heaters I swap out that need some minor or major adjustments to bring up to new codes.I also stated that I`m old school and with every water heater change out I put in a new ball valve and all new hard copper.I do not use flex lines I`ve seen the flood to many houses.Sears and Home Depot in most cases will hire the cheapest subcontractor they can find to come to your home and change out you water heater, its usually during the week and they give you a four hour window to sit and wait.By the time they sell you a warranty you dont need you will be way over the 500 dollars I quoted.Bottom line, you get what you pay for.I`m a licensed Master plumber and i do professional work. Thanks for reading....
