I called about five installers to get estimates over the phone and in person. From the start, Kurt was very professional and informative.   When he stopped by for the in-house estimate - he brought a flooring sample that was similar to the one my husband and I originally chose but it was a better price and we ended up liking it better.  Kurt also suggested that we don't put hardwoods in the master closet because people don't normally see it, some people actually like carpet in the closet and it would cost us an additional $300+ to install hardwood floors there.  We took his advice and don't regret it.
Although it took some time to order the floors (this wasn't Kurt's fault, the wood was in high demand and on back order), Kurt kept in touch with us and always returned calls in a timely manner.  When it came time to install the floors, Kurt was accomodating and sensitive to our schedules.  Once the work started, it went very smooth and I was impressed with the work Kurt's team completed.
The only issue we had was the small trim that goes along the floors and the current baseboards.  It seemed like a lower grade quality of trim so my husband and I ended up buying our own trim.
The floors came out absolutely beautiful.  The look, quality and craftsmanship of the wood has far exceeded our expectations.

Overall, the work went very well.  I identified this provider via Angie's list, and contacted via phone.  Response was professional, and representative scheduled an appointment at my earliest convenience.  Representative arrived on time, and shared flooring samples (based on original phone call discussion), and then collected measurements.  Within a short time period, a quote was made available.
Southwest Flooring was very flexible regarding my requests for quotations including pricing 3 different quality levels of carpeting as well as providing the quotation in an itemized fashion.  When I agreed to the quotation, the materials were ordered.  The work was scheduled at my earliest convenience.
The ceramic tile work was completed first as material was immediately available, and carpeting was installed at my next available time.  The tile is a great improvement to the existing flooring in the house.
Carpeting work included removal of the existing carpeting.  This work was completed quickly with the work team maintaining a clean environment as they proceeded.  All materials were bundled up an removed as the job progressed.  Prior to installing new carpeting and padding, the existing floor area was cleaned.  The new flooring was installed, and vacuumed.
The work was completed professionally, and I am pleased with the finished product.

Great customer service!  Last week I had some electrical workers who moved our piano and scratched up our floors.  They offered to pay, but I needed something in writing to estimate the cost.  I told Southwest Flooring that we were not ready to do the job, but I was hoping they could help me out anyway.  Kurt graciously agreed to help, sending me an official estimate which happened to be within 50 cents of the previous Angie's list member I called.  Their prices are spot-on. Saving this company to my favorites!  Will call when the time comes.

We had Southwest Flooring Direct refinish the hardwood floors in the downstairs area of our home and install new linoleum.  We took three bids and chose Southwest Flooring because of other reviews I read on Angie's List and Kurt Cradic's professional approach.  Kurt is the owner and he personally handles all sales.  He was punctual, friendly and courteous.  Our home is approximately 80 years old and has hardwood flooring throughout the downstairs and upstairs areas, except in the kitchen, breakfast room, laundry room and bathrooms.  The original flooring was in good shape but the finish had reached the end of its life.  Southwest Flooring sanded the floor and applied two coats of polyurethane.  The quality of work is extremely good.  The workers were very careful to avoid allowing dust to scatter throughout the house by sealing off doorways with plastic sheeting.  They were through in two days.  Several weeks later we had them install new linoleum in our kitchen, breakfast area and laundry room.  The workers were very thorough and professional and were completely through in one day.  We were impressed with the overall experience so much that we plan to have the hardwood floors in our three upstairs bedrooms, hallway and living room refinished in the coming months.

Kurt was always very responsive and his crew was professional. They started the install of our floor on Wednesday and finished Friday night. It looks awesome. We are very pleased with the install and the company. When we get ready to install our carpet we will definately call Southwest Flooring.

