They did everything as promised and it worked out great. I think their pricing was average. They were very professional and met all their deadlines.

I guess I'm from a place where some services seem to cost less.  I was a bit shocked at the price quoted.  I checked with my neighbors and found that the price was actually very competitive with other fence companies, however.  I decided to build the fence myself and was able to complete for less than 2300.00.  I feel that the gate I built can compete with the best of them too.  I suppose it all depends on whether you want to take the time (and effort) to do it yourself or not.

They were great. I got 2 bids and they came up with the best bid. They were good. The price was reasonable.

They were awesome. They did a great job. Their bid came in as the lowest of the three bids that I got. I did not have a single dislike about them. They came out, gave me an estimate and talked me through how the fence would be constructed because there was a retaining wall involved. They talked to me about how they would pre-stain the wood that was actually stained when they built the fence. So, all in all, I was very satisfied with them.

They are absolutely wonderful people and a wonderful group. Work was wonderful too. I don't know what else I could tell you other then wonderful! They did a really good job. They worked well with us. One of owners, Shane Reed, came out and he is the one I worked with and he was incredible.

We worked with Shane Reed, who was very professional, and always punctual with our appointments.  He worked with us to replace the old fence around our backyard.  There was considerable shrubbery between our pool and the fence, which created a potential issue in turning the fence around.  Shane spent considerable time evaluating and mapping the property.  Because of his attention to detail, he was able to set the posts on the outside, bringing the fence in a few inches, and was able to not destroy the landscaping.   His crew started the work on Monday and were complete by Thursday, and they picked up completely!  The neighbors commented they had never seen a harder working crew.  The staining was done about 4 weeks later, and looks great!   The fence includes two gates, and one of the planks cracked vertically where the gate latch was attached, and Shane had his crew out within a week to replace and stain it exactly.  Great service, and I would highly recommend Reed Fence & Deck Company.

Shane came out to do our estimate. He was friendly and informative.  We discussed options based within our budget and needs. He provided a reasonable estimate and did not try to sell us more than we could afford or need. He was willing to discuss different options within our budget.  His estimate included detailed information for us to make our decision.
When we contacted Shane to select his company, he scheduled a time that worked for us to sign the contract.  It took several weeks to install due to previous jobs and the rain storms we had.  Work began when scheduled and was completed in 3 days (with a rain delay in the middle).
When I arrived home on the last day, the workman were inspecting their own work and fixing any nails that might need an additional hammer after the nail gun. They cleaned up their supplies and mess.
The fence is great and looks very well done!  We are very happy and have already given Reed Fence's name to several friends.

Shane was very professional and knowledgeable on fencing recommendations and options for fences. I saved about $400 going with his recommendations. I had uneven fence, they installed a tired section fence, put in retaining boards, and leveled the new fence so the height was even on top, then tired  fence to insure a minimum of a 6ft height. Shane was on time for all scheduled appointments, answered my phone calls and when I left him a message responded in a reasonable amount of time. He worked with me on removing the fence so that the city could pick it up on my bulk trash day, but his crew hauled it away my  old fence at to extra charge. They finished installing the fence ahead of schedule. I highly recommend Shane Reed and if I have a need to put in another fence, his company will be putting it in for me.

Shane was great through the entire process.  I had interviewed over 20 companies before I settled on Reed Fence.  Shane was always checking up on the process to see when I was ready to proceed with the fencing project.  Shane was not the most expensive or the cheapest, but I found someone that I could truly work with to really develop the space correctly.  I really appreciate Shane taking the time to explain everything he was doing and he communicated each step of the project expertly every step of the way. 

Reed fencing installed approximately 110 feet of new cedar, board on board fence and it came out perfect and exactly what we asked for. We had 3 companies quote on the project and Reed were a small amount less than the other 2 but that was not the deciding factor in choosing Reed Fencing. The fact that Shane came out to the home and the others did not was our sign of a good contractor. He discussed our options and provided some really good suggestions. We would highly recommend this company.

Shane Reed was very professional in everything he did, returning phone calls in a timely manner, giving estimates, and working within our tight schedule to have the fence approved by our homeowner's association and completed.  He helped us to understand the options for the fence.  The workers arrived on time to build, worked professionally and efficiently, and cleaned thoroughly at the end of each day.  Shane came by each day to check on their work and make any necessary changes.  Their work is quality work as well as beautiful.  Shane responded quickly with any concerns, even returning within 24 hours to build an additional small piece on the fence, to aid in safety.  We plan to use Reed Fence again for another project, and can highly recommend them!

Moving forward with other another fence company

I actually had a friend recommend him and then have him come out and bid along with two other companies and he came in at the lowest price. They started on schedule and completed the job on schedule. I would use them again.

His service is excellent.  He is very reliable.

They are great.  Out of every company I have ever talked to about fence, I liked them a lot.  The guy that I met with was very knowledgeable, stood out in my mind.  They were a very good company.  I would definitely recommend them to others.  I was very satisfied with them.

New Fence Construction:
Reed Fence and Deck Company replaced our old 8' fence and did an outstanding job. I provided a survey of the property and salesman Britt Reid provided a written estimate, and worked with the utilities to mark utility lines, and the city for permit and inspection after fence was completed. Also spent time looking at various accessible latches for two gates on the fence, but we ended up going with the standard one. Also improvised and found some plastic tubing that fits around a section of the gate spring that rubbed against the fence when opening and closing. Hey, I didn't want a little groove worn in my new fence and the tubing worked great!

When it was time to build the fence the on-site crew was fast, they hauled away the old fence, and cleaned up after themselves. Holes were dug, 11? posts set up, and the 8? board on board fence was constructed professionally. I'm not a fence guy and I didn't realize the fence would be constructed ? and then the 8? Walk Gates cut-out/constructed. It makes sense after seeing them constructed and the two Walk Gates fit like a glove. For a while, I thought they forgot the gates! Learn something new every day I guess.

I chose to have the poles facing the outside in the alley so the nice red cedar boards show from the inside of the yard. The fence and gates are sturdy, well built, and looks nice! I really recommend the board on board for privacy, especially if you have a swimming pool. Reed Fence matched 4' Walk Gate on front side of house to match neighborhoods picket fence as close as possible.

Several weeks after the fence was constructed a crew came out to stain and seal the fence. In between the time the fence was built and it was stained several big storms occurred and a significant amount of mud splattered up on the fence. I was concerned how it would be stained with all the mud and salesman Britt Reid explained the fence would be washed before it was stained ? and it was.

When the fence and gates were stained and sealed, tarps were laid out on the ground and around my pool to protect it when the fence stain and seal was applied. Also, some type of soapy water mixture was sprayed on the house/windows so the sealant mixture that was sprayed onto the fence wouldn't gunk-up and stick to house/windows. Good job because stain and seal was on the fence and nothing else.

Communications:  After an initial phone call, Britt Reed came out to do the measurements and estimate. I communicated with Britt Reed via e-mail and responses to questions were returned timely. After the fence was constructed he inspected it for quality. After it was stained and sealed he inspected it. The city of Plano also inspected it. 

Overall Satisfaction: I was nervous heading into the project because I see bad fence jobs all the time driving through various neighborhoods ? and it was a significant investment. All I can say is it was smooth from start to finish, it's a sturdy beautiful professional job, and I couldn't be happier with the finished product. Again, I would really recommend the board on board approach if you can afford it as it adds to privacy. In the backyard by the pool, I feel like I'm in O.J.?s compound with an 8? board on board fence with the tightly fitted gates.
