A couple of months after the planting, I noticed that the knockouts that had supposedly been removed, were sprouting again. So, I asked them to come out and completely remove the knockouts and also take a look at the new spray roses that had been planted to ensure they weren't sick. They indicated they removed the remainder of the knockouts and that the spray roses weren't sick. Last week, I saw that the knockouts were sprouting again which meant they clearly hadn't removed them, so I reached out again to have them come out. I also indicated that the spray roses that they had planted were clearly sick and needed to be removed and replaced. The response to my email was that it would be difficult for them to remove the knockout roots because they couldn't see the root system. I agree it would have been much easier if they had done it correctly the first time when they cleared out the entire bed. To add insult to injurty, they also indicated that removing and replacing the spray roses would cost me money. I told them that I wouldn't do business with a company that would charge me for their mistake and we parted ways. I don't recommend doing business with them.

"We did a small job for [Member Name Removed] removing plants in her backyard and installing new plants for those beds. I explained to her that 100% removal of the old plants was difficult and we may not be able to get all the roots out. We did come back on a subsequent visit and were willing to do so again to remove the roses completely. The new roses were 100% healthy at time of installation. Unfortunately, these roses contracted a virus at no fault of ours or the customer. We offered to replace these roses at our cost per our plant replacement policy and she refused."

They were the best of the three landscaping companies we had used to date so I was disappointed with the sudden dissolution of the relationship. The new company was supposed to set a regular date and honor the old prices but they showed up without warning and tried to charge an additional $5 per mow. Needless to say I won't be continuing with the new service provider after this bait & switch experience.

"[Member Name Removed] was a client of ours for over 7 years for lawn mowing so this is quite shocking. [Member Name Removed] requested extra work above and beyond mowing all the time and we executed for him. We did stop all lawn mowing service this year and had our clients set up to go with another company we felt was a good fit. We sent out an mail to all of our clients explaining the situation. [Member Name Removed] emailed and asked us if he could speak with the new ompany and we provided him with the contact information to do that. We made no promises on pricing for the new company whatsoever. We didn't bait and switch him at all, we simply stopped mowing services and provided him another company to do this, it is entirely his decision to stay with that company or not."

Patrick and crew did an excellent job! My front lawn has been dead for many years due to the drought and sod that we tried did not take. Patrick's team put in sod and it's doing beautifully. They also built a new succulent garden in our front, which was surrounded by a chop block walkway which is just lovely. There was a small misunderstanding about the shape of the dry river bed but it still is very nice and serves it's purpose (carry excess water runoff during rain). His team spent a lot of time removing, cleaning/washing my existing rock bed in the back yard (several tons) and installing new barrier fabric & replacing the rock. I would advise his crew that typically the flagstone sits directly on the ground, not on top of loose rock (which could contribute to breakage). They also removed Pampas grass and replaced with a Bird of Paradise shrub. Finally, they cleaned up, trimmed, and mulched my back flower bed.

Empire Landscaping's teams do a great job all across the board. I contract for just lawn maintenance but do hire in between for flowerbed maintenance. The lawn care is consistent and Patrick and Matt are very organized. I love getting itemized monthly bills and updates on schedules from them also. I've never had to watch over the guys when they clean the beds if I asked them to be weeded. No one pulls up the bulbs or stomps on the lilies mistakenly. Love them!

Empire's install team was highly professional and diligent. A two-man crew (sometime supplemented with a 3rd team member) worked diligently on the stone boarder for 5 straight days. They dug the border to my specifications, laid in a cement base with metal cross bars and then mortared in the stone. My land sloped rather acutely, and they ensure that the stone was level all the way around. Their attention to detail was phenomenonal. We are delighted with the results.

They are great. I cannot think anything bad about them. They put up with various icky things that they find in my lawn which I am grateful for. They show up. They only take about twenty-minutes and it is a double-sided lawn. The price is really spectacular. I still have no complaints.

We had our front yard overhauled with new sod and complete replacement of old flower beds with a new border and plants. Patrick and his team gave us a quote and plan very quickly after coming out to assess our property. However, it did take 6 weeks for them to start our work and the price was higher than most. We selected Empire ultimately due to their great reviews and initial dealings with Patrick. We did end up happy with the quality of the work but wished they would've met with us to make sure our sparkler system adequately covered the work after completed as some of the sod was covering sprinkler heads which we had to remedy ourselves.

To give Patrick, Matt and the crew an "A" rating isn't enough. We are customers who expect the highest quality work and materials and that is exactly what we received. Patrick was willing to work with us to save a few of the existing plants and build his design around them. He was flexible when we wanted to tweak the job and NEVER once said "No." We waited a couple months for their calendar to clear and it was well worth it.......beyond our imaginations! Whenever we have landscaping needs again, we will definitely use Empire Landscaping.

I didn't want to have the same type of borders framing our flower beds that everyone in the neighborhood seemed to settle on. His suggestions for color were spot on. I don't have a green thumb and shared this with him and he picked out plants that need very little 'human' attention :) He was on time, prompt to get back to my emails and phone calls. OH... I almost forgot the crew... they were amazing. The job took a couple of days and they never, ever left anything unsightly anywhere in the yard (front or back). Patrick and his crew are all around amazing!!! Give him a call!!!

