Good contractors are hard to find in Austin, but Josh and his team at Affordable Asphalt Paving stand out as the most professional and friendly people who’ve done work on my house. I needed some bobcat work and a new driveway installed. After posting a note on HomeAdvisor, Josh quickly gave me a phone call and we arranged for him to come by and assess my property and the work I needed. Josh took the time to tell me about various driveway options (road base, chip and seal, decomposed granite and more). He took measurements and put several quotes together for different options. He was also able to share photos of other projects he’d recently completed. The whole time, Josh was never pushy and never gave me the sense I was being “sold to.” Besides Affordable Asphalt Paving, I got three other quotes to do the same work. Josh’s price was among the most competitive, and he seemed to be the most knowledgeable and responsive. When it came to the day for Josh to put in my driveway, his full crew showed up on time, with all the equipment they needed. They began work right away. Every man on the team seemed to know the plan and they worked quickly and efficiently. The team asked questions as they worked to make sure they understood how I wanted the work done. The end result was exactly what I had asked for, and I am very happy with how it turned out. They even completed the job earlier than I’d expected. After the recent heavy rains, my gravel drive was rutted and washed out. Josh spent the time to explain my options and discussed the pros and cons of different solutions. Then he quoted a great price, showed up as scheduled and did a beautiful job laying a chip and seal drive. It looks great! Josh used some of the excess crushed granite from the original drive to build a parking pad at the head of the driveway at no additional expense, saving me the fee to haul it away. He even took the time to added some of the excess granite to a neighbor's drive (they had suffered from the rain as well) and packed it down. You just don't see that kind of goodwill much any more. I have used Josh before and will definitely use him again. I strongly recommend him.

Great contractor. Josh showed up on time for a free site visit, listened to our concerns then provided reasonable estimates for two options. The very next day he showed up and went right to work. My driveway looks great. Josh was courteous and professional. I would hire him back in an instant.

Chip and tar on my driveway. They did it fast but overpriced. Rock is only 25$ a yard and tar isn't much more so the $1900 I was charged is a little much. I'm looking to have them back to recoat it for no charge,I'm confident.

I and several neighbors just had our driveways re-done. We all had different issues, but Jimmy "Josh" Harrison made sure we each got what we needed at a great price -- and btw, none of us got asphalt, despite the name. He was able to do a great tar & chip overlay on my old broken up asphalt which should last for many years and was less expensive. Josh is a real pleasure to work with, as is his assistant Anthony.
