We were pleased with the service.  There wasn't anything major; it didn't require running any new plumbing lines.  I used Angie's List to choose from my area and they were listed in there.  There were some good comments about them from other customers as well.  I was really happy that it included a coupon if we mentioned that we had found them through Angie's List.  That helped us save on the cost and just having had a good experience with them for that purpose.  It was nice and we were very grateful for that.  They ran the plumbing from our laundry room into the kitchen area.  They checked the electrical part and connected the machine.  With a dishwasher you can either hard wire it or use a plug and plug it into an outlet.  There was an existing outlet underneath the sink so they made sure that the outlet was in good shape and if it was GFCI protected because the water was so close to it.  They were very neat, came in and out without any problems.  It was a good experience working with them.  It sounds like they did a lot of work for $300.  I do know that we were able use the coupon so that really helped.  I don't remember what the discount was on it but they happily accepted it and didn't give us any trouble about it when we mentioned it to them.  I think the price was very reasonable for the work that they did.

They were listed on Angie’s List. I was very pleased with their work. I had a problem with electrical shorts; it was an ongoing problem. I had a past diagnosis done by them, but the problem continued. I called the same serviceman back and he did a very good job of diagnosing the problem. Several electricians had tried to diagnose the problem, but they were not successful. It so happened that there was a problem with the voltage; the voltage was not to the level it was supposed to be. Initially, I paid $284, a month ago. The return service call cost me $65. Totally, I paid $320 on the service. I thought the price was high. I am happy with their service because I do not have the problem now. They were able to finally diagnose the problem. The serviceman spoke to the person from the electrical company directly, which was really helpful. I would use this company again in the future.

I have not had any problems with them. They are excellent and fast. They are efficient and they don't charge an arm and a leg. The price included parts and labor. They have been in business for a long time. One time I was desperate and needed a plumber quickly. They were the first one I called that could come quickly. I didn't know in the beginning if they would be good or not. They really helped me out of a situation and they were super nice. The owner is very hands-on. He will return calls. He watches his guys and makes sure they are trained to do the work. They do good work. I used them every time I turn around.

They came out and gave me an estimate. So far I like that everything is very professional, they offer reasonable prices, and don't pressure you to go through with anything. They also claim that everyone is certified.

The company responded to my call quickly and called the morning of the appointment.  The tech showed up within the time frame expected.  He was professional and efficient.  I think they are a bit expensive, but probably worth it if you want someone who will come when they say they will, etc.

On Wed. July 13th, I called Mike's Plumbing and Electrical to get an estimate of cost to replace a power pole.  On the 14th, Sergio Garcia, their sales manager, came out.  We spent about 15-20 minutes going over the details of the job,(taking out the old pole, digging the hole deeper, putting in a new pole, and the disconecting and reconnecting of everything attached to the pole).  He entered information on an electronic pad of some sort and gave me a price quote of $450.00.  I called my wife to check on what day we could schedule the work to be done and gave those dates to Sergio before he left.  He said he would check with his office and call me as to which day the work could be done.   About 3 hours later, Sergio returned to our facility.  I was unavailable and he spoke with my wife.  He said the office had made a mistake on the price quote and the actual price for the job we needed done would be $1475.00.  He apologized for their mistake and he offered to subtract $200.00.  We said we would get back to him.      It was actually at this point that we went to Angie's list and Joined. We looked at the other electrical companies listed, read the information and we ended up calling Hetrick & Barber, Inc.  They came out, we gave them the same information regarding the job we needed done that we had given to Mike's.  They told us they needed to go back to the office to calculate the estimate.  It took a couple of days, but they sent us a bid on July 18th for $400.00.  We scheduled the work, they came out and completed the job very satisfactorily and we paid them the $400.00.       If someone wants an electrical job done we highly recommend they call Hetrick & Barber and not Mike"s
Response from Mighty Mike's Plumbing, Electrical & HVAC