I've dealt with more contractors/service professionals than I could count and I have to say that my experience with Kurt and his crew at Southwest Flooring Direct was absolutely top notch.  We have a TV room/kitchen/breakfast area (approx 700-800 sqft total) that previously had a mix of tile and old carpet. The other parts of our house were solid hardwood and we wanted a continuous look. I met with and received quotes from four service providers before selecting Kurt. I am a good judge of character and almost immediately I knew I would be comfortable doing business with Kurt. To the extent that when I was first receiving quotes, Kurt's came in a bit higher than one of the competitor's, and I asked Kurt if he was able to match, which he not only did but beat (it turns out that there were some differences in measures which accounted for his higher quote).
Since this is a high traffic area were going back and forth between going with unfinished solid hardwood vs. prefinished solid hardwood vs. engineered wood. Kurt took the time to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of each and show us samples, without pushing us one way or another. For various reasons we decided on unfinished solid hardwood (easier to repair, and the fact that the original hardwoods in the other parts of our house had been in place for 60 years and still looked beautiful). We had finished to Golden Oak and two coats of polyurethane.
The area for installation was actually an addition made to the house around 1978. The people that built this addition did a poor job of tying the block and beam foundation into the original part of the house. I knew this would be a problem area going into the project, and I was impressed with how Kurt's team handled it. Without going into the minute details, his crew took a full two days to troubleshoot and then work out the best solution for insuring a level tie-in. I have no doubt that other companies would have just thrown some float over it, which would worked OK for the short term but over time would have broken down and caused more issues. Again I was just impressed and grateful that the crew gave the attention required to this area rather than just slapping the floor down. In other words, they did it the right way.
I was also impressed with how well the crew worked together. They really seemed to complement each other well and had a great flow to the job.
The final job was just outstanding. We have since had people over, including a 30-35 person party for my daughter's first birthday, and have received multiple complements (as well as a couple who have asked for the name of who we used).
The fact is that there are a lot of people who can install wood floors (of course there are also a lot of people out there who can screw it up), but the difference between Southwest Flooring and other contractors was simply that I trusted Kurt and his guys. They are all just hard working, upstanding people who want to do you right.  This was the first impression I had when I initially met Kurt, and this impression carried through until the end of the project. And in fact it carried on even beyond the project; a couple of days after the floor was complete we had another contractor in there, who accidentally scratched our newly-finished floors when he stepped on a step ladder and it slid.  The scratches weren't huge but they were in a prominent location and, hey, the floors were new and we didn't want to start out like this! I called Kurt to ask if he could send one of the guys out to fix it, fully expecting of course to pay a fee for their troubles. A few days later Javier, one of the crew members, came back out, fixed it, and would not take any money from us.  He didn't have to do this, but just went above and beyond.
I don't recommend contractors often because I've done so in the past (for family members and such) only to hear that they did a poor job for them. However I will without hesitation recommend Southwest Flooring Direct to any friend or family member, because I know they will be taken care of.

Excellent service and workmanship.. Would definitely recommend this company for anyone looking for hardwood floor installation.
Also Kurt recommended an additional contractor to install spindles and some construction work; Billy Parker, who was also first class.

I first met with Kurt Kraddick in April for a consultation and estimate.  After meeting with other contractors, we chose Kurt based on the reviews on Angie's and his price.  We contacted him again in July and he came out to review the scope of work.  Kurt is knowledgeable and was very helpful guiding us through the many choices of materials that must be made to start the work.  All the workers that were in our home were professional and courteous.  Kurt came by our home or called each day while the work was being completed.  There were no surprises or problems and the work was finished on time!  My kitchen and wood floors are beautiful!  We are extremely pleased with the services from Southwest Flooring.  We will contact Kurt when we replace carpet in the bedrooms.

We are thoroughly pleased!  Kurt Cradic  came to our home with a variety of good carpet samples, which made making a selection a cinch.  He accomodated us in every way, including convenient installation dates.  The crew was friendly and professional and did a great job. We would use this company again without hesitation.

Kurt showed up on time to show us tile and laminate samples.  Answered all our questions with patience and professionalism.  He had the best prices for the products we were looking for.  Scheduled the work to be done and kept in touch throughout the whole procedure.  The people he had install the laminate were terrific.  They showed up on time, took care of our personal property and cleaned up after themselves.  Very friendly, personable people.  The people that Kurt had install the tile were a disappointment.  They were late showing up, seemed very unorganized (removed old tile in different areas at different times), were very rough in moving our furniture and belongings and did not clean up after themselves.  They evidently were in a hurry to get the job done because they had to be called back to make some repairs.  Even tho they used the spacers, the grout lines are not uniform and the inlay is not level.

This was an enjoyable experience from start to finsih.  Kurt was extremely professional and responded right away to our inquiry.  After he came out and measured,  he immediately gace us an estimate and reviewed it in detail with my husband and I.  We discussed products, options, timing, etc. and both of us felt extremely comfortable with his company doing the work.  We did obtain other bids but were happiest with Kurt's proposal.  It was not the lowest bid (by a few dollars) but he seemed to be the provider most interested in doing the job and took the time to explain and address all our concerns.  His communication was outstanding and his crew was nothing if not thoroughly professional and courteous.  The job was completed ahead of schedule and on budget and looks amazing.  We couldn't be happier.  I would certainly use Kurt again for any project and would highly recommend him to anyone in need of flooring.

I liked their work. They are a top-notch company. They are A+. I liked the quality of their work and their price. They gave me a good price and offered a good quality for that price. I think they charged $7,000 for flooring my whole house. I am planning to use them again in the future.

Exceptional is the only word I can use to describe the level of service from Kurt and his employees. I bought a house where every room had wood floors except the living room. The sub floor of the living room was a different height than the rest of the house. This was done a number of years to allow the carpet in the living room to be flush with the wood everywhere else.  I know there were cheaper guys who could drop down wood flooring but I didn't want the "Frankenstein" look of two different heights in our new home. I needed a professional who has seen it all in wood floors to helped come up with a solution.

