They were great and punctual. They gave some ideas, they didn't make any messes and they did a good job.

We called Texas Best Fence because they put up a new 120' long, 8' fence at our home a couple of years ago on one side of our property, and gave us the best looking fence in the neighborhood.  So we called them back for a staining project we had with other parts of our fencing. They in turn recommended another company who I guess is not directly associated with them, but has a similar name, Texas Best Stain.  Or they may be associated, we don't know.
We set our appointment with Rocky, he came out and gave us good suggestions and colors that we had no idea was available. After emailing us his estimate, he did require half the money up front which we had no problem with.  We had several appointments for them to get started but it kept getting delayed due to weather.  Rocky kept us informed via email and voice messages.  
When his crew did come out they replaced a small 8' section of a 6' fence on the side of our house.  So they can do smaller fence jobs.  They used the same pre-stained wood as Texas Best Fence used. We had new neighbors move in next door who took down our old 6' high,100' fence on the side and replaced it with an 8' fence which was not prestained, but we thank them anyway.  TBS spent one whole day power washing the side fence as well as power washing our garage doors, shutters, shed and a 200' original 6' fence at the backyard.  I have to say, the guy doing the powerwashing treated his job as if he was a skilled surgeon, not missing a square inch of space and did an excellent job.
They were supposed to come back the next day and put on the stain but it rained for the next 5 days.  I imagine that set them back quite a bit.  Rocky kept sending us email and telephone calls about the timing, and kept us in the loop.
When it was dry and sunny enough, the crew came back and stained all the areas we had contracted them to stain. Our shed is about 6 years old and it wasn't taking too well to the stain, and so they recommended a different kind of less transparent stain which had to be hand applied.  Now our wood shed looks brand new.  Hmmm just remembered, they didn't even charge extra for that.  The new 8' fence looks great as well as the older 6' fence up on the hill at the rear of our house.  They had to go through obstacles (large bushes along our rear fence) but managed to get every square inch of it stained.  They went over it twice.  Our garage and front shutters look excellent.
Overall, I think some of the other complaints about this company may have had to do with bad weather which may have set their crews back a few days.  Not much they can do about that.  TBS made up for it with their constant communication which made us very comfortable with having to pay half in advance.
I would say that Texas Best Stain is right on par with Texas Best Fence, which by the way, how the heck after over a year, our fence line is as straight as sharp edge, I'll never understand.  Other fence companies in the area who came in after the big storms a couple of years ago look like crap already.  Ours still looks brand new.  Pre-stained wood planks make the difference. The crew setting the poles is important too.

I called Texas Fence and it was a few days before I heard from them. Then I did not hear from Rocky for another couple of days. A date was set finally to come and provide an estimate for insurance purposes and I took the afternoon off that day.  I had to call Texas Fence and was told by Rocky he was too busy; however, after telling him I took the afternoon off for his estimate, he, in fact, made the time and came over. He took his time and provided me with the estimate (which was much less than I had expected). The work was scheduled (and then rescheduled) and I had to call to find out where they were the date set for repairs. Once the workers arrived, they worked well and completed the repairs extremely well. The result was more than satisfactory. If they could get their scheduling and timeliness down, this place would be almost perfect.  I still will use them again if this type service was required due to the quility of their work.

I tried to meet with Rocky 3 times. First time he arrived 3 hours early. The second and third time he was late and I could not wait. Very frustrating. I called Texas Best Fence to get the work done. Not sure how I ended up with Texas Best Stain. Terrible ratings and that isn't who I called.

These guys were easy to work with, and their bid was right in line with the other bid I got.  Rocky sent me a written proposal, which I agreed to. We set a date for the next week, and his crew of 2 came out and did the work.  They ran into an issue with some tree roots, called me to explain and asked me to come take a look so I could make my decision about how to address the problem properly. They were very helpful suggesting a solution, which I took, and they installed the fence with gate in one day and removed the old fence debris within a day as promised.  They were really responsive and great to work with.

Have been stood up twice now in attempts to meet to discuss the work that needs to be done to my fence. First time I specifically took off  work to meet with him and  he was a no show. So I sent him an e-mail and he claimed he walked the fence and could give me a quote, which never came.  Finally calls me a week or so later and asks if I am ready to proceed.  I informed him I never received the quote. He then starts to talk about what needed to be done, however, when I asked specifically about the replacement to several support boards that were split he claimed that he must have missed them. He then suggests that we can meet the next day and he would call 30 minutes before arriving.  Again, no call, no show.