"We thank you for the opportunity that you have given us to respond to the member's comments and posting. Please be assured that anytime we deal with a customer, or potential customer, our intent is always to provide the best possible service at the most affordable price. Having said that, I must stress that when we make a conscious effort to meet all of the local, state and national codes, prices may sometimes be driven to a point where the customer may feel that they are excessive. In the case with the member, when they initially called asking for a price to straighten their electrical service pole, a price quote was worked out based on the description that was given by the customer, but upon arriving at the site and seeing that the electrical pole in question was tilted to the point of it being a safety hazard, and that the electrical panel was not up to code for various reasons, a second price quote/option was presented to the customer. The first quote was to straighten the electrical pole and position deep enough in the ground so that it would be secure, however it was explained to the customer that the electrical violations on the existing electrical installation were still a safety hazard and that we strongly recommended updating the electrical pole to meet electrical code. The second price quote submitted was to completely update the electrical service thus bringing it up to code as needed. This second price quote that was given to the customer included a new pole, a new electrical meter enclosure, new electrical panel, and new wiring to the service mast, along with the needed electrical permit and a full 1 year warranty on all parts and labor. When I arrived to speak again to the member in person he was occupied, so he sent his wife to speak to me for approximately 25 minutes. I explained to her in detail what needed to be done and why it was important to bring the electrical service into compliance with state laws and codes. As per city and county officials, as of 8-19-2011 if the work was performed by another electrical company NO permits had been request/pulled by the electrical company doing the work and therefore if the job was done as stated by the member the job may have been performed illegally according to state and local laws. These laws are ultimately set in place not only to protect the homeowner, but also, those around the home in question as well as the power company employees and the actual power grid that may be affected by improper installations and safety hazards. Many efforts were made to explain this to the member and the landlord via phone calls and e-mails. At Mikes Plumbing & Electrical, Inc. we strive to maintain a high service standard for our clients and always preform our jobs up to and above state laws and codes which involves obtaining all the proper permits when necessary, and at times means that we may loose a potential client to other companies that may not enforce these strict standards. I must also say that even though we made trips out to the customer's residence on more than one occasion, we never presented the client any bill or invoice for this time. All our service visits and estimate were at no charge whatsoever to the customer. In all, I hope that if any work was performed for the member, it was done so in a manner that is safe and legal, and is in the best interest of everyone involved, not just the electrician that made the sale in this case."

We've used Mike's prior to joining Angie's List and have always found them to be professional and efficient. I e-mailed them late on 7/7/11 through their Web site about several routine electrical repairs I needed done in my home. They responded promptly the following day and sent Josue, a journeyman electrician, who was very courteous, professional, and respectful of our home and property. He explained clearly how much our repairs would cost and that they charge based on the task to be done, rather than by time required. They do add a $35 service fee. We discussed what we wanted done, and Josue made suggestions. He worked with us to meet our needs, and we were very impressed. We've used other electricians that are less expensive, but you get what you pay for. Mike's is established, reliable, and they guarantee their work. All their repairmen are state certified.

I had a dishwasher removed and replaced. Because it was directly wired into the wall,  the Plumber called  the electrical division  to rewire and install an outlet. Total professionals.  Some plumbers  try to do everything themselves even if they aren't qualified.  These guys are men enough to explain what they can and can't do. They arrived on time, even had little booties to keep the floors clean.  They brought the proper equipment, completed the job in a timely manner, and were extremely pleasant to deal with. I will use Mike's Plumbing and Electrical for all my plumbing and electrical needs.

We realized there was a leak under the water heater and called them very late on a Saturday evening. We left a message on the voicemail and I was almost certain that they would not call back until Monday. In the meantime, our storage room where the water heater is located, was rapidly filling up with water. However, they did call back and almost immediately. They offered two services - Monday morning which would cost $200 less or Sunday. We opted for Sunday. The person who called back told me how to cut the electricity in the breaker box to avoid electrocution etc. They came on Sunday when they said they would and were finished quickly. A rep from the company called several times during the repair to make sure all was going OK and called afterwards too to follow up. Very good service. We would definitely call them again!

