To Whom it May Concern,
I've had several repairs/service done at this location and all have been performed without a sense of urgency and I own one of the finest BMW they make.
1st Time: I was traveling home from a business trip and had asked them to leave my car outside as I was traveling from out of town and wouldn’t make it into the dealership until after hours. That day I traveled from Chicago to Dallas and was in a plane, train, bus and two rental cars, once I hit Dallas at 9:30 at night I traveled to my house to grab my spare key. Needless to say after spending hours in the airport and traveling to the location the car wasn't left as instructed.
2nd Time: I was told that some work had been done on my car to the left from axil prior to me owning it and it needed maintenance. Given the first incident I wanted a second opinion. I brought the vehicle to the BMW in Dallas and the mechanic replace four bolts to the tune of $112.00 that was holding left front wheel in place. The mechanic told me that no one should have let you leave the shop without fixing that as it could have been life threating.
3rd Time: I ordered and installed a satellite radio for my vehicle and the work was completed without giving me the knowledge how to activate the service as you need the radio code which wasn't left anywhere in the car.
4rd Time: I order and paid for a part to the tune of $500.00, after ordering the part wrong 4 different times and acting like I was putting them out I asked for a refund and walked out to the door.
I am done with the lackluster attitude and subpar customer service.
Only problem I've had with them is the last time I had my car inspected.
The inspection sticker expired 4/2014 (numbers on the sticker were 4 and 4). On April 30th, I had them do the inspection. The new sticker should have expired April of 2015 (numbers on sticker 4 and 5), but instead they typed in the numbers backwards - making it expire May of 2014. In June, while sitting at an intersection, I got pulled over and was given a ticket because of the inspection sticker. I had never heard of this happening before, and I never noticed they reversed the numbers.
I went back to them to re-inspect and they appologized several time and offered me a full detailed cleaning. I went to court and had the ticket dismissed. The judge laughed it off and said he had never seen that before.
Looking back it's a little comical. Timing is everything.
Overall, I do like the service at Classic in Plano.
- Told to bring in at 2:00pm on a Thursday and I asked if they could look at it that day, otherwise I would bring it in the next morning. Brought it in.
- Received no news that day - except a call saying that the key was saying I needed an oil change too - so I'm guessing they didn't look at it (keys store info BMWs I believe)
- Told the next morning, Friday at 7:30 or so that the service checkup had (surprise!) found that I needed $3K+ in additional work - slow oil leak around a seal, slight grease leak, and a front end alignment. Turned down all of it as these problems were slight. NOT told of any issues with brakes or rear wiper blade
- I emailed back at 1:30 on Friday. How's my car? Was then told that the brakes were out of stock and would be ordered on MONDAY (!) - not that they'd get in, just that they'd be ordered - so were up to FOUR days for a brake job. ALSO THIS makes it clear to me that the UPSELL was the issue here. THEY made time to do work on what MORE they could charge BUT didn't even look to see if my brakes were in stock (front end).
- I told the service rep to take off the lift and make ready, I'd come get it
- Was then told the WIPER BLADE wasn't in stock either! Geez
- Went and picked it up. $400 for oil change and for them to tell me I needed $3000+ worth of MORE work.
In my opinion, this represents what they really think of a customer - a mark. STAY AWAY.
