They arrived on time at 9:00 am.  I was told it would be a long one day install.  About noon one of the workers asked me if they might be able to finish the next day - that it was taking longer than they thought.  I couldn't stay home another day from work so they called in two other reinforcements and completed the job by 8:00 that night.  All workers were very professional and friendly.  The sales person also came by to check on the work - very thorough and diligent.  Would recommend them.

Advent Air was on the spot when they said they would be. The The price was fair and the serviceman seemed knowledgeable, but he was FAR TOO chatty and his conversation was political and opionated. We felt he crossed professional lines with his ongoing commentary while we waited for him to finish the payment process.

We have been Advent customers since our house was built in 2005.  They installed the HVAC system in our home when it was newly built.

Our most recent experience started with a call to the company at 5:30 pm on Friday evening.  One of our AC units had stopped working and it was 107 degrees that day.  Since they were closed for business, I left a message for their after hours emergency response.  I received a call in just a few minutes and they were out to make the repair the next morning.

That same weekend on Sunday night our other AC unit went out.  Turned out to be a part that had been replaced during a maintenance service visit the prior month.  Since the part was under warranty the repairs were made at no cost to me.  I called Advent first thing Monday morning and this was repaired the same day.

As our house and the HVAC systems are about 6 years old they are starting to need more regular maintenance.  We did sign up for a service plan with Advent and found it to be a good value.  Being on a service plan also provides priority scheduling.  With both of our emergency situations over the past few days, it is impressive how quickly Advent responded.  The service technicians (Chris & David) have both done a great job keeping our AC running.

The work involved a whole bunch of stuff like cleaning and other such things. I thought they were over-priced. Every time they came out, we had to call them to come back because they left something not working. They would kind of work on our heater and the air conditioner would not work anymore or work on our air conditioner and our heater would not work anymore. We were not happy with them. We would not use them in the future.

"Thank you for posting your comments. After reviewing the history on this account we show that additional work had been suggested but was denied. These items included replacing capacitors for the system that were failing, properly sized duct work that can cause additional failures, sealing of the duct system due to infiltration of attic air into the system and repair of drain pans and installation of emergency float switches. On the heating side of the system the upstairs system, a problem was detected on the communication between the circuit board and the ignitor itself. An adjustment was made and the system performed properly. On the downstairs system the customer stated that they knew there was a problem with that circuit board and did not want it addressed. The customer then called back and decided to have this control board taken care of. The following day a tech was dispatched and the control board on the downstairs system was replaced and the system cycled properly. Our goal at Advent is to address any issue the customer has and make proper recommendation to maximize the efficiency and longevity of the system. Sometimes its just more cost effective to replace the older systems and correct all of the issues rather to continue to make extensive repairs. This was also recommended but refused. The routine maintanence covers checking the system and cleaning depending on the program that is purchased. The maintanence program does not cover the cost of repairs. These items are always quoted separetly and at the option of the homeowner. Unfortunetly, we can only make the proper repairs when authorized by the consumer."

They did a good job. They are thorough. We used to be on a contract but they got a little pricey. They have different levels, you can go with a lower one but they are less thorough.

I spent over $15000. They were not cheap, but they were great. They have different offices and I worked with the guys in Lewisville. Their estimators come from one place and the installers come from another. They provided an engineered solution. I would use their services in the future too.

We discovered Sunday evening that our a/c was only lightly blowing air, and it was barely cooler than the house (this on a day that went well over 100). Our house had reached 83 when I called their emergency number and left a message. In less than 10 minutes, we had a call back - a service call at the house is an automatic charge, so he asked if it was all right to troubleshoot over the phone and try to save us that charge. He asked whether we had checked the filter (we had, and had replaced it just in case). He then told us the first steps he would take if he were at our house, which could mean paying him to be there to chip away ice or wait for it to thaw, or how long we could wait after turning it off to allow it to unfreeze, if that were the problem. He specified the scenarios that might occur when we turned it back on after a few hours, and told us what the best next step would be in each case - and at no time did I have the impression he was reluctant to make a house call - he was not rushing us on the phone, either - and all of this was free. We had a moderate back up to keep the house in the low 80's, and we were able to do the first troubleshooting ourselves, so that when I called Monday morning to let them know our situation (and didn't have to pay for an emergency after hours visit), the technician who later arrived was informed on our status and was able to move forward from where we had left off. Additionally, when I called right as they opened I was told the morning schedule was filled but someone would be at our house in the early afternoon. I was welcome to call back at any time, and she would update me on expected arrival time at our house, based on the progress they had made on earlier appointments. About half past noon, I had a call from them that the technician was on his way - I didn't ask from where - and he arrived about 1:15pm, well within the original timeline. He was very professional with a calm friendly demeanor, and went straight to work after verbally confirming what we had already done. He had it fully functional within twenty minutes - we paid for the service call ($120) and the part ($95). He then sat down with my husband and answered his numerous questions for about another twenty minutes regarding how to be prepared for the same issue in future and where we could purchase that part (for less!) ourselves, to store in the furnace closet - if there is one on hand when they arrive, they can use it for the repair and not charge for the part. We received similarly outstanding service last year - entirely over the phone on a weekend, and we were able to fix it ourselves because the emergency tech on the phone asked if we'd be willing to pick up a $.50 item at a Pep Boys in the area. Less than an hour after my initial phone call to them, our a/c was running again, and we hadn't spent a penny more than the trip down the block to pick up the less than $1 part. I cannot praise them enough - their website says service is their highest priority, and that has absolutely been my experience with two totally separate issues over a year apart. Every person I spoke to - the emergency call responder, the receptionist/appointment scheduler, and the daytime service technician - demonstrated fantastic courtesy and professionalism.

Bobby was the person I was dealing with before the install. He performed all of the load calculations and explained everything to me. He was clearly very knowledgeable. He even had the installers widen my ducts at the output of the heat pump in order to provide better flow (for free). The installers were on time, took care of business, and cleaned up everything afterwards. Bobby did a follow-up inspection to make sure everything got installed correctly. Overall, they were lower than most of the estimates I got, and worked with me to setup the install such that I could get the appliance tax rebate. I would highly recommend them.

They showed right on time @ 7 am in the morning to remove the old unit and the placed a new pad cause the new unit was bigger than the current one, they were performing the installation all day, up in the attic and outside during a 90+ day the completed around 7pm and I?m please to say my electric bill is much better before I had $200+ electric bills now it?s rare that I get above 110. I?m very pleased and I have not has any service issues with them either.

The Advent A/C people knew what to do with my problem, which was how to adequately A/C a room over the garage, that has been an A/C problem for a number of years. They installed the new ''Slim Jim'' system in one day. They were pleasant, competent, did the work well, cleaned up the area, both in and out of the house. They went over the instruction on how to use the system in detail.
