Bay Area Roofers

The company was very quick to call me back and set up a time for an estimate on my roof, The service man was very professional and explained in detail what work the estimate included. I was also given estimates on any upgrades or extra services I my want. The roof replacement went very quickly and the roof looks great!

I solicited bids from two contractors from among Angie's A-listed companies in my area. Both bids were reasonably competitive (within ~ 5-6%). After reading all reviews on both companies, I selected Bay Area which was the low bid. Their bid on a cost/square basis was in line with two different surveys I had previously located on the internet that addressed roof replacement costs by areas within the US. Work was started a day later than planned, due to a heavy rain in the area which delayed the crew finishing an earlier job. Nevertheless, my job was completed in a very satisfactory and timely manner. Cleanup was thorough and prompt. After asking me if I wanted to keep any of the small amount of leftover materials, all residuals were loaded up and removed, immediately after the roofing was completed, even though it was very late in the day. Field supervision appropriately checked on job progress each day, and promptly addressed any questions raised by me or my wife. They demonstrated a genuine interest in assuring the quality of the job, and satisfying us as customers, on an onging basis. Two examples follow: First, Bay Area did a considerable amount of window trim removal and replacement around two, long shed-dormer windows to be able to install flashing of the proper height under the wood siding where it meets the shingles. The previous roofer, some twelve years earlier, had missed this, and it allowed rainwater to get under the roofing and rot the plywood sheathing. Second, they did a days worth of repainting in areas where the old drip edges were removed. We had painted the house a couple of years earlier with a very high quality paint, and boy, did it adhere well...to everything it touched. They agreed to touch it up. It actually took their painter an extra day to do the work. I offered to pay extra because it was really outside the work scope we discussed. They refused, and cheerfully commented that it was a part of making sure we were satisfied with the job. Now, I have no doubt that they reasonably covered such contingencies in their job cost. But it is obvious to me that guys with whom I dealt, (Bruce, Mike, Nathan, their painter, and the crew leader) have a good grasp on what it means to do a quality roofing job and satisfy the customer. I would heartily recommend consideration of Bay Area for your roofing work. I would certainly use them again.

AWESOME JOB! Had to put on a new roof in the completion for selling our home. We got quotes from different companies, but Bay Area was the lowest by almost $2,000. Then, in dealing with our HOA to make sure we were in full compliance, put our ability to actually get the work done very delayed. Even if this was frustrating to Bay Area - they never let it show. They responded to EVERY email I sent with a question, and I was a very pestering client. They responded the same day with one exception - one I sent after 9 at night - including one sent after 7 pm and it had to have been from the office assistant's cell phone! Kyley's attention to detail was amazing - she was the office manager/assistant to the salesman Bruce. Bruce was exceptionally patient with us and this process. Again - every phone call returned and every question answered. During the course of this process, the home inspection for selling our house was completed and there were a couple of issues found with the roof (old one). I asked them if they could address these issues, and advised I would be willing to pay a fee as it did seem like an extra service to us. Next thing I know - I had the letter in my email inbox. Our new house is newer and shouldn't need a roof for a long time - but I'm sure Bay Area will still be in business and we will need a back porch and I will be calling them!

First, when Bay Area Roofers came out to do an estimate, they were not only on time, but a bit early. Their estimator Bruce was very professional. They delivered the written estimate when promised and followed up quickly when I said I was ready to proceed. Riley performed the repairs and called me before and after the job was complete. He answered questions completely and in a timely manner. The repairs were performed right away and the payment process (I was very happy they accepted credit cards) went smoothly. In the office, Kylie was so nice and great to do business with. All in all, it was a smooth, pleasant experience. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

They were very prompt and clean. They made sure all of the nails were picked up. I was unsatisfied with part of it, and they came right back and fixed it. I would recommend them.

The employees at Bay Area Roofers were courteous and fair when they estimated the cost to replace our damaged roof. They worked with us, even though we had to delay the work so that other scheduled work could be completed on the premises. When we were ready, in a very short time, the roof was replaced, at which time we were told that we were welcome to contact them should any issues arise. The communication with Bay Area Roofing was fantastic! We highly recommend this company because of their commitment to pleasing the customer and their expertise in the field. This is a very reliable and trustworthy company.

Called to get an estimate had one completed next day. It took a few calls and an email to get the time set, may have been delayed due to holiday weekend. Came on time kept us informed during process. They needed additional materials and returned when they said they would. They seemed very professional.

Called them for an estimate on replacing the wood siding on my home with hardiplank. Bruce came to my home, as scheduled, and did the measurements. When he left he asked for my email address and said he would email the estimate to me. That was on 7/18/12 & I never received an estimate from them, so I definitely would not contact them again.

They are going to come back soon to adjust some shingles after some plumbers do some work. It should not have taken them 5 days to do the work; the estimate showed they would do it in 2 days but they extended the number of days because of rain and heat.

