I did not use them and ended up not doing any business with them. The reason I did not use them was because the estimate went from $80,000 for the project to $120,000 and then up again to $130,000 or even $140,000 over the multiple times I met with them so I just stopped talking with them. I don't think the service was necessarily bad; I think the gentleman I worked with was unknowledgeable about his field so there was a lot of confusion. I don't think they were being dishonest and unethical; I think the particular gentleman I worked with just kind of not very experienced in the field that I wanted to do.
"We met with the client on multiple occasions. We tried very hard to get him to the price that would work for him however after much discussion we determined we could not do the scope of work the client was asking for for the budget he had established. Our Sales Consultant even met him at our showroom after hours to show the client the numbers and still could not come to a resolution that worked for both parties."
"Sales representative was early to appointment and had to wait for homeowner to arrive. Meeting was short and very little detail was provided. DFW Improved sales consultant provided the homeowner information about our our scope of work includes designer services at which point all material would be selected with the designer as DFW Improved Showroom. As homeowner points out, DFW Improved was last contractor with whom project was discussed and items that may have been discussed with others earlier may not have been re-iterated at this appointment. Proposal was provided in the timeframe that DFW Improved sales consultant promised. Overall, even at appointment it seemed that homeowner had already been sold on another company as some materials had already been picked out. Response to proposal was received from homeowner with several demands to make DFW Improved proposal fit another proposal or demands that were new to the scope of work. DFW Improved Sales Consultant understood homeowner was trying to or was asked by another company to manage their own project by running around town and picking out items themselves. At that time DFW Improved Sales Consultant expressed to the homeowner the current project scope would not be a fit to what DFW Improved offers and how we have our project completed. Price is different because comparison was made with a company that is asking customer to do a lot of work, provide their own services and perhaps even provide materials and this is not a fair comparison between companies. DFW Improved is a full service General Contractor that provides full showroom support, Project Manager at Job site, full coordination of project, all materials and trades and warranty backed by a warranty manager. This is the formula that has made DFW Improved the award winning company and the largest remodeler in Texas. We wish homeowner the best of luck in managing their own project."
"We have no record of this member or their address. We would like the client/member to reach out to our company directly to discuss their experience further. We are working with Angie’s List to have the review moved to the proper profile as we feel the member is confusing our company with another contractor."
Our beautiful home developed water leaks around an upstairs window and a box seat/window directly downstairs in the breakfast area. Since the issue was only manifested by a certain kind of rain pattern, we were not able to diagnose the problem. This went on for years. Three years ago, we hired a contractor (not from Angie's List) to help us find and fix the leaks but ended up paying LOTS of money for nothing. We had thought all was well because it had rained and rained without any leaks. However, the special rain pattern did occur and we realized that the leak had not been addressed. Now what do we do? Since we had already been "burned" by the last experience, and, since we didn't have the knowledge ourselves on how to find and fix our issue, we were very cautious about selecting someone new.
We did our homework by studying Angie's List and the BBB. We narrowed our selection to (3) companies. We chose DFW Improved for (2) reasons: 1) We reviewed the BBB to see how DFW Improved resolved conflicts--we found only one such case and we were impressed how DFW took the customer's perspective and resolved the issue by exceeding expectations. 2) We sensed during his inspection process that Jason was viewing our problem as if it were his. Later we would discover that each of the (3) specialized teams sent to do the work displayed the same ownership.
Jason and his team leak tested the entire area using a water hose/ sprayer to locate the root cause of the leak(s). Next, their specialized teams corrected the construction on the outside to seal our home. They returned the next day and leak tested the entire area to verify their fix. We were with them side-by-side the entire time, not because we were skeptical, but because we had been fighting this battle for years and wanted to understand the root cause. DFW Improved seemed eager to have us right there at every step. Obviously, our confidence was soaring when we could see with our own two eyes that ALL the leak(s) had been addressed! Finally the team inside replaced the sheet rock, retextured and repainted the walls. Our home looks beautiful! Wow!
Words can't describe how important resolving this issue is to our family. But DFW Improved seemed to understand, and they gave us their very best work. Not only did we receive exemplary service, but we made some very good friends.
"When we met with the client for the initial consultation his expectations were way off from what we could produce the project he wanted. Our staff explained to him that would could not deliver the full master bath he wanted for the budget he had in mind. The homeowner & our staff member even discussed that it would be challenging to do half the bathroom for that price, but he insisted that our staff member write up the proposal for the full project. I met with him on Friday 9/26 and told him that he could expect the proposal by the middle of the following week (we emailed it over on the following Thursday). It's unfortunate the grade he gave us is based on the fact that the homeowner's expectation for a DFW Improved delivered project is skewed. We were professional & forthcoming with what we could deliver."
"We admittedly had issue when the shower was demoed in her home & rectified the situation as soon as possible. We took responsibility and preformed all repairs in a timely manner & handled up on the problem we caused. The client seemed to be under unusual amounts of stress as she was renovated this home while she was building another home in another market. We would continue to get mixed signals on her satisfaction with our work as we would leave her home with her smiling and she would literally call us minutes later upset. She would leave town last minute and be gone for weeks at a time to Florida. A huge part of the job was the timetable the client had, which was to have it done by the time her son got home from college for Thanksgiving. As we got closer to a finished product, she decided that she did not like the selections that she had made that were installed. The client would then have us tear out the new shower and replaced it with different selections. Her leave of absence and redoing the shower ultimately cost us time and money and the deadline wasn't met. We are surprised with this negative review seeing as when we closed the job out and got her final approval, she gave our project manager a hug and wrote a sweet letter of appreciation."
