We got Big Papa Joe's to come in to do some maintenance a repairs to our system. The service was excellent. We needed a few repairs and setup of a maintenance contract and everything was taken care of within the appointment. The technician not only completed the repairs, but provided clear explanation of the work and system.

I use them all the time. I have a maintenance contract with them. They come out every few months. It's like $100 every month and they come out every three months.

When I first called Big Papa Joe's after researching companies on the Internet, Christina in the office was very polite and helpful. We discussed my needs and wants and she scheduled a time and date for the work to be done. Technician was very professional and efficient in his work. He explained everything he was doing and was easy to talk with. He answered all my questions. He cleaned up area when he was finished.

Montgomery County requires maintenance contracts for our aerobic septic system and we were in search of a reliable provider. I  called 4 other businesses on my internet search and then surprisingly found "Big Papa Joe's", who had the added bonus of an icon for Angie's List. They are the only one that had a real person answer the phone and straight away Joe offered us some trouble-shooting ideas and possible way to save us a service call. Trying to "work-us-in" for today, but either way, I'm impressed with their prompt attention.  FYI -  It's been 3 hours already - and not a one of those other 4 companies have returned my call!

Wow where do I start. First of all the lady who answers the phone (Christina) was polite and professional.  She answered all my question and scheduled an appointment for the very next morning.  The service technician showed up on time and performed a very thorough examination.  He cleaned the filters and reset the timer.  He answered all my husband questions thoroughly and professionally.  I am very impress with this company and will recommend them to all my friends and family.  Thank you!

The trouble all began when the owner, Joe Hartman (who does this part time), drove across the yard while inspecting the jobsite for soil stability to accommodate the equipment after heavy rains, and buried his dually truck in the yard requiring a tractor to pull him out. Who drives across the yard rather than using the driveway!?!? Heavy rains!! HELLO!   I'm still smoothing that area. Then the mess left after the install.. Red clay was spread across my top soil, so 2 years later I'm still trying to cover it enough that I don't sink in clay every time I walk across the back yard after a rain shower. The contract doesn't cover what they destroy!!!! No experience at customer service is reflected in their contract. Then on to the Maintenance technician. I know when he is here, the music blaring from his truck lets me know.  I've asked on several occasions how long he has been in the business with a response of " a long time". In March the technician gave me a very bad piece of advise, which I followed since he's been in the business "a long time" and should know. The result was a failed motor. I called the office and spoke with Christine, she sent the Tech out this morning. He was argumentative, refused to listen to what I had to say and once again claimed to be in the business "a long time".  I asked if he had a new motor I could purchase. He had a rebuilt one for $285. A new one costs $250. Once again no customer service. I spoke with Christine after he left to determine how much longer my contract was, as I would not allow the disrespectful tech back on my property. Lucky for me March was my last inspection with them. There was no effort on Christine Hartman's(owner) part to try and salvage this business relationship. There again..no experience at customer service from the top to the bottom of this "establishment".

"(member name removed) was insistent that her system be put in right away, so she could rent out a trailer. Joe told her it was too wet, to which she responded she didn't care, she had to get it in, Yes, he did get stuck in her yard, because the ground was too wet(just like he told her it would be because of the rain). We installed her system, and the left over dirt for her system was spread throughout her backyard just like Darla asked us to do. The red clay was her dirt, not something that we brought in. Per our contract for installation, it states that there will be left over dirt, and that it is the homeowners responsibility to remove it. She asked us if we could spread it out for her, which we did as a courtesy to our customer. Our service technician came out to service the system we installed, and she asked us to look at another rental property on the same lot, because she was having problems with it(she also mentioned she couldn't get her regular technician for that house to come out and look at it). The technician told her how to clean a part and offered to do it for her. She insisted to do it herself to save money. A month later after she cleaned her part, it went out, She called the office and asked us to come look at it and see if something was wrong. The part that went out has a life expectancy of 4 to 6 years. Her part was almost 7 years old. She called to ask me how much to replace it and I went over pricing with her. I was nice and respectful to her at all times. (member name removed) didn't want to pay for anything or to replace the part. She wanted us to give it to her, and blamed us for the part going out. She was very rude and began shouting loudly in the phone at me. She was being difficult, but I remained calm and professional. The technician called me from her location, and I could hear her yelling and being inappropriate to him(at which time I told him to leave her property). I consulted with the County inspector who assured us the way we told her to clean her part was correct. Joe tried to call (member name removed) and speak to her and she was rude and argumentative. She has also gone to every website or listing we are on a wrote a bad review for us, in am attempt to hurt are business(and told us she was going to be doing that)."
