Cool Kings heating and air

Told us that we need to control board with 700.00 charge. We look for the price of control board 200.00. Very not honest.

I had them out 14 months ago to address a stopped drain pipe. I was told my 20+ year old AC system should really be replaced before it went out. I bought a new system and the install went fine. Owner upsold me on an air purification system. I have horrible allergies so I went for it. That system blew out my AC fuse twice. It's been unplugged for months with the promise they were ordering a new one. I needed new air returns installed. They asked to wait for it to cool off. Of course that suddenly cost more and they didn't have the parts, etc. My electric bill actually went up with the new unit (explain that one) so I had them blow insulation in the attic. First major heat wave and all of the sudden I have water pouring down in my master closet. They didn't have the drain properly aligned with the pump (or it got bumped During the insulation) so it dropped water down the side (see Pic) for days before it finally crashed through the ceiling to over $700 worth of damage (see pic). I asked to speak to the owner and he's never called me back. Two days ago, my system suddenly stopped cooling.. in Texas... in July. The next morning they came out and turned it off so that it could thaw. They came back, charged it and told me they had to order a part but it should be OK until then. The next day it got to 92° in my house. They came that day (to their credit) and installed a new component. While doing that they scraped my wood floor... badly... and didn't tell me. I discovered it after they left. They are very nice (even if I had to point blank tell one of them to put a mask on in my house during a pandemic). And they are very responsive. But I am out to $13,000 and I have never had less confidence in my air-conditioning. And in them. Oh and my $1000 air purifier is still unplugged in the attic. "They forgot" they were suppose to order a replacement. Now they can't get one because of the pandemic. ***UPDATE***: The Owner has been in contact and has gone above and beyond trying to make it right. They sealed my duct work and replaced my internal unit and purifier at their own cost in an effort to try to improve the situation.

Provided excellent operational tips to save energy and explained things that can be done to keep systems running efficiently. We had a little mixup getting hooked up thus the B in responsiveness. However, all other work was very good responsiveness. They know their stuff!

Logistically everything went well. It was easy to contact them, schedule the appointment, the guy showed up on time and was friendly and open. He did check everything and It turned out the only problem with cooling was dirty air filters. I hadn't changed them on schedule because that size was no longer available at my local big-box hardware store. That part I appreciate. But, he added, that the switch and capacitors were about to go out and it would be a good idea to replace them soon, so I told him to go ahead and replace them now. His work was good and professional. The problem was mine, shame on me. l didn't ask first what the price to replace them was and in the end I had a $415 bill for replacing 2 parts that I took the guy's word for were going bad. The labor should have been minimal because the parts were already exposed from the diagnostic. I had a similar experience with another coupon from Angie's list for a plumber. My conclusion is, buyer beware of purchasing "diagnostic" coupons on Angie's List because the vendor is just using those to get in and charge you for additional services you may or may not need.

The only problem I had was when I initially tried to contact them, their answering machine was full and wasn't accepting any messages. The second attempt was answered, but the employee was busy and promised me a call back, which never happened. When I finally made the appt., the employee was prompt, courteous, very professional, and very thorough. I would use again.

Everyone we dealt with at Cool Kings was very friendly and helpful. The tech arrived a little later than the stated service window, but he was professional and explained/demonstrated everything he was doing. Our AC is running much smoother now!

They never contacted me and never responded to my attempts to contact them. Money paid through Paypal was automatically returned to my account after 11 days with no explanation. It would be helpful to know what the problem was. I called them and the voice mail said that there wasn't an account set up. So, I emailed them and received no response.

Service was great.  We had noticed the heater was only working downstairs and not upstairs. We figured it had something to do with the damper.  They came over quickly, diagnosed the problem and started calling about parts.  Their description of the problem was thorough and they explained it in layman's terms that we could understand.  Since we were out of town over that long holiday weekend, the timing of the parts order was perfect.  They came and installed the new switches upon our return and we've been good ever since.  Thanks, Cool Kings!

The Cool Kings team was AMAZING! This family-owned business was SUPER responsive to my email inquiry. They bid against two other large local corporations, and not only came in 30-50% less cost for comparable equipment but they only took one visit to review the premises, cover their recommendations, and bid. Both other companies took two visits---not very convenient for a homeowner who has an office job and difficulty getting home for contractors. The other companies took up to 3x as long on their inspection and bid process. All companies were able to provide financing, but Cool Kings took care of the entire application process and I had an answer within an hour. Cool Kings were able to schedule me for installation just a few days after their bid, and arrived promptly, ready to go. Not only was I super-impressed by their work ethic, I was also amazed that they swapped out two pieces of equipment in real time with their supplier---they weren't satisfied with the out-of-box quality of the equipment (dings and dents) and made it perfect! Cool Kings has also taken care of all of the warranty and rebate paperwork, and have continued to prove highly responsive after the installation. I'm looking forward to continuing to work with them during the 2x/annual warranty visits, and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking to have HVAC work or equipment installed.

My grandparents a/c unit went out this past summer so I called Cool Kings to help them out. They came out quickly, were very friendly and professional, and installed a new unit. My grandparents were extremely happy with the cost and loved that the unit was American made :) highly recommend Corey with Cool Kings!
