I started calling, looking for a repair person at 9 AM. The phone was answered promptly. After hearing my problem, he said he would be out by 5 PM the same day. He called at 5:30 saying he was held up and wanted to reschedule for the next day. No one was going to be available the next day, so we moved it to Friday at 5:00 PM. He did not show up until 6:15. My mother and daughter were at the house waiting for him. He had to go back to his truck to get a screw driver to remove the ice maker, as he brought no tools into the house with him -- only his invoice pad. He did not seem to know how to get my ice maker out, and fumbled quite a bit, during which he broke a piece of plastic off of one of the cover parts in the freezer section. He did get the ice maker out, and diagnose that the motor was bad. He did not have the part with him (I had given him the model of the fridge so he could bring the part with him, and he had 3 days to order it), and asked to be paid for the trip, almost $100.00. After he left, he called and said he could not get the part, and we should try and order it ourselves. He said he would come back out and install the icemaker for us for an additional $40.00. I did order the part, from sears, which they had in stock and got to me in 2 days. I did not bother calling him to get the part installed. 1 -- I did not think he could do it without breaking somethng else, and 2-- I had already paid for a removal and re-install of a broken unit, and was not going to compount that by paying him more for something he should have done already. In addition to all of this, the repair man gave my mother the creeps. She could not put her finger on it, but she was glad to see him leave.
Description of Work: The Ice maker in my whirlpool refridgerator was out. I called and asked if he could fix it, and if he had parts for my model in stock. He told me he could, and he did.

Lux did a very good job with the refrigerator. It was not a very hard task for them to complete. I just do not know the first thing about it. I am pleased to say that Lux has very nice employees working for them. They are very respectful and show great professionalism. They do other repairs for me as well. I have always been pleased with the company, the people and the service. I have no complaints and will continue to use them for years to come.
Description of Work: I hired Lux to come to my home and repair the light inside of my refrigerator.

Lux came out here twice and the first time they came out, the repairman left the hose off the washer. He came back the second time to put it back on, but he kept arguing with me because he didn t want to fix my new washer. It was under warranty and I couldn t get them to do anything and I bought the washer through them. The laundry room flooded and they came out to clean up the water. They said they couldn t figure out what was wrong with the washer.
Description of Work: My washer was over filling with water and Lux Appliance came out because they said the hose was off, so they put the hose back on.

The technician returned my call and stopped by to give an estimate for installing a new pump in my washer. His prices were very good and he explained the work guarantee and how to maintain the washer. The repair was scheduled on the spot and the technician was well prepared. He did an excellent job, checked it thoroughly to make sure there were no other problems and he cleaned up very well.
Description of Work: The technician came around and installed a new pump to my washer. He checked it out thoroughly for any other problems, but it was fine. He cleaned up the mess and discarded the old pump.

The repairman took my call quickly and came around to give a diagnosis and estimate for repairing my washer. His prices were very reasonable, he explained his work guarantee and showed me the worn belt on the washer. He didn't have one on the truck, so he came back the next day to install the new belt. He did an excellent job, was very polite, friendly and cleaned up all the mess.
Description of Work: The appliance repairman came to my house and repaired my washer, which was making a very loud noise when it spins. The belt broke, so he put on a new belt and checked the washer thoroughly for any other problems.
