Mr.Hall and I have a long distance relationship as I live in Houston.Through phone calls and emails I was able to understand each procedure, the reason for it and the exact cost prior to implementation.In every instance, I felt he attempted to do only what was necessary and save me money without compromising the quality and longevity of the repair. These repairs were performed at 211 N.Sugar Rd.,Edinburg,Texas.    Mr.Hall is a very pleasant person to work with and his concern for his clients is genuine.

Like always, the only pool persons I would use in the Rio Grande Valley.  Mr. Hall is a proven expertise in his field.  Another honest Abe in my book.  I have used 3 different pool people and Mr. Hall is second to none in his work and professionalism.  If you want the job done right, this is the business to use.

Mr. Hall of Aqua Clear Pools was extremely professional in his work making sure everything worked properly.  By far the best in the Rio Grande Valley.  I would recommend his work to anyone that needs any repairs, resurfacing or remodeling to their pool or spa.  I observed Mr. Hall through the complete process and was extremely satisfied at his knowledge of the job that was needed for my pool to work properly.  I would not hesitate to call him back for further repairs on my pool or spa when needed.

Mr Hall explained all possibilities that could be wrong and told me the estimate of the next visit and the worked needed to start fixing the problems of suction to the pool.  He explained that we needed to start at the lowest level and work until the problem or leak of pressure is found.  He informed me that their was a leak in the electric valves and he will replace o-rings in the valves, replace the o-ring to the pump cap, tubing to the chlorinator and the electrical cover to the wires involving the electrical box.  Mr. Hall estimated the cost to be $320.00.  He explained to me that if the parts do not come in by November 11, 2014, he will be there to fix the problem the day after the parts arrive.  Mr Hall also said if this does not fix the problem then a coupling will have to be replace and estimated the cost at $120.00.  Finally in the worse scenario a underground line could be leaking and the estimate cost to fix it would be $675.00.   He was extremely thorough in his examination of the problem.  I would recommend for further work.

I am very pleased with the performance of Brendan Hall of Aqua Clear Pools even though there was a rough beginning due to a slow return call and a missed appointment.  However, once Brendan rescheduled the appointment he was very professional, confirming the night before and calling immediately prior to arrival. He apologized for the initial confusion and was polite during the entire time he was present working on our pool. I had originally just contacted him about the timer that had not been working.  However, Brendan assured me that it was best if he did a thorough check of the equipment while he was there. He explained why there was a leak in the line coming from the filter that allowed air to get into the line going to the pool. After taking the filter apart he showed me how the fins had worn and needed to be replaced. Additionally the valves near the base of the filter had not been installed correctly when the filter was replaced several years before and needed to be changed. Although Brendan offered to make the individual repairs he recommended that I replace the entire filter with a new one that would be warranted for a year. He indicated that it should last much longer than the last one if installed correctly. Given that the price difference was about $300.00 it seemed worth the expense to have it done properly. Although I was originally only going to have Brendan provide an estimate for the work needed, after discussing the situation I decided to go ahead and have him do the work. Even though I was not planning on spending that much money at the time I believe it was a necessary expense and Brendan was reasonable with his prices giving me options when possible. Luckily Brendan showed me how the timer had not been wired correctly and could have caused a major short. He corrected the wiring, replaced an incorrect electrical part and replaced the plumbing to the filter and schedule his employee to come by to change out the O-ring on the chlorinator. Brendan spent several hours correcting the mess that the prior pool company had created, eliminating the danger of the faulty wiring and the associated risk.  When he left the equipment room looked much better and all parts appeared to be in good working order. I now feel that it is a much safer place than it was and feel confident that the equipment is working correctly. The pool timer has been running predictably since he installed it correctly and the pool no longer gets unwanted air in the lines. Brendan did a very professional job and was polite and considerate throughout. I will recommend him to my friends who have pools.

I have been with Aqua Clear for 8 years and the service has always been "fair". I started having problems with him when I would ask if he kept records of major things done to my pool and he stated that he does not keep records just copies of recipts that are "difficult" to go through. So, the warrenty with him for items such as heaters, pool lights or any other repairs that he has done may be expired....unless you have kept every single handwritten recipt. A few months ago,he informed me that it was time to have my filters cleaned and that it is going to cost me X amont of money and swear that he had just cleaned them.... so  I started going through my pile of reciepts only to find that he had already done that in the last few months. This is a HUGE problem because he will fix your pool or any problems encountered at a top dollar rate but doesn't really keep track of it. If I had not told him, "Hey, I think that you already did that!" In which his answer was "Oh thats right!" I would be out more $$$.

The problems have only become increasingly worse because he recently installed a new pool light in my pool along with some tile work and he refused to give me the recipt of the fancy pool light so that I could keep for my records, he also gave me the "manuel" of operation for the pool light as a picture text leaving out any identifying markers of the product, which seemed suspicious. I then went underwater to obtain the specific information on the pool light and came to find out that he was charging me $200.00 more than the retail price directly from the manufacture. When I asked him for some level of transparancy with recipts (understanding that there are upcharges for obtaining the items and the labor for installation)  he flat out said that his services were like purchasing a car, you will NEVER get to know what their cost or upcharges are because it is simply not done in  HIS buisiness. He flat out refused.

