Although expensive, they did quality work.  It took them around 2 days.  It was well done and they left the windows squeeky clean.  They were professionals although it seems the guys that caulked weren't as well trained, but, the job was great.

We have a Pella Inswing French Patio Door with single pane tempered glass sidelight windows on either side.  A rock from the lawnmower broke one of the sidelight windows. We contacted several glass companies to replace the window, but they each said that they would not work on a Pella because it's too difficult to get right.

We contacted Pella about replacing the windowpane, describing our product and what we needed done.  They told us that they still had our information on file from when we had the window installed ~15 years ago.  They quoted us $655.25 to replace a 12 x 64" sheet of tempered glass! They also informed us that if *WE* ordered the wrong glass that the glass was not returnable.

I contacted them reminding them that our window was a single sheet of tempered glass and not a gas filled multilayer insulated glass window, and I questioned whether the $655.52 cost was for just replacing this piece of glass or if they were going to replace the entire French door unit. It turned out that they were quoting us the cost of replacing an INSULATED glass window, even though we had specifically told them already that it was NOT insulated and even though Pella apparently did not even offer insulated glass in our product when it was installed 15 years ago.  They revised the quote to $212.57 to replace the single sheet of tempered glass.  The quote included $150 labor for 2 workers for 1 hour.  We accepted this quote, as we seemed to have no other choice, and they scheduled replacement of our broken window for THREE WEEKS LATER.

On the day that they were to replace the window, they had scheduled the appointment for between 1 & 3 PM.  At 1:25 PM they called to say that one of the two workers had had a family emergency and they would need to reschedule.  They would TRY to work us in and not put us back at the end of the schedule. The next day ONE worker came out and spent an hour replacing the glass pane.  Pella did NOT adjust the $150 labor charge because they had supplied one worker for 1 hour rather than 2 workers for 1 hour as contracted.

The worker did a pretty good job of cleaning up the broken glass.  (Since it was tempered glass, the window shattered into hundreds if not thousands of pieces, but did not fall out of the frame until the frame was dismantled.) There was still some glass for us to clean up when he finished.  I can see why the independent glass companies were reluctant to tackle the job. The frame that holds the glass did not go completely back into place, and in a couple of corners the adhesive/caulking extrudes out.

When we contacted Pella, they did not listen properly to our description of our product nor look carefully at their records of our product.  As a result, they misquoted us $655.25 for the wrong product and made it sound like we would be financially responsible for THEIR mistake in ordering the wrong glass if we had not questioned it.  They then took 3 weeks to schedule the repair, did not come on the scheduled date, and did not adjust the price when they did not supply the contracted workers.  The installation itself was acceptable, but less than ideal.

I will NOT be purchasing Pella products in the future.

The work was perfect. The best part about them was that they came from far away and spent quite a bit of time explaining everything about the windows. They told me what all they could do for me. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

It cost a lot. We used them because of the quality of the door. We were pleased with their work but we were definitely not pleased with the price. They do quality work and do it when they say they are going to do it.

problems with the shutter bar matching the middle of the window. problem with the order.2 windows were not made. Two small for the company to make.Had a problem with the install date.Only half the windows were installed on the agreed time .Had to come back two weeks later for the rest. The sales person was not available to help. The install crew was outstanding.

The quality of the windows and doors is excellent. The installation process was another matter. When they arrived they informed me that I needed to move one of my cars from my garage so they could use it as a staging area for the duration of the job - no one warned me before they arrived. They told me when they arrived on Monday it would take 4 days to complete. On the second day, the foreman told me that they would need to finish up at least a day early since they had scheduled another job for the end of the week. Pella did not cover furniture, floors and rugs so my home was left filthy. We were not able to live in it for several days after the work was completed. Pella had to have rugs and furniture professionally cleaned - and we wound up throwing out some rugs that wouldn't come clean. They also had to have a cleaning crew come out to to a top to bottom clean. Pella left filthy hand prints on walls, holes in walls and a broken tile in the bathroom. They promised to make it right and were somewhat helpful in that regard but the remediation process took too long. Two of the windows were missing hardware when they arrived and I was promised it would be provided in a few days. It took several weeks (and phone calls) before my hardware arrived. For the money, this was a MAJOR disappointment.

We wanted a hardwood front door and their prices were SOOOO expensive. Even the prices for their fiberglass doors were more than we ended up spending on the doors we ended up with. I think the estimate was around $5000.00, for two doors including installation. We ended up spending around $2000.00 on a hardwood front door, steel back door and fiberglass storm door. We got the doors from Lowe's. Lowe's installed the steel and storm door and we installed the front door ourselves. Wayyyyy better deal.

They showed up when they said they would. They were fine, but I found them to be the most expensive for window replacement. I would probably not use them in the future.

