Texans Credit Union

Banking/Credit Unions,

About us

In 1953, eleven Texas Instruments, Inc. (TI) employees pooled five dollars each and petitioned the Texas Banking Commission to establish an organization that would promote thrift and provide low-cost loans to TI employees. Soon after, a charter was granted by the State of Texas and Texins Credit Union was born. Just three months later, at year’s end, membership had grown to over 267 members and assets totaled $6,855.73. A tradition of excellence had begun.

questioned Texans CU why a payment that cleared my back did not get posted until 3 days after it was cleared.  This continues to happen and they say they haven' received the money.  Then where is it?  If the bank cleared the amount from my checking account.  I have to submit my payment electronically and it is not the bank faults.  It is Texas CU fault.  I have not received a late charge, but remember there is interest accruing for 3 days after the payment should have been posted to the loan.  Just not a good way to do business.  The rate was 2.85% which was good.  That's about all I can say good about the loan process and Texans CU.

I do not recommend Texas CU for an auto loan.

after moving to texas, i looked for a credit union to use. texans was highly recommended to me. i called and asked if i could bring my dog in with me as i had her in my bike basket with me. yes. i set up 2 accounts with them that day, followed by getting car insurance with them. i emailed a question to them at one point, promptly emailed me back saying the phone # on record (for me) wasn't good anymore. they usually like to answer questions on the phone or in person but since they weren't able to do that, answered via email concisely and accurately. every transaction i've had with them has been exceptional. i get personal attention, greeted with hi's, how's your dog, what can we do for you every time i walk in the door.
