The washer wouldn't go into the spin cycle. I checked Angie's List and called Andre Appliance mid-morning to schedule an appointment, and was told that the technician would give me a call that afternoon 30 minutes before he would arrive. Gary called as promised and arrived about 4:30pm. He was very personable. He described everything he was doing, showing me how to access the controls and the lid switch. Besides replacing the lid switch he oiled the motor bearings and checked the motor coupler among other things.

I had a recall on my Maytag dishwasher and it was not working properly. I called Andre's and they came out and checked it out. They said they couldn't install the recall part without charging me and that I needed a new timer for $200. I called Maytag and they told me I needed a Certified Maytag repairman to install the recall part at no charge and recommended I have that company do all the work. I paid Andre's a $42 service charge for coming out. I had another company come out (Maytag certified). They installed the recall part and told me I did not need a new timer. They jiggled a little circular thing in the front left-hand corner of the dishwasher. He said that it sometimes get stuck. He said timers in dishwashers seldom go out. It has worked perfectly ever since and there was no charge for any of his services.

"Dear Member, Your service ticket notes that the trouble reported is "no water to dishwasher". Our service technician went out and found that you were not getting power to your water valve, thus no water would be able to get into your dishwasher. I also have noted that no repair were performed. We work and service all brand appliances however we do not do any warranty work for Maytag. Our technician was honest and advised you to contact Maytag directly on any recall issue. Maytag would not have covered the repairs if we did them for you. They have strict rules and only allow warranty servicers to install their parts under warranty. We are very capable and knowledgeable on your repair. Our technician did not want you to void your warranty. Please let us know if we can be of service to you again. We value you as our customer and would like to provide you with honest service again. A real person answered my phone call and made an service appointment for that day. The Service Technician arrived several hours early, but that was fine with me. The technician had to dismantle part of the dishwasher to remove all of the glass shards but got it done.

I just do not feel comfortable with how this whole thing went down. It seems like a conflict of interest to me that he couldn't repair the dryer and then talked me into buying one from him. The dryer didn't even get delivered on time and when it did, he wanted $100 dollars more than he had quoted, I told him to take it away and he came down in his price again. He even charged me for the service call after all of this. The whole thing reeks of a conflict of interests to me, but who knows.

"Dear Member, Your service ticket states that Andre checked your washer and found it needed a new timer. We ordered the timer and installed it. Upon installation, your washer continued to be unresponsive. Andre concluded that the motor on your washer had burned out. He told you honestly that it would not be wise to invest anymore money into your current machine. He returned the timer at no cost to you and charged only a service call. We sell new and used appliance. We had a new dryer that retailed for $299.99. Had you continued your repair, the cost of repair would have exceeded that amount. Andre delivered a new dryer to you for only $299.99. He did not charge tax nor a delivery fee. You paid only $299.99. By no means was Andre trying to cheat you or pull a fast one on you. We simply went to your home, could have repaired your washer for more that it was worth, but offered you a new washer for less than the estimated repair. From the beginning Andre was honest with you and tried to offer you the best service and price on a new or used washer. I hope we can be of service to you again in the future. We have a large selection of new and used appliances, all priced competitively. I sincerely know you would have not been able to find a washer as the one you purchased for less than $299 with free delivery and no tax. Let us know if we can assist you again."

They were on time with their scheduled appointment and the estimate for the parts were what they had quoted us. The costs for the parts were explained and we were given advice on how long the appliances should last. The service person was really nice.

I called Andre and he returned my call in thirty minutes and came by to give an estimate to repair my refrigerator. His prices were very reasonable and he explained why the refrigerator wasn't cooling. The repair was scheduled right away and Andre showed up on time. He diagnosed the problem and came back two days later to repair it. He did an excellent job, cleaned up any mess and was very polite.

THE REPAIR WAS MADE THE DAY THAT I CALLED FOR SERVICE. THE SERVICE MAN WAS TO CALL BETWEEN 1-5 PM. HE CALLED ABOUT 20 MINUTES BEFORE HE ARRIVED. HE WAS POLITE AND EFFICIENT. BESIDES REPAIRING THE DRAIN, HE ALSO FIXED A CONNECTION THAT COULD HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM IN THE FUTURE.
