They tried to tell me I couldn't cancel when the service wasn't needed.
Just overall not a good experience .
"Member, I am sorry that you were not satisfied with our service. According to our notes, the first time you called to request to cancel the service was on November 16, 2012. At that time, you mentioned that the termites we treated were gone and you no longer needed the service. In our records we have a copy of the agreement you signed which clearly shows that it is a one-year agreement. At the time of that call, we reminded you that you had more time left on your agreement and you responded that your would think about keeping it. On January 18, 2013, with one service left on the agreement, you sent in another email requesting that we cancel the agreement again because you did not need it. When we called you on the same day you requested that we cancel it and we did so due to extenuating circumstances that you mentioned even though you still had one service left on the agreement. As to the notice, I have records that show that we emailed you to let you know when we were coming to inspect the home, but since this particular service is an outside only service, we do not confirm those appointments. When we arrived, we checked all of the monitoring stations that were available. This occured two times, as the third monitoring service was due in January, but did not occur to accomodate your request of cancellation. In addition, on the invoices that we send, it clearly stated that if you need additional service, all you need to do is ask and we would return to inspect either the stations we were not able to gain access to, or the inside of the home at no additional charge. Per your own comments, the service that we provided stopped the termite invasion in your home and your requests of cancellation never mentioned any lack or satisfaction with our service, merely that you felt that since the termites were stopped, you did not need the service any longer. With this type of service, we do require a one year agreement, which you signed and agreed to. We do this because of the nature of termite invasion and damage they can do to your home. When we first came to the house, we treated the problem and installed monitoring devices to inspect. I am very glad that we did the job that you hired us to do in the beginning and that the termites that were invading your home were stopped. Please know that if you ever need service again, for this issue or any other pest problem, we would love to service your home again. Thank you. Dennis Jenkins President"
The rep. and his assistant were great and did enough work that I felt the price was fine. No more critters, so my wife is happy.
About 1 year later my tenant indicated that they would like me to
discontinue the service. I contacted the firm and they refused to
cancel the service, stating that their agreement was automatically
renewed at the end of the original term for another year and that I
could only cancel the service at the end of the 2nd term. I wrote them a
letter in September 2012 and in November received another billing for
service. I then contacted them by certified mail and to date have had
no response.
I do not recommend this vendor due to their unethical business practices.
The assumption, as is usual with these kind of things, was that I was going to sign a contract to pay for a certain number of visits to control pests around the perimeter of our home. The cost came to $250 which shocked me a bit at first, especially since no choice of what to do and costs associated was relayted to me, the bill was just expected to be paid at the completion of the job. I protested and the technician said I would be able to push the services back a quarter one or two times to spread out the cost. He also said the price would be even higher (~$350) if I just paid for the single visit. With the knowledge that I could push services back and not shell out $500+ over 12 months, I was ok with the contract.
I just today called to have the next scheduled service pushed out and was told this was not possible beyond the month in which the service was scheduled. In other words, I was not told the truth by the technician.
Service options and costs should be shown upon arrival before the technicians run around the house spraying and dusting, so that there are no surprises. If this was done, surprises are avoided and services up to a reasonable cost can be purchased.
Be careful with ABC, their prices and their "contracts" and with any other services that offers "contracts."
$180 initial visit then $100 every 3 months afterwards
No charge service call backs in-between quarterly service calls
We scheduled the initial service for a few days out. I had to call and reschedule the appointment and the lady who helped me was kind and courteous. She offered to reschedule or cancel and have Jason follow up with me.
I rescheduled for a Saturday afternoon visit between 1PM and 3PM. Richard arrived early during the window. Richard was very friendly and personable. He took time to explain his service and took a look at a problem area with Ants. He taught me about the type of ant I was seeing and why they were in that area. Turns out they like the aphids on the crepe myrtel outside our window.
Richard agreed to treat our upstairs first to accomodate our kiddies' nap time. He treated the whole indoor and then moved to the outside of the home. He wrapped up his service and then took a moment to chat with me again, giving me a heads up on other services but never pressuring me to buy. We shook hands and the last thing he said was... "I was careful not to treat anywhere little fingers or wet noses can get to - the home is safe". That reminder that he was taking my family into consideration felt good.
We look forward to ABC future visits. So far so good!

The tech walked around the house with a flashlight looking for cracks/crevices and treated each one with a chemical. He was extremely thorough. He even found and treated an ant pile in my front flower bed and knocked down a wasp nest in a high back corner of my 2 story home. The job was very good and thorough.
I used a coupon for the service that I printed off the website for the initial service. The coupon was $50 off. A friend was at my home at the time of service and I told her about ABC company and suggested she use them for her service since she didn't have a company. I asked the tech for a card and he handed me a door hanger with the ABS's contact info and a $75 off coupon for intial service for me to give to my guest. I felt shafted in that I was only able to use a $50 off coupon. My point is this...don't have 2 sets of coupons; have one. In my case, I felt shafted since I was the one doing the referring and only got $50 off for initial service. I couldn't change to the other coupon since when I made the appt, I told them I had a $50 off coupon. Now my friend gets to take advantage of the higher discount. Yes, I get some credit if I refer my friend and she uses the service but I'm still shafted with the initial coupon.
Also, from a price perspective, the $120 a month for quarterly service is higher than most other providers however the service is good. I will re-evaluate after this year's agmt is over on whether or not I will continue the service because of the price. I will check around to see if I can get a cheaper quote that is around $100 or less with great service. All in all, great service, technician was VERY nice and professional however the cost is high than most.