These guys did a fantastic job. We couldn't be any happier with the final result. We went from having an eyesore of landscaping on our street to the best curb appeal. These guys made great recommendations on plants to use based on the amount of sun/shade we get in different areas and really understood exactly what we were looking for in terms of level of maintenance and overall look. They blended in some of our existing plants to keep costs down. We got quotes from 2 other landscaping companies, and their bids and designs were nowhere close to Empire.
They outsourced the patio work, but it was absolutely amazing. Very professional crew that cleaned up everything and had it installed within 2 days.
Overall, we really couldn't be happier. These guys gave us a great product at a great price faster than we anticipated. They were upfront with their backlog but got to us sooner than promised.

Patrick is terrific to work with. He came
out to meet with us and went over what we wanted and was prompt with an
estimate. Being the spring rush we had to wait a few weeks to start but it was
well worth the wait. The outdoor kitchen is amazing and looks terrific, could
have asked for a more beautiful kitchen on my patio. The landscaping came out
great, even after I changed things more than once; Patrick was always accommodating
and professional in his customer service. The yard looks great and the
neighbors have all admired his work.

We were VERY PLEASED with both companies- Empire Landscaping and Decorative Paving Solutions.
Patrick was responsive and came when he said he would. Charlie's team was dilligent with all the work they did. One day they had to stop because of rain, so they came back on Saturday and stayed late to make up for it. When they finished, the clean-up was imnmaculate, even though they had to come back on a Monday to do it. They had quoted us the price of $6450.00 and said it would take 2 to 3 days. It turned out to be more of a job than they thought to tear out the old wall and it ended up taking almost 5 days. They still charged us the original price they had quoted.
Working with both companies was a very postive experience and we highly recommend them both. It was refreshing to deal with honest and professional men who were responsive, thorough and did what they said they would do!
We were even a few days late in paying for the wall because we were out of town when they finished. We were told that was no problem!

I had a hard time finding someone respectable to install my sod (approx. 1500 square feet), but Patrick from Empire came out at the appointed time and gave me the lowest estimate of everyone I called. I also felt the most comfortable with his recommendations and advice.
Fast forward three weeks later, Empire called and said the sod was ready. The crew showed up at the appointed time, and began tilling/mixing soil/rolling/etc. They even moved a lot of very heavy rocks to make a bed in the back. The crew also found a leak in my sprinkler system and fixed it before continuing with the installation. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my lawn and with the service provided. (1.5+ months, and my grass looks fantastic!)

They were punctual. The product is nice. We had looked at stone and brick curbing but what we bought from them cost about a quarter of what the stone and brick would. We’ve had several compliments from neighbors on the finished product. It was an overall good experience.

I called & left a message & my call was returned within minutes. Patrick said he would be out the following morning to provide an estimate, his partner, Matt, came out instead, as Patrick was under the weather. I showed Matt the retaining wall & the pavers I had already purchased & he emailed me the estimate the same day. Very reasonable price, as I received several estimates & one was three times the price. Matt let me know his crew was about a week out & he'd be in contact with me to confirm when his crew would be out as the weather was hit & miss. I received a couple separate emails from Matt letting me know what was going on. The crew made it out & installed the pavers & it looks awesome! So happy to be rid of the ugly unsightly railroad ties & so are the next door neighbors! From price to communication to quality, I can't be more pleased. Matt was even nice to recommend a great tree guy & a custom gate company. Thank you Empire, I'll be back!!

They did an outstanding job. The crew was onsite timely. They knew exactly what they needed to get done and got to work. They dug out the areas of the lawn for the driveway extension and the planter wall move. They moved all the sprinkler heads with the proper fittings and adjusted sprinkler heads for their new location. They brought in a cement truck to pour the new driveway extension and sidewalk where the planter wall had been. They finally sealed a large flagstone patio.
Empire did a great job. I would use them again for work at my home. They did not collect my payment until I had a chance to review their work and ensure I was completely satisfied with the work performed. This took a few days until the concrete was dry and I could run the sprinkler system. I asked them to come back and backfill where the new concrete was added. They did this very quickly. I came outside one morning and just noticed it was done. Patrick told me that if I was completely satisfied, then send in my payment. If not, let him know what needs to be corrected.

I highly recommend them. They were wonderful. He gave me warning that he would be late, but he did a great job. The yard looks wonderful. His estimate wasn't the lowest, but it wasn't highest. He was competitively and fairly priced. He was a very honest man. He knew what he was talking about. I had no idea what needed done with my flower beds. I gave him free reign. I love what he did. He has a way of knowing what's going to look good. His plan was beautiful. His follow-up care is very specific. He wrote everything out for me. I didn't have to worry about anything. He's professional and he's good at what he does. Punctuality is extremely rare in this field. But, Empire Landscaping was very punctual. If I called him with a question, he'd call me back in 10 minutes.

We really did a lot of research on Angie's list, spoke with lots of people on the phone and got several estimates on the work before we chose Empire Landscaping. We previously had a bad experience with another home improvement project and did not want a repeat of the stress it caused. We are so pleased to report that our research paid off and we found the company you are looking for if you need a stone or brick border put in at your house. Patrick was great and e-mailed me back very quickly after I asked him for a quote. He came out the next day with ideas for me in addition to pictures of the work his company had previously completed. It was very easy to talk to Patrick and I was extremely pleased with the estimate (including the 5% discount) he provided. We felt that he really went out of his way to explain every aspect of the job to help us feel more comfortable adding such an important feature to our home. We are so happy with the work that we are telling everyone we know to call Patrick if they need a landscaping job done. It feels so nice to have a project done right instead of done as quick or cheaply as possible. Thanks Patrick!
