THE worst company I have ever used. Walked out to check on plumber only to find him urinating ON my house! Spoke to owner who did not have to much of a problem with that. A/C side wanted to replace entire system. Plumbing side wanted to rerun the entire gas line from the meter to the house - only the riser need to be replaced. They were contracted to do A/C side before plumbing issue. When I complained owner had a tantrum and decided to walk away from both A/C and Plumbing jobs! Did me a favor - 2 other A/C companies agreed that I only needed to replace parts not entire unit. Saved $$$$$ by not using them. I had called Atmos out when I smelled the gas leak. They shut off the gas and showed me where the pipe was damaged - where it came out of the ground and had been damaged by 40 years of being hit by a weed whacker. New plumber came with a piece of pipe the exact length and shape needed - because it is a standard repair. Since permits were pulled work had to be inspected. Since work passed city inspection that in itself shows the entire line did not need to be replaced. Daniels Air also would not release the permits they had pulled and tried to prevent another contractor from pulling permits for the work.

Our A/C went out and we called Daniels for repair. The tech came, ran a test and indicated he needed to order a part. So, we ended up waiting until Monday for the part to arrive (they apparently have not heard about over nite delivery). The tech (a different tech) arrived late in the afternoon on Monday, installed the new part, ruptured my freon line, the freon leaked out and in soldering the repair he caused further damage dripping silver solder into the unit. Then he under filled the freon, replaced another part with a part that he had to jury rig to install, then he packed up and left indicating that they needed to send a more senior tech that had experience with my unit. So no A/C again. I called and told them I never want to see them again. Found a new authorized Trane repair company and I will never use or recommend Daniels to anyone.

FANTASTIC!!!  Called them this morning and they had someone out here within an hour.  (It's Texas, and we're having 100+ weather all week long right now.)  Other companies I called were quoting me a week before they could come out.  Jacob was amazing and fixed everything within 30 minutes.  He didn't try to 'upsell me' on anything else and I felt like I could really trust him.

I used Daniels Air Inc. a year ago who the upstairs unit had to be completely replaced.  They were referred by my next door neighbors and I was impressed then, too.

They are the ONLY COMPANY I will call in the future for heating/air condition and/or plumbing work!

I do not usually choose to have an a/c checkup. But my three a/c units are almost 14 years old and I thought I should have them checked out. I called Daniels and spoke to Kim who was friendly and efficient. She gave me the choice of several days and I chose one that met my schedule. I was given the usual choice of morning or afternoon with a phone call from the technician 30 minutes prior.

The technician, Everett (sp?), called 1 hour out and showed up around the time he said he would be there. (I think Daniels might have sent Everett to the house a couple of years ago. If it was the same guy, he did good work for me the last time and I was happy to see him again.) When he came in the house, I noticed that Everett put paper shoe covers over his shoes. It's a small thing, but it's an indication of how the person and the company treat their customers.

Everett checked the inside units first. I could hear him up in the attic making a lot of noise. But when he finished, he said they were all in good shape. Then he checked the outside units and also said they were OK. Everett asked me how old the units were and when I told him, he was surprised they were in as good condition as they were. It sounds pretty normal and uneventful, but for a/c units that are as old as mine, it is an opportunity for a less trustworthy company/person to invent something to be wrong with a system that, as old as it is, should have something wrong with it.

One interesting note: Before Everett left, I noticed one of the units was continuously running and the display on the thermostat was blank. I was upstairs and he was already in the house and on his way up. I mentioned what I saw and he said he had done something by mistake and thought he had blown a fuse in the inside unit. He said he was on his way to replacing the fuse. I figured he would fix the problem and be done. But replacing the fuse that was, in fact, blown did not fix the problem. Everett determined that his mistake had not only blown the fuse, but also ruined the thermostat. This was a simple, Honeywell, non-programmable thermostat that was installed when the house was built. Everett replaced that thermostat with a new Honeywell TH6220D thermostat, about a $75 thermostat, for no charge. Again, most people would agree that this should be expected. But Angies's list and other web sites are probably full of stories where a situation like this has gone another way.

Finally, I left the "Price" ranking in this review as N/A because I have not had the opportunity to compare Daniels prices with other companies. The two reasons I use Daniels is because they have provided good service in the past and their office is just a couple miles down the road from where I live. If I need to talk to them face-to-face, good or bad, I know where to find them.

The worker took four hours to replace a water pipe in the front yard. He did not have the parts required (standard residential parts) and left for over an hour, even though Home Depot was 10 minutes away. He spent much of his time smoking cigarettes in my front yard and staring at the ground, just riding the clock. When he had finished, he left the water main box protruding out of the ground at an angle even though we provided him with backfill dirt. The labor fee was over $400. The job will have to be completely redone in a professional manner -- if they honor their 30 day guarantee.

It has been so wonderful dealing with this company! They are family owned and the best company in my are that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I called later in the day wanting to schedule a check up on my unit and they were able to send a technician the very same day. The lady that answered the phone was very sweet and knowledge able about questions I had concerning the check. I did not have to spend anytime at home waiting around for them either, the technician gave me a call about half an hour before he arrived at my house so I was able to continue my errands around town. He did such a wonderful job and did not make any messes in my home. He was also very patient and knowledgeable in explaining a few things for me. The next day I received a follow up call to make sure that my service was exceptional and indeed it was. Best family owned company in DFW!

