The call to their office was handled very professionally and all my questions answered fully before scheduling the appointment. The technician was on-time and very thorough. He too answered all of my questions and made some excellent (and cost effective) recommendations to correct some minor issues which in turn has helped the air conditioning system work more efficiently.
Advent will be returning to our home to do a check-up on our heating system in the Fall. I would definitely recommend them.
the Technician simply provided an invoice that stated the problem. I was aware of the problem as I had been
watching water exit the overflow drains for past three days .
The problem was he could not access the drains associated with the issue.
His recommendation were related to make his job easier for access to the drains. associated with the drainage.
He then advised the condensation coil in my air condition system had to be reversed for access. .I placed a call to other area contractors and was advised this type of coil could be installed in two positions and if it had been installed incorrectly it would not have not worked for 5 years. They also advised it would have been necessary for him to look at the coil to determine if was causing problems.
He left without providing service rather than the invoice copy stating above consultants would visit my premises to provide
an estimate of the cost related to problem. "Please note that it would take a third visit before any action could be taken
to resolve a simple issue."
I was told when I talked to the telephone contact for Advent Air that their trucks carried parts to resolve most problems
on the customers premises. This was the reason I called them. .They could and would resolve my issues
I feel after reading the material provided with the visit that Advent is more interested in providing contracts than services.
"(Member Name Removed) (Member Address Removed) Previous Service History: None At Advent Air Conditioning we take every positive and negative review to heart and respond accordingly. The utmost importance of our everyday field work is the safety of our clients, clients’ property and our employees. Per the conversation with the homeowner upon arrival, the complaint was a water leak that had been happening for several days and had occurred in the past as well per the conversation with the homeowner. The technician first noticed with a level that the system was not level. Systems shall be level in order to properly drain. The system may have been installed level during the inception of the installation. However, improper hanging materials were used when the system was installed. The system (furnace, evaporator coil, plenums and ductwork – approx.: 400 lbs.) was only supported with perforated duct strap. Perforated duct strap is typically used to support ductwork and small pipes that do not carry a heavy weight and typically supports are put every couple of feet for that reason. Some perforated pipe strap companies imply not to exceed the maximum recommended load of 10 lbs. on the strap. Most manufactures of coils indicate that their coils can be installed in different configurations with minor field changes, as well a recommended airflow. Evaporator coils should be installed with accessibility in mind for maintenance, cleaning and service. In this case the evaporator coil access door is on the back side of the system installation face therefore not accessible. There was no clearance around the ends of the system or over the top. For safety reasons we will not allow a technician to climb on a furnace to get to the back side, especially one that is hung with perforated strap. We made a recommendation to have the coil re-installed and re-level the entire system in the attic to insure proper drainage and operation. Unfortunately this would have incurred an additional trip by a consultant who specializes in system installations. Our apology for not being able to fix the problem in 1 trip is requested but some things are beyond our control. Your refund for the trip charge has been sent. Regards, Advent Air Conditioning"

James arrived within several minutes. He performed some diagnostics but informed me the coils were frozen and couldn't go any further. He said that he set the fan to 'on' and thermostat to 'off' defrost coils. He told me wait a couple of hours then set the thermostat to 'cold'. If I still didn't feel cold air from vent should call the dispatcher back. They are on call 24/7. He honored my Angies coupon. I asked if I would be charged another service call. He I would but that I could use another Angies coupon.
After several hours I set the thermostat to cool but still an hour later the vent were blowing cold air. I called dispatch and asked for another visit the next morning. They said they couldn't get back to me until the next early afternoon.
Tony arrived about 2:30. I showed the report from James and my Angies coupon. He performed diagnostics, cleaned my inner vents. Went outside and removed panels from outside unit. I saw how the inner coils were clogged with mud and old vines. He cleaned all mud and vines off coils and blades reassembled outside checked Freon. He then wrote up an estimate on what Freon I needed and what the cost would be ( I found this very helpful). He then filled up with Freon. He showed me the receipt and to my surprise he didn't charge me for the second diagnostic visit but just for the work he did.
I found both servicemen to be very honest and professional. I am very happy with Advent. I know I was in position that a could of be taken advantage of but wasn't. I am glad I joined Angies.

