Fence repair and stain

They were responsive to get me a quote but were unresponsive after that. The quote looked professional and the price was comparable. After turning in the paperwork I would try to find out when they would come. I was told each time I called that they are working on the schedule. I was told it was 2-3 weeks out and I would receive an email. I never did. After 2 weeks I called to check status and was told someone would call me. They did not. I would make several calls over the next two weeks and each time I was told someone would call me. No one ever did. The receptionist, though polite, made excuses about weather. I called another company and they responded and got the job done 3 days later. I can't tell you if they are any good at the service they provide, but they do not do what they say they are going to do, call. I never found the reason I got the runaround.

Texas Best Stain is an awesome company to work with. They did such a great job staining & repairing our fence. We had many rain delays & they kept us informed all the time. We will definitely be using them again next time our fence needs staining AND will recommend them! Actually I already have!! :-)

Texas Best Stain stained my fence and replaced some split pickets and they did an outstanding job. I am very pleased with the work and they did exactly what I wanted. I had 2 fences that were being stained, and they were being stained with different types of stain. Additionally, there were 3 pickets that needed to be replaced. Given that there were a number of specifics with this project, I was a little uncertain that it was going to be done exactly as I had requested. However, it was done correctly and it was done very well. There was even one part of the fence that was behind a shed and there was limited room behind the shed, but even that section appears to have been done well. Great job!

I solicited bids from 6 different companies. Texas Best Stain was one of the better priced companies for the work requested. They came and power washed our fence, garage door, and shutters the day before staining. On the day of staining the crew did a good job of cleanup and ensuring I was satisfied with the work. Their email system (through Salesforce CRM) is a bit wonky though, as a few emails didn't seem to go through when I was replying to confirm quotes and schedules.

Said they would call me within 24 hours. It has been 72 + hours and they have not contacted me. I have canceled my request

We had so much rain, it was hard to get it scheduled. When power washed, they completely covered the pool in plastic film to protect it. They decided to stain with rollers when staining, so the pool was not covered, but they did a very complete job. The only problem was getting scheduled and rescheduled because of the rain. They would not do it if it was too wet or humid. I'm glad for that.

The front office is very response and professional. Initially the work was unacceptable, but they did offer to repair the issues. Only about 70% of issues were addressed however. There was supposed to be a second follow up to finish addressing all issues that did not occur. Also, the stain ended up more like a paint than a stain as expected, which I don't feel was explained well enough. Mixed results but I'd consider using them again depending on the project.

Overall the work was fine. The gentleman that actually did the work was great, showed up on time, protected surrounding area well, cleaned everything up afterwards. But it was hard to get the work scheduled and I thought it was expensive for such a small deck and compared to what I've paid other companies in the past for the same work. I should have read the Angie's List Deal more closely to better understand the area covered by the initial price. If I hadn't purchased the Angie's List Deal, I probably would have shopped around more.

We never expected that the Big Deal we purchased for $249 for 150 square feet of stain would cover all repairs that were necessary. But, we did not expect that the estimate would be so large. We are feeling a little like the victims of a bait and switch scheme. We will get a couple other estimates before making a decision. We have already spent $249 with Texas Best Stain. We are just trying to decide how much we want them to do and how much (if any) will go to someone else. As of now, we haven't been able to schedule anyone else to come to the house for an estimate.

On April 6, 2015 I purchased the "Angie's Deal" for deck staining offered by Texas Best Stain. I was very impressed by the quick response from Rocky Cloninger and confident that this would be a easy and timely transaction. Rocky was out the next day to measure and evaluate my deck and April 8 emailed me the contract with a promise to contact me by the end of the week with a schedule date. April 9, 2015 I received a form letter dealing with delays due to the rain we received. April 17 I contacted Texas Best Stain inquiring about a schedule date which I quickly received a reply from Rocky giving me the schedule of cleaning on the 29 of April and staining on the 30. Cleaning was as scheduled but the staining was not performed. I made special arrangements for my daughter to be here as I had other obligations. Not only did they not arrive I did not even get a phone call saying they would not be here. April 18 I called Texas Best Stain inquiring about not showing up and was told they would be out on Saturday May 2. Once again I juggled my schedule to accommodate their appointment only to experience another no show and no call. May 4 I received from Michelle Cloninger a invoice for the remaining balance on the job, I quickly emailed her that the job was not done. She emailed me that a crew would come out that day around 4 - 5 p.m. I expressed my concern about it looking like rain and she told me that the stain only needed an hour or two to soak in. The worker arrived at 7:00 p.m. and finished at 8:30, sunset was at 8:10 so he was literally working in the dark and the job shows it. Many areas have no stain on it at all, where the roller could not reach is apparent by the stopped roller marks, stain was dripped on my pavestone pavers and the job was made even worse by the rain that we had that night. May 5 I informed Michelle Cloninger by email how unhappy I was with the job and of the stain on my pavers, she told me Rocky would call which he never did. They did send out the worker to try and clean my pavers but unfortunately was unsuccessful.

They did a great job and exactly what the deal stated. I was not home while they did the service. I had no problem scheduling the service.

Scheduling was OK. We were trying to work around our son’s graduation and needed to take down lights that had been put up for the party as they weren’t able to make it out after the party. They got some of the stain above the garage door on the eaves. We have stained our fence in the past and this stain seems to be fading already and the wood looks dry. We’ve used them before and previous experience was better.

Provider took 2 weeks to set appointment. Did not send bid when he said he would-I had to e-mail him. Spent about 3 minutes at my house-never gave me a card or any detail of the service. I paid $249 and he said "it will be just a little more". His final bid came back at $600. I think that is a lot more. He knew when he came that the expense was going to be more.