We had been fighting with our warranty company over over a month to get our heater replaced. The company they sent out that diagnosed the problem and decided it needed to be replaced was a nightmare. They kept adding costs on a daily basis on our out of pocket costs and we're refusing to install our unit unless we agreed to all charges. They also refused to put the detailed list of charges in writing. We then found out the company had been sanctioned for practicing without a license. After a month of no heat with three kids we were frantic. My husband called Daniels Air and they came out the same day to give us a quote. They gave us an AMAZING deal and had a new unit installed in less than 24 hours!!!!! I cannot possibly say enough good things about this company. We will use them for all of our heating/air needs. I have never recommended another company on Angie's List but these guys are A plus!!!! Save yourself the hassle and call these guys first!!!!

Well, I asked for the sales person to come out and give me an estimate for a new A/C. He did that, and that is what I wanted him to do since the unit was very old and broke at least two times a summer. Previously I had used companies recommended by my Home Warranty Company, but they did terrible work...no surprise. I knew the Home Warranty would never give me a new one, so I revoked my membership and decided to choose my own company to put one in. I ordered the new outdoor unit from the Sales Rep, but when the service man came to put the unit in, he informed me that he really thought he could fix this one, at least for another year or two so that we could maximize the system by putting both an indoor unit in at the same time we changed out the outside unit. The inside unit was newer, but not all that compatible with the better A/C systems. I had heard that it was more efficient, to use compatible units, but I never dreamt he would talk me out of an expensive unit and fix the old one! Most companies would have just put it in anyway!! It is now September and my old out door A/C unit has worked better than it ever did, so he really did fix it this time, unlike the other companies! I'll be using Daniels' services when it is time to buy a whole new system, they were so honest and professional!! That is very hard to find in this industry!

My outside unit did not turn on and I had already had another company tell me I needed a new condenser. The technician that came out told me the same thing but charged me 79.00 for the service call even though their web site states free estimates. He then gives me an estimate for 7400-10000. Quite a bit of a spread. At one point I even asked him if he worked on commission. As it turned out I found another company that installed a new unit inside and out for 3798.
Response from Daniels Air Conditioning & Plumbing

"Dear Valued Customer, Thank you for taking the time to review our company, I am sorry that you were not satisfied however. We do off free estimates for new units as stated on our website, however all other estimates are charged a service call fee, if you do get the repairs done however, we will waive that cost for you. I am sorry if there was any misunderstanding about our estimate policy. I am sorry if the price made you feel as if the technician was over charging you, our technicians do not work off of commission, the price that we provided you was what we needed to cover our overhead and the technicians time. Please keep us in mind for any future needs and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you, Amanda Daniels Daniels Air & Plumbing"

The technician arrived promptly when my wife called Daniels Air late in the afternoon of what had been the hottest day of the year so far. He was courteous and professional, and quickly diagnosed the problem as a failed condenser fan motor. However, the repair price he quoted was $519.00 plus tax. I opted to fix it myself, and paid the $79.00 service fee. The replacement motor cost at a local supplier was $73.00, and I replaced it in less than 15 minutes. When I later inquired about the price with one of the owners, he defended it as a “flat price” for the service type, and that’s what they needed to charge to cover their overhead costs. I rate them highly for their competence and professionalism; we’ve used them before. But the quoted price for this service in my opinion was grossly out of whack with what I would consider reasonable.

They are family owned. They service some of the big companies in our area. They come in, they clean up after themselves, they don't make a mess or track mud through your house. Price is probably about average, in the ballpark of others in our area. They are always on time. They told me when they were going to be there and they were there at that time. Very professional.

Workers arrived on time. They were very professional and completed the work in one day as promised. I have used Daniels before for repair work on my old system, and would not hesitate to call them again. Evert, my salesman, did a great job informing me of all the different choices of systems they have, and all the possible equipment options. He also explained all the rebates, incentives and financing choices that applied. This allowed me to make an informed decision. There was NO attempt to pressure me into a sale or run up the sales price with needless upgrades. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Arrived home from work on a Friday about 4:45 PM and discovered that the A/C was not cooling. Daniels is a local contractor, with offices less than a mile away. Phone was answered right away. Receptionist was very friendly. She arranged for a technician to come out later that evening. Since the call came in before 5:00 PM, there was no and quot;after hoursand quot; charge (nice!). Technician called a short while later to confirm the call, and get details. He said he'd be here within 1 to 2 hours, depending on how things went at the two calls he already had lined up. He called about an hour and a half later to say he was on his way. The service itself took only a few minutes to complete. The technician was friendly and professional. The A/C has been working fine since then. Will definitely consider calling Daniels again if another A/C problem crops up.

I called in my problem at 10AM and Ronald called me at 10:45 to tell me he was 20 minutes away. He arrived at 12PM and was done by 1PM and my A/C was restored. He was very professional and fast gave me his card and explained what was happening with myunit and wrote all my model and serial numbers down for me. I turned the unit down to 65 and in 45mins it had me freezing!I'm very happy with the result and I gave a B rating on the price because of the freon price but I went back and changed it realizingThe price of R-22 was outrageous and my next unit won't use it.Thanks,Dave Krauss
