ARS / Rescue Rooter Ft. Worth

Do NOT call this company. My aunt and uncle moved into a new house and called them for a simple clogged toilet after someone used the restroom. It was $89 dollars just for the appointment and then they quoted them $350 to snake the toilet. A fix that could have been been done with a plunger had they called me first. My aunt was shocked and the technician brought it down to $260 dollars. They took advantage of my elderly aunt and uncle. Throwing out, what seem like, random numbers. They price gouge and they are thieves. I’ve reported them to the BBB to do my part in preventing other people from having the same experience. I will repeat, Do NOT use this company.

They were fine. They responded right away.

$200. PLUS JUST TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM. ANOTHER $200. TO FIX IT. SATURDAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS. HAD US AND THEY KNEW IT.

Great. As it should befrom a skilled master plumber. He's now my go-to guy.

I have used them several times in the past and they are always responsive and take care of the problem.

Long story short it all night cleared clog.... more details I have 110 foot run I now know...theu showed up with 75 roto and 100 foot camera they pushed clog out 75 foot said it won't go more must be clogged then camera came when at 76 foot it hit darkness they said collapsed...i that night check them on angles list and saw 2 bad swear reviews and took a closer look and realized what they did....i will say he was prompt but who wouldn't be if the plan is too scan me out of 7k....so yea buy a 3 inch water bladder from hardware store run it for a few hours first...note i said hours

Total time from placing the call to work completed was less than two hours.

They didn't do a good job the first time. So they had to come out here and install 2 other units because whatever they put in wasn't working. So I had a battle over that. I would not use ARS again. 

One of the things the first time is the group they sent out here I couldn't explain to them what was happening. They were trying to fix something up in the ceiling and said it was working up there. I said what good is it up there, I am not getting any air down here. We went around and around but they finally settled it and it got squared away. But it took some time and I shouldn't have had to do that. 

The price was fine, because I had gotten higher prices. I didn't have a problem with the price. They were punctual, didn't have a problem with that. I would not use them any more.

- They gave me a window of 8 - 12 to arrive, then showed up at 12:30 (30 min outside the 4 hour window). No one bothered to call and notify me they were running late. I called them at 11:30 and they said they would be there in 30 min (it took them an hour). Just don't even give a window if you won't show up in it-- customers waiting around for you for 4 hours is annoying. - When they showed up, the technician instantly diagnosed the toilet being "the problem" and that I "needed a new one." I knew this was wrong (because the water was gurgling when the sink or bathtub ran) so I had to talk him into actually cleaning the line. When he did clean the line it fixed the problem. I am glad I actually got him to fix it instead of taking his initial advice. - The price is pretty high. One good thing is they do work on Sundays-- lots of companies don't work on Sundays so I appreciate that at least.

Upon the arrival of the technician, he checked the front bathroom and looked at the clean out drains.  The one directly in the back of the house was not draining at all and water was all over the yard.  I showed him the other clean out drain in the back of the garage but I could not see any back up there.  I don't think he utilized that clean out drain since he did not replace the marker for it.  I had shut off the water to the toilet prior to his coming but the water in both the toilet and the bathtub had not drained at all when he arrived.  He quoted.$330.00 and I didn't argue.  I just wanted it fixed in a timely manner.  It didn't seem to take too long.  We talked about what he had to do to fix the problem when he finished.  There were some roots he told me and quite a few blocks in the line.  He also snaked the tub to make sure there was no debris that might stop it back up.  He explained about the roots that can even get through PVC.  Since I have been in the house since 1969 and the PVC was installed back in the 70's, it could be possible that the joints could be going bad.  He also suggested a degreaser for the drains which we added.to the bill and he brought it in before he left with the cup for the mixing since it is a concentrate.  I was to put that down all the drains and leave it overnight.  I thought I was buying a full bottle of degreaser since I did not see him use any of it.  What he left me was an open bottle which only had about a third of the product in it.  I'm still a little confused and wonder if I was over charged for that. The other issue was that I discovered after he had left that there was no discount either as an Angies List customer or a discount for being a Senior Citizen on the bill.  I guess this could be partly my fault for not asking about it when it was quoted but I would have thought the office would have given him that information to use when he was doing the billing on site. I think everyone should know that you do need to make sure you are given any discount when it comes down to paying at the time of service.  It doesn't matter if you discussed it when you unitized the call.  It seems the technicians march to their own drumbeat.

Called ARS because there was a clog in the drain line in kitchen and washer line. A guy came out and tried to unclog the drain line for almost 30 minutes. He said he couldnt get his snake any further and pulled out mud. We didnt actually see the mud like he said there was. He said there could be a break in the main line. He set us up an appointment with Chad Stanley. " plumbing repair specialist" A master plumber. he gave us estimates on three different options all was almost 10 k for each option. I felt there wasn't something right so we called for a second opinion. And guess what !!!! They cleared the line and ran a camera down the pipe. There was no mud and no break in the line. Shame one you ARS and chad for trying to scam us in thousand of dollars! Being dishonest is not how you do business and your arrogance doesn't help you either ! Everyone please beware of this company and always get a second opinion. It could save you big bucks ! We will be reporting you to the BBB!

My sewer backed up through my toilets last night. I called ARS at 8am this morning and they dispatched a truck by 10:30. Robert looked everything over and gave me a bid I could live with and immediately started to work. He had everything cleaned out in less than an hour. He also called a rep to video my line and give me a bid for replacement. $8000 to replace 40 feet of line, seems high but I haven't researched it yet. All in all Robert did me a good job, I would definitely recommend ARS for rooter service and commend Robert for quality work and a good attitude.

Tech was on time, professional and courteous. He was quick and efficient.
