"Dear {Member name removed} , We do apologize for this inconvenience and delay in responding. As the office manager of Brick and Stone Master, I do take customer service seriously, however, I have contacted Angie's List several times regarding the email and phone call notifications that we are NOT receiving. We no longer have an account with Angie's List and this is partially the reason why and they do have our name in their provider list, but they fail to inform us when we have a customer message or request. I am in the process of handling this, as I thought I had fixed this 2 months ago, when we originally received this rating. For some reason, my requests have been ignored and I believe that hurts you as an Angie's List customer, as well as our reputation in the masonry community. It is hard to trust a service that is not informing businesses of there customers needs, after all, that is what the membership is supposed to do in the first place. Again, I apologize and we are not going to stop until the problem has been fixed."
The salesman was prompt, polite and knowledgeable. The man who did the actual work, Michael, was the same. The brick work is excellent and works seamlessly into the preexisting structures. I was pleased with the price, and the craftsmanship.
"Member, I am so glad you are pleased with your new mailbox! Michael is truly a master craftsman. Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We genuinely appreciate your business and value your feedback. Please keep us in mind if you should find yourself in need of other masonry projects. Enjoy your new mailbox!"
"Member, a project manager with 5 years experience, went on the initial appointment November 19, 2011. Member discussed options with the homeowner over the course of approximately one and one half hours at this appointment. Due to the scope of work requested, Member asked that I (Bill Schultheis) review the proposed work as well. I went on a second appointment and spent approximately two hours with the homeowner discussing the remodel. As Brick and Stone Master only does masonry work, I recommended a general contractor named Jeff Treibs to handle all of the framing, sheetrock, cabinets etc. The homeowner informed me that the he already had someone in mind for that portion of the job, but would call Jeff and get an estimate from him. Jeff spent many hours and had countless conversations with the homeowner discussing procedures and cost. It was explained several times that Brick and Stone Master and Jeff Treibs are two separate entities. Brick and Stone Master has a great working relationship with Jeff and holds him in the highest regard, thus my willingness to recommend him. The homeowner received the formal proposal from Brick and Stone Master on November 29, 2011. Jeff informed the homeowner that any discretion in the contract price from Brick and Stone Master should be discussed with me. All of the staff at Brick and Stone Master have spoken to the homeowner and done their best to appease him and get the answers for questions he had. I talked to Mr. Welch about a few changes on the phone. One of the major changes was that he and his wife wanted cultured stone on the North and South side of the fireplace. A revised proposal was sent on December 15,2011 and the price remained the same, however, the wording was changed in the proposal. I agreed to upgrade two of the walls to cultured stone vs. brick at no additional charge. Typically these upgrades would cost an additional $900.00. That was a huge discount I gave to a potential customer to get their business. Occasionally, I will offer discounts or payment options to cold files after a period of time has passed. Negotiating contracts and prices is what I have done for the past 28 years in the masonry business. 24 out of the 28 years in the masonry business I have been an estimator, project manager and owner. I have successfully signed approximately 5,700 contracts for masonry work to be completed and have sent out over approximately 12,000 total estimates. Any assumption of my getting offended is incorrect and way off base. In this instance, the discount was given through an upgrade at no additional charge. I was out of town from December 22nd through January 3rd. We had two project managers in the office except for Christmas and New Years day. I did not have any messages left for me to contact Member. On January 12, 2012, David, one of the project managers at Brick and Stone Master, called the homeowner to follow up. David inquired as to if the work had already been done or if they were still considering using Brick and Stone Master for the masonry portion of the remodel. The homeowner said they were still checking prices and were interested in having the work done. David was asked to call again toward the end of the month and they may have a decision made at that point. (Member filed his report one week after the follow up phone call on January 12th.) If hiring a respectful, honest, exceptional and quality company is not in a potential client's budget, then they would be advised to look at other options and not be disgruntled at the company bidding the job."
