Description of Work: They checked the condenser and furnace to see why the air condenser wasn't working properly. They made a minor adjustment to the condenser and washed it down thoroughly. We had neglected to do it for sometime and the unit couldn't do it's job. This isn't the first time we have used A/C Works and we have always been pleased with their work.

 + -1 moreDavid Crawley and his son are the most pleasant and best contractors we have hired since moving to Allen, TX 2 years ago. We had a 13 year old A/C compressor that worked but made terrible grinding noise ever since we bought house. 3 inspectors and 2 contractors from our home warranty company said varying things from it is ready to explode to it was overcharged. All agreed it needed to be replaced but no one explained why. We had 3 bids. First company gave long sales presentation about how wonderful their warranty and service was. Also said the plenums were not built correctly(we have 2 A/C units). We later found this was false information. Second company was going to sell us new coils but reuse the freon from old unit. We later learned that the old freon has metal filings in it that is why it is making the grinding noise. We hired A/C Works because he had the most accurate information, was reasonably priced. We were even more pleased with the work. He replaced the plastic pad with cement pad which is much quieter. The work was done in one day. They covered the carpets because they had to cut hole for new air return. Then vacuumed carpet after. They didn't charge for replacing the drip pan for the other unit, They carefully climbed around both units to tape and seal all the openings. They had never been taped as were supposed to be when installed. There was one gap large enough to put hand in. This caused cooled/heated air to be released into attic. Other gaps caused dirty hot/cold air to be pulled in from attic and left black marks around vent openings on ceiling (in addition to dirtying the inside of the unit) They worked steady, answering questions and showing me the old unit and without significant breaks. The warranty papers were filed and all information returned to us. We have had about a dozen contractors repair roof, inside remodel, pool,plumbing. None compare with the Crawley's polite, knowledgeable, and quality workmanship. He takes time to explain options to customers.
Description of Work: Replaced A/C compressor, evaporator coils, 2 drain pans. Installed new combo filter box, and added one new air return. Taped and sealed gaps in both HVAC units. Vacuum tested, charged, replaced all filters. Removed and disposed of all equipment. Filed all warranty paperwork. Cleaned area so looked as if had not ever been there.

And while he has a couple of helpers that work with him, depending on how much demand there is, owner David has always been the one heading up his crew in the field. Honest. Reliable. High quality. Great prices. Service-oriented. Home run hitter every time (hey, it's summer - you gotta go with the vernacular of summer!). I will be a customer for life. You absolutely will not go wrong with A/C Works. I know, it sounds like I ought to be on their payroll - but I simply feel this strongly about the company/owner David.
Description of Work: I have used A/C Works for several years. First time, owner David and team replaced my aging A/C unit back in 2005. Their price was the lowest, but their work certainly wasn't! They did absolutely outstanding work for us. Over the years, they continued to service that unit, meeting every need and waaaay over-delivering every time. It hasn't mattered how busy David has been, he's always gotten me scheduled and my problem fixed - occasionally showing up at an hour that made me feel guilty (but also relieved!) that he was still working. So, when we moved to a new house (new to us, but a 1980's build) 6 months ago, I called David to come look over the unit. I knew from the inspector's report during the purchasing process that there were some things wrong with the A/C unit. David and team got everything working perfectly without having to replace the (again, aging) unit. And with the summer we've had (how many consecutive 100+ degree days have we had now?!?), it's further testament to the quality of A/C Works' service.

Description of Work: David and his son replaced my main A/C unit at my house. They did a great job and it took them exactly what they told me for time to get the job completed. They did a great job on the install and made a quick trip back that evening to check something out that I wondered about on the unit. I will definitely use them when I replace the other unit at my house.

Description of Work: The upstairs felt like the AC wasn't cooling and the outside unit wasn't running. Called at 7:15pm Thursday evening and they returned the call, fixed the unit ,and was done by 8:15. I think this is the fastest AC repair we have ever had!!!!