Once he compared himself to a car salesman that cant give you any reassurance as far as pricing is concerned. We were done. If you are an honest individual why hide things?  I am in the medical field if a patient wishes to know how much a lab test costs or what the pricing is on something I show them. I don't have anything to hide, because my patients and I establish a relationship and a level of trust.  Which is what was broken in this instance. You might be wondering why on earth we stayed so long with this guy, well the honest truth is laziness. Too lazy to take the time and find something else, My husband and I are both professionals with kids so there is little time.
 
My bottom line is that if money is no object and you want to just trust that in good faith that he is giving you the best price possible. Brenden will do fine. However, if you are looking for transparancy and don't just want to take his word for it, I would suggest looking elswhere.


****UPDATE****
I have updated my review since the original because brenden contacted me in reguards to my review. He states that he never let my pool turn green, which I think in the equivelent in my field would be I have never killed a patient.  But the statement is true, my pool was never green but again, my issue was never with the fungal concentration in my pool. Never at any point in our meeting did he offer to reassure me with paperwork that I was being overcharged. HE stated that he "checked" to make sure that his prices were fair and he says they were. I am glad he thinks so. By the way that extra $200 for the pool light is for the exrta warrenty service that he gives you for installing the light (remember that the record keeping is hand written reciepts). He stated that had I purchased the pool light from anyone else such as online, No one in the valley would have ever installed it. I find that hard to believe.

That is a monthly service.  It cost me $130 a month. That pool cleaning company that we have used and we have used several of them locally. They take care of the service.

They have shown up every time. They will be draining my pool soon since my chemicals are not balanced and the pool has never been drained in the 6 yrs I have had it.

I was surprised that Brendan being the owner actually did most of the work himself. He  

drained and chlorine washed the complete pool and did the plumbing. He was very courteous and professional.  He explained every step he was doing.  He did an exceptional job on the plumbing and I have better water flow than I've had for years.  I would definitely recommend him for anyone looking to have their pools repaired. He also explained their weekly and monthly service plans.

It's not easy to find a pool cleaning company that you inherently trust.  These guys felt correct from the start.  The first sign was that they had a decent website.  They accept credit cards.  They drive a clean vehicle.  They have provided consistent reliable service, and leave my pool clean, not half-clean.  I'm happy.

the initial evaluation did not include all that needed to be replaced/repaired and therefore the initial cost estimate seemed very reasonable. after all the problems were addressed, we had to add about $4,500 more that we had not expected. the work was good but we spent more than what we budgeted. once you are in the middle of the job it is hard to refuse. make sure you address all the problems and possible problems, and therefore you will not be unpleasantly surprised.
we are going to try their weekly pool care service because our prior maintenance person did not do a good job informing us about the condition of our pool. we expect better weekly service and hopefully not have to make this kind of expenditures again. we will keep you all informed on their weekly work.

Pool has really never looked so 'cared for.'

Mr. Brendan took the time to explain everything and was very
knowledgeable and intelligent.
For example - he replaced a leaking faucet...that had leaked for 20+ years near the pool
filter...just because it was leaking.....now that is what you want in your pool company.

Brandon was the lowest bid. He explained everything, stayed in touch throughout the process and did extra for no charge.

Our swimming pool is to my husband as the furnace was to the dad in "a Christmas Story"...my normally callm, sweet tempered husband turned into a cranky man with a foul mouth when anything had to be done to the pool.... I love to spend time in our backyard and spend a lot of time in the pool....
Our water bill was going through the roof at over $190 a month and knew we had a leak somewhere... so, I found Aqua Clear on Angie's List... Brandon Hall came out and gave us an estimate to find and fix the leaks... and on re-plastering our sad looking pool.... the work was done quickly and with tolerance of our two 'protective' small dogs... the leaks were found and repaired on one day,then they drained the pool, sandblasted the bottom and steps, then replastered it... the guys suggested some pretty blue tiles on the steps so they would be more visible and included them at no additional charge... the pool light that wasn't working for a long time was repaired and ... VOILA'... my pool looks brand new, doesn't leak... and has been inviting me to jump in ever since Christmas...now Spring is here in South Texas, and I'm looking forward to my first "Pool Day" of the year...
Brandon was awesome, and very patient with my worried husband....and we are completely satisified with the results... Aqua Clear does our pool maintanance now, so my sweet-tempered husband doesn't have to lift a finger for anything... the water is clean and clear all the time...the mechanics are working in excellent order... all he has to do now is join me for a swim... Thanks Brandon and company...

Mr. Brendon Hall was very methodical in giving us the information we needed to have in cleaning out our pool  and then having it refilled again.  The nice thing was that he was here when he emptied the pool and refilled it to make sure all was running correctly.  He did not have someone else to do it.  That made us feel secure in knowing that  the pool was going to be taken care of properly.  We are more than pleased with the completion of that aspect of getting our pool back into useable service again.  Now we are having the regular maintenance done every two weeks on our pool and we are enjoying the swim.    We appreciate his time, expertise due to the years he has been in this business, the effort in making sure we understood what had to be done, and what the cost would be.  We highly recommend this company to anyone who needs any kind of pool service. 

It always goes very well. They take care of everything and within 30-45 minutes they are gone and I have a clean pool

Agua Clear has been our pool contractor for over a year.  Our pool is owned by our subdivision, and sees moderate to heavy use.  It's important to our owners (and their guests) that the pool always looks good, and that it's safe to use.  Branden is very knowledgeable, pleasant, and responsive.  He and his staff are capable, reliable, and continue to do an excellent job for us.  Branden's prices are reasonable.  We're completely satisified with Agua Clear, and highly recommend them.
