Excellent service from bid to job; very knowledgable staff, prompt response, company co-owner on site for job.

The job done was for my mom and dad.  They are very pleased with the work that was done.  They said that the workers were on time, very professional and did a great job.  
To add to this review.  Abacus repaired my foundation back in spring of 2007.  They put in around 36 pilings.  They did a great job!!! They were so great to work with.  And 7 1/2 years later everything is still great.  I have called them out a couple of times over the years just to check everything out.  They come right out and measure everything, no questions asked.  Richard Childers, the owner is such a nice and honest person.  I am happy to recommend Abacus to anyone.

It went very well, they came on a monday morning, and by tuesday afternoon they were done. Very fast work and happy with it.

It was a good deal of 45$ to have my foundation inspected which was repaired 7 years ago. Blake was on time, explaining the process in detail and making many measurements with his device. He sketched an isohiptical graph swhoing the elevation differences. What i liked was that they are a repair company but he never pushed or even suggested for a new repair although there was difference of 1"/10ft. He suggested that i send him the post-repair data and he will then analyze and complete his report.

We had six or seven contractors come and give me estimates on repairing my foundation. Each estimate was different on the cost, number of piers and type of work  needed . After comparing estimates and reviewing other reviews, we went with Abacus to repair our foundation. Though not the cheapest, we decided on Abacus because salesman, Blake Childers,  was very efficient in his explanation of the work he recommended, the way he explained how they were going to do the work and a general overview of the whole job.
Crew arrived on time and on the stated start date and began work.  Blake showed up to answer any questions I might have. Crew went right to work. Because of the amount of piers the work took about a day and a half.
At cleanup, the crew put everything back like it was before they started. We did loose a couple of bushes but knew that might be probable because of the work.
Overall, we are well satisfied with the work Abacus did. I would and have recommended them to others.

We could not have been more pleased with the service from Abacus. We recently bought our house and had three different opinions as to the foundation from various people. We decided it would be best to hire a third party company to make the evaluation as to the foundation to ensure we knew what problems, if any, to address. They provided detailed information for our review along with their recommendation. They confirmed that our foundation was fine and there was no evidence to support taking any further action at this time.

I called last week to schedule a quote for leveling my pier and beam house. Today the inspector was scheduled to arrive at 1pm. It's now 2:35pm. No one showed up or bothered to call.
If Abacus Foundation can't complete something as simple as an appointment, I'd be terrified to have them fixing my foundation. If you value your time, don't bother getting a quote from them, they won't show up.

No work performed

The process took 2 days. Workers and team manager were informative, prompt friendly and efficient in digging holes necessary and the subsequent "lift" of my foundation. To be honest, this is a horrific experience to see so much dirt upturned near your home, but after all was over, it was  cleaned up very efficiently, with extra dirt placed strategically around the yard. I understood a little better why the cost was so high as I watched the work. Plumbing check after lift found no break in inside plumbing, but the curbside drain tubes were found to be broken and needed replacing. Dig for that work was done on day 2 of job; plumber arrived next a.m. to replace the drain tubes and Abacus once again redistributed dirt properly and neatly. I have no complaints about this company; I was impressed with them. I only wish I had known that the lift would require further work inside to repair cracks in walls and outside to repair cracks in bricks. It was my own lack of knowledge and experience with foundation work that created this lack of understanding of the full scope of this type work. But it has proven to be a very expensive ordeal adding in the cost of the work that must still be done (recommended to wait four weeks).

Punctual.  Took measurements inside and outside home.  Emailed an estimate to me.  I decided not to do the work at this time.

We called to set up an initial appointment and they fit us in in 2 weeks. When I called Olshan it took them 6 weeks to respond. Blake came to our home and informed us on all of the options for our home. He was professional and polite. He answered all of our questions in full detail. My husband and I felt like foundation experts after he left. He offered us the most competitive price among the 3 companies we had come out (including Olshan that quoted us $9K for the same work). They repair day came and all went well. Only 2 issue where left undone. The excess dirt was placed in the wrong spot and the outside lite switch was broken. They came and moved the dirt to the right spot and Blake came out personally to fix the light switch. He could have said that he was not liable because we had no proof it was the work crew's fault. That was never even brought up and he assumed full responsibility and fixed it. We are happy with Blake and the folks at Abacus. I will recommend them in the future.

Blake was great and thorough and you can tell that he loves what he does. And he had a report and estimate in a timely manner.

The young man told me someone would contact me but no one did.

