Their prices are not cheap but they are comparable.
Description of Work: I have an old Integra and I have them in all the time. The fitting had fallen out of the brake pedal and the lights wouldn't go out.

After the computer testing , they said they could not find what was wrong because the readings did not stabilize! They said they will try replacing the spark plugs to see if that will help! They did not know the problem & were going to do trial & error and figure out. Also, my car was 105K miles & they give me big list of what all I have to do (timing belt, etc.) & gave me a quote of $4000! I said I will think about it & got out there fast! I have never been to a car place where they did not know what was wrong & suggesting tons of work and took $120 for doing nothing! I have never seen such frauds in my life --have been going to different car places all my life & this was the biggest con artists. Avoid this place for service at all costs! Came form Chicago neighborhood where dealer service places were much better even though they were expensive! Also, they did not replace the brake lamp & I called them & asked them if they changed the brake lamp & they said it did not come on when they worked on it & they did not replace it. The brake lamp light came on as I was driving back home from their service place!! The maintenance symbol also has come on already (less than 500 miles from the date I got the oil change done!)

The service representative along with the technician and Manager told me that my Acura was in excellent condition aside from the transmission. The rebuilt transmission they were recommending would have a 3-year, 36,000 mile warranty. Since I had been using factory-trained technicians (Acura only service department), my car was in impeccable shape minus a few "body dimples" from grocery carts, etc. The car had 135,000 miles on the odometer, but the technician told me I could drive it another good two years if I wanted to avoid purchasing a new car. They were nice enough to reduce my repair costs by 25% because of my loyalty to their brand and their service department. I will continue to use the Plano Acura dealership and service department for future needs.
Description of Work: My engine light warning was illumined; I took my 2003 Acura TL in for service. My transmission was failing and I had to make a decision of whether or not to buy a new car or get the needed repairs. The technician and service representative counseled me regarding my options.

We were greeted by a gentleman as we drove up to the door. We had our grandson with us & they helped us get his stroller out of the trunk, held the door open to the customer lounge, & directed us to a special room for children where they could play with toys or watch children's cartoons or movies. The lounge had TV, coffee, water, soft-drinks, fruits, etc. Very nice. After they had serviced our car, they brought it back in front of the lounge, helped us put the stroller back in the car & directed us to where payments are made. I highly recommend David McDavid Acura in Plano, TX.

I arrived for my service appointment this morning only to be told that my vehicle was not due an oil change yet. In fact, not even close. I only have 3,200 miles on the vehicle. I explained that I received a call from David McDavid Acura indicating that this was due. The technician informed me that it was a marketing firm they use for the service department. So they have contracted with a marketing firm to drive business to their service department without knowing if the service is actually necessary or not. I wasted my morning with this. I drove from Las Colinas to Plano for the sole purpose of using this opportunity to test out the service department at this dealership since I had no previous experience with them. I had intended to give them an F rating but after I emailed the service manager about my experience he promptly called me to apologize. That earned them a D instead of the original F that they actually earned this morning. If, and I mean if, I use their service department in the future and I have a good experience I will update this post. But today, this post stands. I was very disappointed with the service department because my car buying experience with David McDavid Acura earned an A rating.
Description of Work: I purchased a new MDX earlier in the year from David McDavid Acura. I received a call last week indicating that it was time for my first scheduled maintenance oil change. I made an appointment for this morning and drove from Las Colinas to Plano for this service. This was going to be my first experience with David McDavid Acura service department.

I called my usual service rep, Carl Dehls, who responded promptly to my request for a service appointment. From the time I walked in, I was treated like a valued customer. Took note of all the potential issues, in addition to the original reason for my visit, which was an oil and filter change. This visit, I stayed in a waiting room since the service wouldn't take long. Because it was the middle of my work day, Carl took me to a more private waiting room where I could plug in my laptop, have some water, coffee, etc....while waiting for my car repair. All in all, a quiet, peaceful, efficient experience. My car was ready sooner than promised. Carl took care of my paperwork at his work station. I paid there, signed the paperwork and I was done. Charges were exactly as promised; no unexpected problems or surprises. My car was brought around front. The dealership ran it through their car wash so it was clean...a nice extra touch. Carl is the reason why I continue to have my Acura MDX serviced with McDavid. He's the best! He is incredibly personable. Takes all the time needed to understand any issues with my car. Makes recommendations based on my best interests and my safety. He knows I drive my Acuras until they're truly "done" and he treats me each time as if my car was just purchased there. I know Acura's prices can be higher than if I had the car serviced elsewhere, but I return to Acura most times because I know the work will be done right. THe dealership backs up their work, 100-percent. Carl Dehls is a fantastic service rep, which makes the experience even more pleasant and efficient.
Description of Work: General service. Oil change, rotate tires, check filters and fluid levels, check for possible issue with transmission/shifting issues (ended up being a warranty quick fix)

It's great dealing with those guys. I had one service advisor forever and was really sad when he left, but the next guy was just as good. The quality of their work gets an A for sure.

They also diagnosed a problem with my seatbelt indicator, ordered the part and called me promptly, to advice the part was in. I then called them to make an appointment and I paid $35 for an oil change and was estimated $250 to have the part replaced, along with the labor. This is my second car and I have been using them since 1994. I will continue to use them in future.

I think they are good as far as a dealership goes. The only thing that bugs me is that they do too many surveys at the end. Someone will call me from the dealership, which is fine. Then, someone calls me from the Honda corporation. I always tell them, they do a good job now leave us and them alone. That is the only complaint I have, and that isn't David McDavid, that is the corporation. They do a good job. They get me in when I need to go in. I haven't had anything earth shattering done because it is a good car. I don't get the same service somewhere else that I do here.

My Acura RSX window stopped working few months ago. So, I took the door panel out and saw the window regulator was broken. I called them for price estimation for replacement of the window regulator and their service adviser refused to provide estimation and transferred me to the part department.

Good. We use them for all of our maintenance and repairs. They have done several safety-related repairs at no charge. Their rates for batteries, oil changes, etc. are competitive. Loaner cars are free, if needed. We've never had a repair cost more than the estimate. The waiting area is comfortable, with a separate kids room and snacks. We have our own representative, Bob Johnson, who is very responsive and honest.
Description of Work: McDavid Acura is our local service center. We had a 2001 CL with a broken battery cable. McDavid quickly replaced the cable and our battery which was 7 years old. They also did our safety and emissions inspection.