Rich Gardner came to my house and took measurements and provided me with a quote. Work was scheduled for March 23, 2009. Grady & Steven installed the windows and doors and were very professional and protected inside of the house from damage. Grady & Steven cleaned up before they left. One window developed a stress crack in about a week - I called and a new bottom section of the window was ordered. I was told it would take about a month to get the new section, and it was about a month.

I got bids from both Pella and their primary competitor on replacing the doors. Both the bids were about the same price but my experience with the Pella sales representative was much better as he seemed to have superior knowledge of his product and showed genuine concern for the quality of the job. Additionally, another door that I needed replacing would have been custom order from Pella. The sales representative quoted me a price and admitted that other options may be more favorable. The door was a standard size for the primary competitor and the quote was about half the price. The patio doors were delivered and installed effectively and efficiently and the installers were first rate. The only problem I had with the entire experience related to using the doors with a pet door. It was understood that a pet door function would be required however it turns out that Pella doors are entirely non-compatible with pet doors. I ended up have to spending an additional $600 to install a high quality pet door through the wall. On a side note, I did order the other door from the competitor and after paying the full amount, three months later I still have not received the door.

They were very professional. They were flexible in scheduling visits. It was easy to order. They are a quality company. They have a good product. After they installed the windows, there was a walk through. He showed us how to use everything. If there is a problem, they order for replacements. They call to set a date to reinstall them. They come and fix it.

We love Pella Windows! They are great! We have a house that was built in 1951, and we had them take out some sliding glass doors. They replaced them with insulated sliding glass doors. We have been replacing windows bit by bit, and we have stuck with Pella Windows the whole time. They improve their windows as time goes on.

I initially contacted the national call center # listed on a $200 off per window sale ad I got in a newspaper. The next week I was contacted by the local sales rep, Chris Baucom, to arrange a time to initially measure out the existing windows and openings. He showed up when planned and quoted a price at that time in a professional manner. After accepting and confirming the offer with Chris, a local project manager, Paul McCracken, came out and carefully re-measured all openings to confirm the dimensions and locations of different styles and types of windows we required throughout the house. He setup an installation date at this visit which was about 8 weeks out. He called to confirm a week later that I still wanted to go with Pella windows. He called again about 10 days before installation to confirm we didn't have any last minute travel plans that would delay or cancel the installation as planned. The national call center contacted me 3 business days before the installation asking for the same confirmation. I appreciated this communication process as it made me feel they were actually going to show up as planned and get the job done. The day of the installation one of the installers called to say they were on their way. They arrived at 9am as planned and were professional throughout the installation process. The installers, Grady & Steve, explained what they were going to be doing and made sure we had things moved out of the way inside the house to allow them to remove the glass panes carefully before breaking down the window frames and pulling them toward the outside of the house. They used cardboard when leaning over a kitchen sink to replace that window and plastic placed over the inside of the window openings when sawing through the middle part of the old aluminum frames and pulling the frames up in order to minimize dust & flying debris. I didn't find any metal shards in the house after they were done. They also used cardboard over the inside of the windows to reduce dust when cleaning out the perimeter of the openings. They placed large plastic sheets over furniture and beds to keep debris off as much of the interior as possible and folded these back up when finished in such a way as to keep the debris from ending up all over the rooms. When they were done they thoroughly caulked the perimeter of the windows and made sure they were sealed properly. Throughout the installation, they showed us how to open and close both panes for cleaning as well as some tips on easily opening and closing the windows. All aluminum and glass was picked up & hauled off and an outdoor patio area was swept and vacuumed. I didn't find any glass shards in or outside the house in the days after. The way they carried out the installation I wouldn't hesitate to get them to install replacement windows in the remaining two locations in the house.

I love them. They are really great. They seal off the sound. The first thunder storm we had, we didn't realize it was raining. Whatever windows they start on they finish them that day so you don't worry about anything over night. They clean up everything. They are very prompt. They come when they are supposed to come they leave when they are supposed to leave. They are very professional.

I like the product a lot; it s a very high quality window. I plan to have six more installed in the next several weeks. I did have some mixed feelings on this job. The installers did not do a very accurate job placing the new trim around the windows on the inside of my home. There were some miss cuts and areas not lined up quite right. People from the company came out and agreed with me, so a new crew re-did it and it is fine now. I am giving them an average rating for now, but in the future I may give them a higher grade depending on the next six windows.

Absolutely fantastic company with A LOT of pride in their product and their installation. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for, their windows are high quality, guaranteed for 10 years, and their work is thorough and professional. Absolutely NO complaints about anything they did. They did make one mistake in the order, failing to order the internal blinds for one window, they corrected that mistake and did not charge us for the "extra" (previously uncharged) blind system as a means of apology for their error. Classy!
