"Upon arrival found outside unit running but the compressor was not then checked dual capacitor it was bad. Then I replaced capacitor started system found compressor severely overheated. Informed customer I needed to cool compressor off with water and asked were the nearest water hose bib was and found out the are none within his condo so we had to bucket water from the building about 200 yards away after 45 minutes of bucketing water the compressor finally managed to cool compressor off. We restarted unit and found it low on r22 explained to customer that system was low on Freon explained we can recharge unit but we cannot guarantee how long it would last. Since there is a leak it could be a slow leak but we have no way to know or gauge how fast it is leaking so it may last a week or month but we don't know so customer decided to recharge unit. We added 5 lbs Freon washed condenser coil and system was cooling properly at that time. Then 3 days later customer called said unit was not cooling again and thinks it low on Freon again and informs me he wants to replace the system and had a quote from someone but I could not match that quote so I apologized that the repair did not work out for him and if I could match that price I would."