He quickly found the problem (a blown capacitor in the outside unit). He had it fixed and tested in a little over 30 minutes.
We will continue to use them for our ongoing maintenance service and needed repairs.
Their service personnel are very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. Working with their office staff is a pleasure in getting work scheduled.

I have used a number of other A/C repair services in the past and have always felt that they either put on the hard sell for something I didn't need or were just generally untrustworthy. I have never felt that from Advent. They always explain everything and don't try to push anything on you. I highly recommend Advent.

My attic door seem to close better than before. They also made appointment with city inspector and passed inspection.

"Member, Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your experience on your recent interaction with Advent Air, we value every response we encounter and respond accordingly. The diagnostic performed and measured results on May 17, 2012 indicated that the compressor would not start due to maximum current draw and a test on the winding insulation had failed. The compressor would not start and kept tripping the breaker. We simply could not get the compressor to start even trying a start kit to boost it. We felt replacement was the best option given the age and potential repair cost. Please look at our responses where we have completed work along with our rating and this will paint a better picture of Advent Air Conditioning. Respectfully, Jason Chapman Service Manager"
Advent's estimate for the job was more thorough than the other and came in around $2000 less. And Advent could have the job done the following day! WOW. Incidentally the third contractor I called for an estimate never made it to my house since he arrived while Advent was still at my house and didn't choose to wait around.
The Advent team arrived the following day and worked very hard all day until the job was completed. They were exceptionally polite and efficient. Jeff stopped by several times throughout the day. We encountered an error in my circuit breaker box with the builder having installed too small a circuit breaker for one of the units and Jeff recommended a competent electrician who was able to replace the breaker that afternoon.
In the 9 months since Advent installed the two new units and upgraded the duct work we have been so comfortable in our house. Our family room now is one of the most comfortable rooms in the house and I can stand near the fireplace and feel the cool air from the vents. Advent really changed the quality of our lives in this house during hot months. Our electric bills are significantly less than they were during similar months the previous year and the outside units are infinitely more quiet than those they replaced. Jeff came by several days after the installation to make sure we were pleased and to check that everything was in order. The work passed the City inspection with no problems. I have been recommending Advent to our neighbors who are also experiencing the end of their AC units' lives. Jeff could not have been more competent, professional, thorough or helpful. We are very pleased Advent customers.

His crew was professional and efficient, got the entire unit installed in the time promised, and cleaned up effectively. There was only one glitch with the inspection, but Adam came out that day to fix it, and the next inspection went smoothly.
We are now 10 months in, and the system is working beautifully.
I could not have asked for better service, and will use this company for all future needs, and highly recommend them to anyone else.

The AC unit going to the bedrooms coil box was leaking air and collecting moisture and over the years the mold was unbelievable and free flowing mold was blowing directly over us. Matt (Mgr) and Bobby here in Lewisville replaced molded duct work for no additional charge, and Matt gave me over 500 discount after the original discount, with 0% financing for 5 years. And what great people that work there like Carlos and Alex the installers who really take pride in there work. Heck they fit in better than some family members. lol We went from two 13 size units to 16 unit size, variable speed furnaces, ionizer unit for bedrooms in the main duct etc... Alex and Carlos made sure that the only 2 filters were easy to access, the furnaces the mounting, everything in the attic and outside was quality work and quality parts. At first I kinda had the sick feeling spending that much money but at the end I am very glad that we did it. The new units will pay for themselves over time and not that long with old 600+ electric bills in the summer. Before in the master bath you could hear both units compressors just hammering away making the meter spin even faster, now I cant even hear if it is on or off unless I look to see if the running light is on.
Advent and the Lewisville team are really the best!
