Smith Lawn & Tree

I got a bill for $75.00, which seemed a bit excessive for such a short service call. When I questioned this, they reduced it to $54, which, while still a lot for changing a fuse, they were amenable to negotiating a reduced fee. So, all in all, I'm satisfied, and will ask them to bid on some tree work I need done.

Couldn't be better. Jud took a great deal of time explaining what would be done and why. He answered any concerns, fixed anything I didn't like, he even made a second trip out to Azle just to meet with my wife to pick landscape plants...and brought sample plants with him. We had planned to do the landscaping ourselves but after seeing Smith Lawn's work, we hired them to take care of it right away.

I am happy with the lawn and shrubs. If I needed to do it again I would go back to them.

The owner personally came on several occasions to supervise the work being done on our yard. After the installation a few minor concerns arose. Our sprinklers were pointing the wrong direction, and we noted a low laying spot in our back yard that was allowing water to collect. On both occasions, Mr. Smith personally came out to our property to inspect and remedy the problem. The only complaint we have is that on more than one day, the company's workers arrived late, and left well after 7:30 PM.

They did an excellent job. I would recomment them to anyone. They are good people.

Smith had the highest bid of the companies contacted but was much more professional and had several suggestions to help improve the system. Jud was very professional and his crew arrived about 9:00 a.m. and finished the job by 7:00 p.m.

They were excellent. They removed the trees and pruned a tree. They cleaned up very well. The price was more then fair.

I asked if he knew anyone that could trim my trees. He offered to trim them right then. He was very nice. The gentleman was great as was the work.

They also planted grass and shrubs. Things went well.

I almost always get three estimates for work of this magnitude, but I could tell from the Angie's List reviews and especially from the owner's initial in-person consultation that there was no need to inquire further, as I know what is entailed in this kind of work. It is labor intensive. They have a wonderfully adept tree climbing foreman named Fransisco who uses ropes and they had a huge wood chipper like the city uses that made short work of the whole job in one day; the largest pieces of trunk were hauled off. The crew is instructed in clean up better than most would be expected to be; I had very little to pick up from a huge job. The second time I had them out I was able to name the price within $100 as I knew what they would charge for various sized trees. I know there has been some turnover of owner/employee personal, but would not hesitate to use them or recommend them again. They keep in touch, showed up when promised, and did excellent work.

After several phone calls, Jud came out to give me an estimate. The estimated cost for everyting was $2000.00. I asked what it would cost for only certain items to be removed. The estimate came down to $675.00. Jud informed me that he would contact me on 6/25 to let me know when this work could be scheduled. Today is 6/30 and I still have not heard from him. I am looking for someone else to do the work.

I think everything went good, they were nice and everything. We just decided not to have the work done. They were responsive and punctual. I don't have anything negative to say about them.

The guy that messed it up is no longer with them, so I won't bad mouth them, but I found someone else to manage my sprinkler system. The man who came to fix the mess up was very nice, he knew what he was doing, and he was very good.

Jud was knowledgeable and made several suggestions to make my lawn and garden better. I would use Smith Lawn and Tree again.

They did a good job. They did what they said they would do. I spent about $400 on their service. They were professional. Other companies wanted me to wait for months, but this company came out immediately. I will consider using them again in the future.

They were better than excellent. They were here on time and the company owner even showed up to check on them. They wouldn't even take a break. Their price was incredibly reasonable compared to the other estimates I received.

This was our first landscaping renovation and I have been very pleased with the entire experience. Russell was prompt in returning all phone calls and quotes, he showed up on time for every meeting, and the work was mostly completed within 3 days as predicted. The workers were skilled and professional and consulted with me appropriately about several last-minute changes in design. All necessary sprinkler modifications and the installation of 2 underground drains were included in the price, as well as a 1 year warranty on all plants, which sealed the deal for me. Nearly 2 months later, almost all of the plants are doing just fine; my concerns about a few plants have been quickly addressed. I was so happy with the work they did for me that I hired them to take over our weekly lawn service, and will most likely hire them again next year to lay sod in the front yard.

I did not use them. They sent a young man and he seemed to know what he was talking about. I got a little bit better price from someone else.

Estimate was prompt, however work was delayed by several days due to volume of company's work. I would have preferred a realistic date up front so I would not have stayed home all day. When workers trimmed tree, they used safety ropes and worked in a professional manner, completely cleaning and chipping all limbs, leaves, etc.
