Description of Work: They did a fantastic job!! Since I have a large population of dogs and cats, they installed tile that looks like wood. Not only is the floor beautiful, it truly looks like hardwood, and cleans-up easily if a pet has an accident. All employees at Floors for Living were great, also.

Description of Work: Removed carpet in 2 rooms, two closets and down a 27" hallway. Prepared the floors prior to putting new engineered wood. Very professional and attentive to detail. Had to move some really heavy pieces of furniture but that is their advertisement, and they did it. Put everything back as it should be, cleaned up the area and hauled off carpet,etc. Very pleased with them.

Description of Work: We had three rooms and a landing done in hardwood, and a media room and guest room in carpet. The hardwood crew (Alex H) was very good, although we did have to collect garbage and debris from around the property each evening. The carpet crew was also good, but not as efficient as the hardwood crew. They forgot to put the speaker wire under the carpet until they were done, spilled a soda on the brand new carpet (good test of the stain resistance!) and then left six nails in the carpet in a doorway. I found them by ripping the underside of my foot and bleeding on the new carpet. We called our salesman who did not call us, but called the service manager. The service manager told my husband that he would be out personally the next day, with "flowers for the wife" as an apology. What happened is that a crew came unannounced the next morning and did remove the nails and glue down an errant corner of the carpet. This was to our satisfaction, the service manager did not come personally as he said. I don't care about the flower gesture, but don't make promises to someone and not follow through. We had a second installer phone that he was coming out the next day and we had to inform him someone had already been out. We have not had any followup from sales or service since, to ensure all was well. That is disappointing after what we felt was a pretty good experience until then.

I did some research and concluded that engineered wood was the way to go for the Texas climate and our concrete slab. I visited several stores and obtained five different bids. Floors for Living clearly had the most knowledgeable staff and truly appeared to want my business. I even met the owner who spent some time with me as well. They helped me make an appropriate choice of product and provided the most competitive bid. This company is professional and not sneaky or pushy in any way. I appreciated how they answered all my questions with kindness and patience (unlike other companies I had visited). It truly was a pleasure working with Floors for Living.