I requested an estimate for re-roofing and some siding work at my house late one evening, received a reply email by noon the next day for additional information, and Nathan was at my house that same evening. We discussed the work and did a walk-around, he prepared a detailed estimate and explained everything very thoroughly. He recommended that I go ahead and do some additional work I was contemplating (redecking with radiant barrier on a cathedral ceiling), which made very good sense for the additional cost involved. He was professional, honest, and overall a great guy to deal with. BAR was the second of three bids I was getting, and Nathan followed up with me diligently for updates and to answer any questions that had come up. His bid was right in line with the other 2, and had it not been for the extenuating circumstances, I would have used BAR.

They didn't show up the day of the work, and when we were finally able to reach them, they told us they were grouping all the small jobs together for the same day. Unfortunately, they didn't call and let us know. When they did schedule a day to come out and install the gutters, they were beautifully done. The color they chose was perfect, the work was superb, and they were courteous and professional. I would recommend their work, but watch out for scheduling issues.

We still are in the process of using them but so far we have been very pleased with them. They provided us with an advance quote.

I called and spoke with 2 people to get an estimate scheduled. I informed them that the home in their immediate service area was not occupied and they could go whenever their schedule allows but I needed a bid within 4 days. The response was "No Problem". One week later, I called again and spoke with the gentleman that I had spoken with the week before and he apologized for missing me but they had too much work. He promised to go out that weekend and get it done. I would have an estimate the first part of the week. That was last week. Here another week has passed. I can only guess that they are too busy but who knows. Maybe they are not in business any longer but I am not calling again. Two misses tells me all that I need to know about doing business with them. I am glad that they showed me how they really are before I gave them my roof. A company is only as good as its word and now I know what that is worth.

We had a leak in the roof over the microwave in the kitchen. They came out pronto and gave me an estimate. In a day or so they returned to do the work. Two men went up and replaced the vent cap where the leak was, then sealed all the other jacks and collars. Upon completion, another fellow arrived, went on the rook and inspected the work. Having someone inspect the work is a procedure a lot of companies need to adopt.

This was our second contract on our full roof replacement. After a bad first experience we we very happy with the response and work of Nathan and his crew. I would highly recommend Bay Area Roofers to everyone.

We needed a few areas of siding replaced on our home. We had been neglecting this job since we knew we wanted Hardie style siding and had once received a quote that blew our minds -in a bad way.-A few months back we actually began to get a hole in the siding in our front walk area. I joined Angie's list with a good deal and picked 3 of the top rated siding companies to have come out and give us estimates.Our rep from Bay Area Roofers was professional, courteous, and he listened really well. How ever we asked him to quote it he did that for us. We needed to know the entire house (except the back which was done prior), the front walk only, the sides only, and the front facing areas not including the walk way.He was even able to quote out gutters for later work.The other thing that impressed me was that he checked back in later to see if we had any more questions. Neither of the other companies did this for us.The pricing was VERY GOOD compared to the other quotes we recieved.Workers were on time and super nice. They even stayed all day to make sure the siding was finished before they left. We do plan to use this company again for more siding since we did only have the front walk done at this time.

The estimator came out in just a short time after I called. After covering the whole roof in their inspection, they discovered several problems. They explained everything they were doing so that I would know the repairs that were needed. They replaced the covering on the side of a dormer and replaced flashing in a number of places. They quoted me a fair price of $625.00, and that's the price I paid. They finished the work in good time and cleaned up all the debris on the ground around the outside of the house. I am now going to get an estimate from them to replace my rain gutters and fascia boards.

Bay Area Roofers were referred to me by a neighbor who had recently had a new roof by BAR. I saw their ad on Angie's List and based on what I had witnessed at the neighbor's home, I decided to call BAR. From the initial contact to the final payment, Bay Area Roofers were very professional and very quick to return phone calls and emails. They provided me with a very detailed estimate and explained each line item and how the work would be completed. Since this was my first time working with a roofing company to actually replace a roof, I asked lots of questions and they answered all in great detail. Although I was given a two week initial start date, the company was able to work me in within a few days. The work was completed in less than 2 days. The estimate was very reasonable and BAR even pointed me to a coupon on Angie's list to apply towards my bill. My neighbors have been raving about the look of the roof. I could not be more pleased with BAR. I would not hesitate to refer them to friends and family. Great Job BAR!!!!

They actually did what they said they were going to do. The other company did the gables and it failed, and all of it had to come down. I had to have it done by a specific time, and they came in and they got it done on time, and they did it right.

Came promptly and gave free estimate. I called them back and told them ? was ready to start. They were very nice to arrange the work around my work schedule. Looks like they did a very good job. It no longer leaks. They were all polite and very professional.

It was a positive experience. They put straps down to hold the tarp in place. After about a month, they started warping. They came back out and completely redid the job.

Their estimate was a little bit lower than some other companies that we also got estimates from. They were very accurate in their work. They were very fast. It was all done in two days. We are very satisfied with their work. We would use them again in the future.