I saw some separation in my expansion joints and was concerned that our foundation had some movement.  I called this company and one other to come out and check it.  The other company said that I needed to have $3500.00 worth of work done.
Abacus said that our foundation is good and there is no sign of movement severe enough to warrant any foundation work.  The lot our house is on is a "cut and fill lot" and I just need to keep an eye on the side that slopes downhill for any problems in the future,
and keep our watering practices consistent.
He recommended that I refill the expansion joints.
It was so refreshing to find someone in business who is honest and not out to make a buck whether the work is needed or not.

After calling out 5 foundation companies last summer, basically learning from them what foundation companies do to detect problems, I was more informed about what was going on, but overwhelmed with "now what do we do"?  I couldn't deal with this huge project while teaching school, so I had to wait til this summer.  I called out 2 companies this summer, and one of them was Abacus!!  Thank goodness I found them on Angie's List after my son kept prodding me to call Angie!!! 
    Chris came to do the measuring and gave the bid; he was prompt each time he arrived.  He patiently and clearly explained to me every step, so I fully understood what Abacus would do.   Chris never used a sales pitch!! 
    My husband and I were very pleased with the bid, and Chris said Abacus could start work the next week after the utilities were marked around the house, and the independent engineer came to give the final OK concurring with Chris's elevation measurements.  SO, the next Wednesday morning three foremen arrived with about 15 guys who dug, and dug, and dug holes deep enough they could stand in, moving plants away from  the house, sawing into concrete, pumping water into the ground, and then began installing the 35 piers!  What a process!!  Those guys worked SO hard!!  Sheer brute strength!  The next morning they all arrived early to dig some more, and install more pilings!  Emilio, the head foreman was very clear explaining what would happen next as the process continued!  I was asked to be here during the leveling as Emilio counted in Spanish, and the guys slowly and simultaneously lifted the foundation.
    I won't lie......it was nerve-wracking hearing my house crack and pop!  But, Chris, Richard the owner, and Emilio all prepared me as much as I could be prepared about the process!    
    Each day after they all worked hard, the workers all cleaned up their mess for the day, strewed "caution tape" across the yard for safety's sake.  Then on the third and last day, they left my yard completely clean and put back-together!!    
    All the foundation companies who came out indicated we had a water leak under our slab!  I showed Chris the exorbitant bid from the plumber; he immediately said he would share that information with Richard, the owner!  Richard is helping me work with the insurance company to try to get some help paying some of the cost!  He wrote a wonderful letter citing that damages from the water leak had caused the foundation problems.    
      I said when I signed the contract, "I hope I'm as happy with this company at the end of this process as I am today."  And I am!!!  Abacus is an Honest Company with honest, good people doing the work!!!  We are not easily impressed; we are skeptical!  Abacus and Angie's List have helped restore our faith that there are people out there who can be trusted!!  I have been bragging to all I know about Abacus and Angie's List!!  We're grateful for their hard work, their honesty, and our Foundation is fixed!!  After all the research I did, I'm so happy I can say that I feel I chose the right people to do the work!!  Thank you, Abacus, and Thank you, Angie's List!!

They called their plumber. The plumber found that it was an easy repair and quickly fixed the problem. He said it was a faulty faucet causing the water to drain back into the house and settle in one area.  He installed a new pipe but the pipe started to leak. He returned the next day to install the correct pipe. The price was very reasonable compared to another company who wanted to charge me to install pillars and not resolve the issue. They were on time, professional, and courteous. They seemed concerned about my problems and how I felt about it. They explained everything clearly. They did not mind that they would no get much money from the job. They had integrity and did not gouge me. I can not say enough good things about their service. They spent their time and did not charge me for the initial estimate.

We put it on hold for the time being to see what may happen as far as the situation correcting itself. It seems to be taking care of itself so we haven't used their services so far. They were very easy to work with. He was a very friendly gentleman. The experience was very nice. It was a very good proposal. They were on time and very pleasant to work with. I was very impressed with them.

I have found 3 diagonal cracks around 2 of my doors and suspect foundation issues.   I have purchase the house a couple of years ago and the prior owner did not have the paper work of the prior foundation repair.
Richard (owner) came out within a couple of hours of my calls.   He provided detail elevation drawing of my  house and located the prior foundation repair piers.  He took time to explain my prior repair as well as my current foundation issues.
He was very through and took times to explain everything.  He suspect that my foundation issue were related to potential slab/water/sewer leak.  He recommended slab water/sewer test and leak detection as next steps before any foundation work.  
I will be following his advice to get a leak specialized to assess & repair before any major foundation work.  

They did a great job. We haven't had any trouble since the project, everything has been just fine.