I called Kurt and he spent close to 20 minutes just talking to me on the phone. Most contractors won?t even talk to you until they see the house. I was able to get him to come out the same day to evaluate my needs.  We were on tight deadline and I explained what I needed and asked what products would work. We went with an engineered hardwood to match the color of the existing floor and make it as flush as possible. Most people would not even notice the difference in height.  When everything was done the floors looked fantastic.

Kurt is an excellent communicator and was always in touch. When it came time to make a decision he proposed a number of solutions and pros and cons of each one. Kurt?s team was also very nice and professional. It is nice to have people with smiling faces and good attitudes come into your home.

I would recommend Kurt to anyone and can honestly say I now have ?My Wood Floor? guy for the future.

I wound up not using them.  I had the guy come out to give me an estimate and tell me what he thought.  On his first visit, he was really really good.  You need to follow up on things and I am one of those people that if you say you are going to do something and you are going to get me more information, I expect it then.  I am lenient if you call and say you will be a few days late and give a reason.  Somebody dropped the ball.  I am a big communication person.  If the bid was supposed to be in on Friday, I would email to say that I am interested and ask them to send the bid.  I would get an excuse or reason why it's not ready.  I am not a big excuse person.  I just want a solution.  That went on and then he gave me the contact of a sub-contractor that I would have to get in to do some preliminary work like remove wallpaper and so on.  I called the guy.  The guy came out, but I never got the estimate.  I never heard from the guy again.  It was not a reflection on Southwest Flooring Direct so much, but it was the people they were using.  I want someone that when they say they are going to be here, they better be here.  The job was to replace a whole bottom floor.  I was prepared for it.  The guy from Southwest Flooring Direct was really nice and actually had some great ideas.  It is just to complete the job I just didn't feel comfortable.  He never called me.  I took some of the ideas he gave me and I am using them.  Some of his ideas were great, but if you can't complete them or you can't have people that you know will follow through on them, then they are just ideas.  Responsiveness initially was very very good.  It was the follow-up stuff that wasn't.  I don't know anyone that is going to spend $20,000.00 and let somebody walk in your house that don't have the time and can't get it together enough to get you the stuff when they say they will.  He was fine initially to my phone call.  After he came out and looked at the job, I had to call him.  I want someone that wants to do the work.  He showed up on the day when he said he was going to come.  I would use him again in the future if he got his act together and got better people working for him.

For the tile, we went to some tile stores that Kurt Cradic recommended so that we could look at all the possibilities since we were not sure what we wanted.  For the wood flooring, I had an idea for what I wanted, so Kurt brought over all his samples that applied to what I told him.  All the samples were high quality, and I found exactly what I wanted.  The installation of both the fireplace tile and the flooring were fast and efficient.  The workers were very respectful, and they were done in 3 days instead of the estimated 4.  Kurt was in contact with us everyday, so when there was an issue with the installation because our foundation was not perfectly level, he gave us options so that we could decide how we wanted to fix it based on cost.  Because he had talked us through the process and the bid, this problem was easily fixed and we did not feel stunned by the extra cost to fix it.  We plan on using Southwest Flooring Direct again when we replace our upstairs carpet in the future.

The crew from Southwest Flooring Direct started the job in my home four days later from when I signed the contract.  The two man crew who did the flooring was outstanding.  They were very proficient, pleasant and efficient.  They appeared to enjoy their work and took pride in doing a good job.  They completed the work (removing the old carpeting and replacing it with hardwood flooring in four rooms, including a large game room) in four days.  The tile installer had a much smaller job but also did a fine job replacing carpeting and old tile in a small upstairs bathroom in two days. My floors look great and the price that I paid was excellent.  I would refer this company to friends and neighbors and definitely would use them again when I do more improvements to my home.

Kurt was quick to respond to my calls for estimates and was always available via cell for any questions or concerns. He's very helpful and is good at providing opinions and information about products when asked. He works with an excellent granite guy, and was able to set up a plumber for me for faucet installation so I didn't have to worry about it. He is able to offer a range of payment options. I have been very satisfied with his work and found him and his guys easy to work with. There were a few issues with the previous job (e.g., workers dented the refrigerator moving it back) but Kurt worked with me to resolve these issues adequately. No issues arose with the most recent installation, which was done quickly and which looks great. This is especially great, considering I didn't go to the granite yard this time to pick out my slab and instead just told him the name of the color I wanted. Each of the three sink counters appears to be from the same slab and is the exact color I wanted. I found his prices to be very reasonable and would definitely recommend him. The final products look great! He was also nice enough to fix a crack in our outside kitchen granite for free - something we could not get the original contractor out to do, despite repeated calls. I would definitely call him if we have additional work in the future.