A ground fault interrupt outlet in the kitchen blew out, cutting all counter-level outlets. On the next morning I called for assistance, a very professional person answered and immediately dispatched a technician. The technician arrived promptly, quickly diagnosed the problem, replaced the outlet, and cleaned up all traces of having done work. In all from telephone call to complete repair was less than one hour. The cost seemed very reasonable. The technician was personable, neat, and professional.

Technician was prompt, professional, and completed the job. Because it was relatively minor, he charged only the basic service fee (mileage).

Great company. From the person answering the phone, to the technician doing the work, all are well trained and knowledgeable. I was told that I would get charged a service call fee to get to my home, which if the estimate was approved, would be applied to the work to be done, or if I wanted to wait for a technician in my area to be available, I could have them come at no charge. I wasn't to thrilled about this, which is why I rated them with a B on price. I agreed to paying the service call since I needed someone right away. When the electrician arrived, he was well dressed and groomed and looked like a trustworthy person. He saw what I needed and gave me an estimate to fix. I figured if he could work as quickly as he found the problem, it would be worth it to get it done quickly and get it done right. He immediately got the part which he had on his van and began doing the repair. He finished in about 45 minutes!!! When I saw he was fast and was very clean about his work, I asked him if he could fix some lights in my kitchen. He said he could, gave me a price and I told him to go ahead. He went to his van, got 2 balasters and 4 light bulbs and fixed them within 20 minutes. When he was done, he swept the room and picked up the trash. He gave me the bill which included the cost of the repair. Since I approved the work right away, there was no separate fee to pay for the estimate. They even take credit cards without me having to go into their office. Great company overall.

My first few jobs I had Mike's Plumbing do were OK...but as time has gone on, it seems to me the service has deteriorated and the price now seems to be out of some book they got at a seminar or something---outrageous...they quoted me $140 EACH to replace the "guts" in 3 stools. After I argued, they lowered it somewhat, but after 2 of the stools still leaked and they came back...I gave up and called someone else. Then, to add insult to injury, when I had to replace the parts they had installed only a few months earlier, it became clear that they had used inferior parts. This was the last time I called them and it WILL be the last time. The time before I had a leak in a ceiling, and they they left a real mess--Thank Goodness it was in a storage room. The really large job I had them do was almost a complete re-plumbing of an older home--moving pipes from the attic & burying in the yard. Even though I had made it clear I wanted the same size pipes---I caught them installing 1/2 inch line in the yard---I had to call the office & complain and insist on the larger pipe. They acted like I was stupid for wanting the larger pipe (I had 1 inch before) but now the two bathrooms over on that side of the house have a much lower flow than before. I would not use this company again--

It went great. I have a home warrenty and the company first sent out an other company that did nothing, stateing that they could not reach the blockage and made a hugh mess and did not clean up after them selves. I call them back and asked for Mike's. They arrived with twenty min. And had the problem fixed with in half an hour. They even had to do the work from on the roof. They cleaned up after then selves and even cleaned up the mess left by the other company.

My home warranty company first sent out another company to do the work. They not only did not do the work, but made the problem even worse. Mike's Plumbing was then sent out. When they arrived they stated, "Do not worry, we will get it all working no matter what it takes," and they did. Raymond from Mike's Plumbing not only did the work, but repaired the damage that the other company had caused. They also cleaned up completely after themselves.

Terrible. The technician stepped through the ceiling and created a huge hole that cost me $300 to fix. When I called to complain about the hole, Mike initially said he would pay for it no questions asked. This turned out to be a lie. He came by the house later that day claiming that I had made the hole. After threatening to take him to court, he promised he would pay me only $100. Two months have gone by, and he has not even paid me that. The owner is a crook. And the company is crooked. I will never do business with them again.
